We came in on a day they had a band and a food truck. Overall, we had a great time. People are friendly, and the staff is welcoming--including the owner who was walking around socializing and welcoming newcomers as well as regulars. The person who poured our tasting was knowledgeable and had a good balance of information and banter. I am not really blown away by the wine. But we bought two bottles to drink with some food while we listened to the band. It was a nice evening.

Fabulous Experience! Visited this winery on a whim on my wife's birthday and couldn't have made a better choice. The owner was serving and not only was she obviously knowledgeable about the wine she was just an engaging person with great stories about her family history and the evolution of the winery. We also got to visit with her husband, the wine maker, when he dropped in. Apparently, the wines have a Portuguese heritage and we tasted whites, reds and port leaving with a couple of bottles. Looking to return on our next visit to the Willamette Valley.

Their frozen mix is a must try.

Second visit and each time has been phenomenal. I love the welcome, chatting and ambiance. This time specifically I could see they were busy but I never felt rushed or ignored. The weather was perfect for outdoor sitting so we took advantage. Looking forward to another visit.

Perfection. Any way you want to go. Local aunt and I were having coffee when we heard D'Elena (sorry for the guess on spelling!!) ask a tour group if they wanted to "come see how wine was made". We finished up not really thinking we could join and a bit later we began walking outside and caught the group. We followed and asked if we could join to a very welcoming "of course". Got down to the winery, which was an old beautifully converted town hardware store. She gave us some building history, pointed out all of the reused boards and beams, told about the fire way back when so that makes darker beams. Everything was so elegant. Then we went thru the hallway to the Magic room where we saw several wine makers tending their product. This room is not all Cohelo vintages, they rent space essentially to other smaller names. Then we went out back and got a full education on the process there: bonus: we got to see husband Dave go up a mechanical lift to let some Co2 out of one of the larger tanks, which are named after their 11 grandchildren! Just love the family use in the business. Thank you for letting us tour on my visit from Florida!

Amity Vineyards has been around for a long time. I've always been meaning to get up here and I…read morefinally made it up their way. Black Friday for me usually means avoid all stores and shopping. There is no deal I need or anything I need bad enough. That said this seemed like a great alternative. Their tasting is $8 this includes 5 wines to taste and they also brought us a little plate of olives, crackers and almonds. We purchased one wine which waive one of our tasting fees. I have to say I really loved all their wines. When you walk in their tasting area may seem a little primitive and not as fancy as some you see in places in the McMinnville AVA, however, the service was great and friendly. The server indicated that had just recently been bought out by Union wines which produces Underwood wine and is based out of Tualatin. This must have been a real recent purchase as neither of their websites reflect that. All in all a good solid group of reds and whites. Stop by and give them a try. I know I'll be back again.

They have the best wines I have ever had! Love their Late Harvest Rieling (sweet dessert wine)…read morewhich I believe is termed an "ice wine". They also had a sweet "Wedding Song Riesling" which was my 2nd favorite. My friend enjoyed the Eco-Wine Pinot Noir, which was what she bought. The tasting fee was incredible, I think it was like $5 for 8 or 10 tastes. I lost track of how many tastes we had. And then they waived our tasting fee as well. I had so much fun and had such a great time at this winery! Out of all the wineries we went to in the Salem area, this was definitely my favorite. And the staff was super informative. They were so friendly and nice, very helpful. Not only that but one of there wine specialists was super hot too! Nice eye candy :)

When we arrived at Dukes yesterday, the server asked if we had reservations. We did not. "Well,"…read moreshe huffed, "we're pretty full right now." I counted five (5) empty tables. We thought Dukes was pet-friendly, and we saw two (2) large dogs lying on the concrete beside a table. One of them got up and lumbered toward ours (a 17-pound rescue). Intimidated, our little dog barked exactly once, prompting an employee to storm outside. Scowling, he said pets were absolutely not allowed. "We had a dog bite last year," he said grimly, oblivious to the other canines already present. Proverbial tales between our legs, we left, feeling pretty crappy--especially since we drove almost forty minutes out of our way to visit this winery. PS: Here is the initial response by Dukes Family Vineyards which they posted and quickly removed: "Your dog barked and snipped in a very aggressive manner twice upon arrival. You were asked to leave by the owner after he heard your dog being aggressive. Sorry about the disappointment, however; we had several patrons that witness your arrival and they thanked us for not letting you stay." PPS: To Dukes Family Vineyards: Your response, and your suggestion my chihuahua was "very aggressive" is completely absurd. My wife was carrying him. The instant she set him down, a much-larger dog came straight over and got in his face. Ours barked once. (He was frightened.) Please answer this question: Why are other dogs allowed to be there if your establishment isn't pet-friendly? Also: we were not "asked to leave." Your server told us you were "full," despite the number of empty tables. Your claim that several patrons witnessed our arrival and then thanked you for not letting us stay makes you (and them) sound like creeps. Further, your withdrawn statement illustrates for potential customers the way you will judge and treat them.
