Service was excellent. The food is usually always good but for some reason it was outstanding this time.

Wow Best Prime Rib , that I have had in ages! Mike was an excellent waiter. I can't say enough about about Cody's. Honestly best steakhouse I've been to in a very long time read more

The advertised outdoor seating is false. We arrived around 545pm. The inside was crowded and we practically begged the hostess to be seated outside. She curtly said "no" we're not seating guests outside tonight. She had offered us a table in the middle of a very crowded dining room. I saw the table and the area and declined. Took my family and left. It's a shame this happened. I've eaten here 4 months ago and the food and service was excellent. Just a suggestion but Maybe do take out until it's safer & covid delta is less prevalent. read more

We were in Citrus Springs for the holiday weekend and found Cody's. Friendly welcome & Service was great even though they were very busy. Husband had a large tender filet that was cooked to order med rare. I had the 1/2 rack of ribs a large serving and very tasty. I thought The bbq sauce was perfect & the tender Meat practically fell off the bone. I asked for ribs to be grilled to add a bit of char and that's how they were served. Be sure to ask for the hot fresh dinner rolls with sweet butter. French fries and salad good also. Prices seemed very reasonable for the servings size and quality. We recommend & will return on our next trip to the area. read more

After many recommendations we decided to give this place a try. Not disappointed . Food was fresh and service great. We left stuffed and will return read more

It's very bad. Don't go. Steak was raw. A lot of fat for a ribeye, but not good fat. Just globs and globs of fat around and in the middle of the steak.I would have had them send it back, but it didn't have any flavor or seasoning.I just asked for a Togo box to take it to the dog. I thought it would be like a Texas Roadhouse, but much, much worse. The rolls were fresh, and large. Great cinnamon butter. Go for the rolls, skip the steak. read more

Used to be good not anymore the cooks were fighting so loud that everyone in the entire restaurant could hear and see. The owners need to take some time to watch what's going on or they will be out of business by next year when we return to Crystal River I hope not we always enjoyed eating there but the cooks they have now is ruining their business especially that guy with the long hair on the char grill station. PS. The waitress were trying their hardest to help them in the kitchen but the guy cooks could not stop cussing and fighting. read more

we usually go to Cody's for the consistency, decent food at a decent price. Don't know what is going on lately but today was probably our last visit there. service was slow, no utensils, barely enough salad for one person and the desert was stale. read more

Food was terrible, burger was over cooked, shrimp had no flavor, rice was too salty, food took a very long time to come out.

I have been to this restaurant 5 times in 3 years, only once did everything go right, not sure if the chefs go through training on what temp a steak should be but only once has my steak been prepared correctly, one time they had no steaks.. hmmm a steak joint with no steak. I've been to other Cody's in other county's and everything was always awesome but this one I'll never return to. I'll drive to St. Pete or I'll go to Texas Roadhouse. read more

Friendly staff, prompt service, even after staff warming other customers of delays due to short staffing and back up in kitchen. We were not given that warning. I ordered the prