We have been trying to get in Cody's for almost a month. Finally today we lucked out, we sat outside with the ceiling fans on. It was quite pleasant. We weren't that hungry so we both had Coke's to drink to start us off. My wife ordered the Cobb salad, and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. I felt the food was good, and our server was Johnny on the spot with refilling our coke's, food to our table. I'm sure we will come back in the future once they are over there opening gutters. The meatball sandwich looked great. It had large meatballs and was covered in cheese, but when you cut into it it was horrible. It was a hard ball of dried out bread, with nothing resembling meat inside. It lacked any flavor and required cutting through with a knife. The consistency was like a mixture of bread and sawdust. Took forever to get our food, Waiter who was a skinny redheaded sorta guy kept telling us "Waiting on the fries" "Waiting on this" Waiting on that"\ Then rthe food arrived. I went today with my family 8 people and my nephew 5 months old baby. the service was awful the servers that started taking our orders were arguing one of them took his apron off threw it at the wall slam the door in front of us the other servers were just looking and gossiping about the issue but no one servers or managers came to the table to apologize for the incident. i asked for the manager after we ate to let them know the service was unprofessional, Jen came and told us she was the manager but she was new at that store and she was unaware of what happened! we had a reservation at 6:15 pm the food came at 8 pm. horrendous experience we won't ever visit this place again. read more

We have been to this location now around 4 times since they opened. The food has always been fair to good. The service is hit or miss. We love the evening entertainment on the patio. We have been here 3 times in 3 weeks and the food has been amazing, we just want to keep going back. The wait staff have been very attentive and accomodating. Whether you choice to want inside or Alfredo we've never been disappointed, services ca be hit or miss, but the food is usually on point.

My husband and I ate there Saturday July 15th. We asked for our usual waiter and as usual he was awesome! However, i ordered as Cobb salad and when it came, it was not as described!!! it was all iceberg lettuce, no romaine, no bleu cheese and only a few pieces of chicken and ham! George brought me some blue cheese and I didn't want to say anything because he is a GREAT waiter and I am always concerned when I send my food back for fear of someone sabotaging it. Went to Cody's in Ocala last night with neighbors, it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. I ordered the baked onion soup, when the table salad was delivered I asked the waitress for my soup BEFORE the meal. She advised me that it should be out in a couple of minutes, but before the meal. Two of us got the wrong side dish, they removed the wrong ones, and brought back the correct one, sweet potato. The meal came with no soup, I told the waiter who delivered the meals to cancel the soup. One of us ordered the prime rib, medium, it came rare. About 3 minutes later the soup was delivered, I again said to cancel the soup, it was taken away. Several minutes later our waitress comes back and apologizes about the soup. She said it was on the house if I still wanted it. She returned a few minutes later. I asked everyone else if their meals were hot, all our meals were served warm to room temp. I've read several reviews of Cody's, and they were all hit or miss, happens to every restaurant. My Mom and I went a couple of weeks ago and it was decent, my only complaint was it was very loud. I believe in giving places a second chance, but we will NOT be returning. read more

Very disappointed. It was Mother's Day and I knew it was crowded. I went into put a take out order for myself and my 91-year-old aunt they told me 25 to 30 minutes. I ran a quick errand and got back there at 35 minutes later and they told me the kitchen was still working on my order. It literally took an hour and 10 minutes for a take-out order. There was a woman who got there the same time as me with her family to eat in the restaurant and she literally was done and left before I got my order when I got at home, the salmon was super dry. I did hear great reviews but I don't have a great review right now because this is what my experience was. My best friend says they have great steaks, but I have an experience that I understand it was Mother's Day, but an entire hour and 10 minutes for my takeout order, very disappointing read more

Terrible food and service. Employees were arguing about clearing tables. Our diner must have sat under heat lamps for 30 minutes it came out dry, over cooked and tasted terrible. The ribs were under seasoned, had no smoke ring and tough. The only saving grace was drinks were BOGO so people we're probably too drunk to taste the food. read more

Stopped in for dinner for Mom's birthday at the Ocala location on September 22 around 5 PM. My First visit. Ordered Ribeye medium. Came out raw in middle. Once we could find our missing waitress Irene, I sent it back. Waitress brought it out. Cut into it. Seemed fine at the first cut. As I cut into it more, I discovered it was still raw. Let manager Zack know about it. He said since it had already been cut up there was nothing he could do about it. Had to wait for refills several times. We have been going to Cody's Roadhouse a couple of times over the past year. Today we went and were very disappointed. My husband ordered wings and I ordered the French dip sandwich. We were in the restaurant for over an hour and watched the tables around us turn over twice. When our food finally arrived it was cold and dried out. We complained to the manager who gave us a $5.00 "neighbor" discount off of our $50 bill. We decided to stop at the new Cody's in Ocala for the first time last night and I was going to give them another chance at a steak. I had ordered a steak at another Cody's in the past and I ordered medium well, the steak was bloody so I had to send it back, which we all know is dangerous. Well, this time I ordered well done hoping it will be more done, but it came back bloody. So once again I had to send it back. That wasn't the worse part, I ordered a New York Strip hoping it was a good cut of steak, but it was 75% fat and gristle. From other reviews that I have read, this is a common complaint. The service was good as was the salad and bread, but if we ever stop there again, I will definitely NOT order a steak! read more

I ordered 7oz salmon and the portion was so small it must of been half. I talked to the manager and he said this happens once in a while. He said that they would adjust the bill. Worse meal ever. 2 stars because my husband devoured his cheeseburger and fries. The fried onion is always great. 2 items I considered ordering, they were out of. I settled on the grilled shrimp on a bed of rice and a baked sweet potato. The baked potato was incinerated and sat in a vat of melted cinnamon butter. So we usually go to CR to eat at Cody's.. but we decided to try out their location in Ocala .. I'd like to Danielle was amazing as a server- but she seemed annoyed to have to deal with us.. she never came back to check on us after she dropped off the food- my husbands tea ran our way before she came back to give us a check.. maybe she had too many tables but I smile would've been nice tbh- we gave her more of a tip than was deserved but we didn't want to be there anymore and after eating just an ok lunch we probably won't be back to this location.. js.. it's a nice new building and plenty of room inside which we though was an advantage over the cr location which is tight inside.. but sadly we won't be back for a bit - my salad dressing was a little too vinegary for my liking and the chicken was dry and overcooked - my husbands bbq chicken sandwich was dry and definitely needed more sauce or something- although he did enjoy the fries.. read more

Again absolutely horrid service. Husband asked 3 times if the could take his order to go. Told him they would go get someone. So he decided to call. He seen who answered his call and went to counter and told them it was him on the phone so please take his order. So after OVER an hour he received his sandwich and burger. Sad when your older with alot of health issues. I would eat canned soup rather than go to this place again. Think everyone knows that to microwave beef will give it a horrible taste. Watch Gordon Ramsey and see how he talks to his staff if they cook meats like that. So for $14-15 get a French dip sandwich that could not eat. A husband who is totally aggravated and upset at service and a hour and 1/2 of his life he won't get back. Just because we tried this place again. Don't do it if you like good food even if on the higher places restaurants. Everyone in our 55 plus community was excited they were opening a place close to us. But we will go back to long drive and get better food at Arbys or place like it. Better yet we will buy more canned soup. Will be a lot better no doubt. We visited this restaurant on Saturday Labor Day weekend, after a very lengthy wait to be seated over an hour we were finally accommodated. We ordered an appetizer, and our drinks the waitress was very nice. We have been told by locals that this was a great place to go we decided to order the prime rib when the food arrived, the meal that my wife ordered had a piece of prime rib that was so tough you couldn't even put your fork through it. It was not over cooked it was cooked between medium and medium rare. When the waitress came over we told her the issue and she took it away. She came back to the table and stated that they had had four or five complaints that evening about the prime rib and had to take him back. The server suggested she try the ribeye. Again after a lengthy wait of about 30 more minutes, her new steak finally arrived. The new steak had a very distinct flavor of liver. It's the flavor of a cheap steak that we have experienced in the past. It also had to gristle lines running through the steak. I tried a piece of her steak also and was not impressed at all. At this point the meal was going south very fast. My prime rib was also somewhat tough but trying not to make a big issue I just told them that mine was fine that I did order it cook a little more than she did but there's no way that her prime rib should've been a tough and then the substitute piece of meat was unacceptable. I've actually had better steaks at Golden corral and that is not a place that I patronize anymore but for the sake of the review it gives you a good parallel. After trying my wife steak I asked for the manager and the manager arrived she was less than accommodating and had a attitude of just eat your steak and leave me alone ! She asked me what my problem was, I said excuse me? We waited over an hour to get these seats to eat a steak that's so tough a dog would have trouble eating it to have another state to replace it that taste like The cheapest cut of meat or company could buy to feed to the public and you want to give me an attitude. I was then told well what do you want me to do about it? After a dissertation from her telling me how when they cook a steak fat can turn into gristle I realized I was dealing with someone that was not in the correct position at this restaurant as a manager. She walked away the waitress came back and I asked did you not tell me that you had four or five people send this prime a river pack? She said yes and their server came by and said the same thing as a matter of fact after the manager left four employees of the restaurant came and said the same thing that they have had four or five complaints about the prime rib. So no not only was she rude and I'm noxious she was also a liar! Considering we were in the area on business and were 150 miles from our home and more depending on locals to tell us what a good restaurant would be to go to I would say to you. I would not recommend this restaurant they are not supplying a good product to the public. They should probably look into buying American grown beef four or five complaints about your prime rib is not a good track record. We will not ever return to Dish establishment. You can get a much better steak at Golden corral Longhorn Texas roadhouse or Waffle House hope you find this review useful read more

The best part of this restaurant was the peanuts. Got the Knob Creek Old Fashioned, tasted like a Bourbon Lacroix. No flavor at all. Mushrooms were subpar. The entire time we were surrounded by gnats and flies all over our food. Absolutely disgusting. The food was very tasteless and boring. Atmosphere is horrible as well, hipster roadhouse isn't a good vibe. Save yourself a bad experience and just go to Outback or Texas Roadhouse. Went to a late lunch two days ago with friends. We arrived at 3:30 and there was a 25 min wait with lots of open tables. When we were seated our waitress Ashley greeted us. We could tell she was new..very nervous. She was kind and wrote down every word we said when ordering. Two of our meals came..blackened haddock and clam strips. We waited and finally flagged our waitress to see where the other meal was. She returned with the steak cubes and we never saw her again throughout the meal. We finally flagged her down again and I asked for more water.. we were all out. She didn't ask how are meals were..do we want more beer.. nothing. Dropped off the waters and left. We had finished eating and she didn't remove anything. We flagged her down again for our checks. She brought them and I had to ask her to remove some plates. Worst service!! The training here of new servers is just sad!!! She was nice..just not trained. Her tip reflected in her service. And I usually overtip. We will not be back. All the meals were greasy, dry, warm not hot. Your two for one won't even bring us back. Service is just as important as hot, good food. We received none of them. read more

So I've previously gave this place 5 stars because even though they made a lot of mistakes they had just opened so I wanted to see them do well. But tonight I ordered wings and asked that they be EXTRA WELL DONE but they came very light, not even close to well done or crispy, I also received 5 when I only ordered 3.., so I nicely said I'm sorry (why) but these aren't well done but it's ok I'll just have the other appetizers I ordered... then I waited for over 20 minutes for a drink and they weren't busy.. then finally the bartender comes over and said do you want a double?? I said no just the regular drink I had before.. then she yells at me and says "WELL YOU GOT A DOUBLE BEFORE AND THATS WHATS DOWN"!! I'm like .. I only asked for a drink on the rocks with the mix no one said single or double so I don't know why your saying that??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!
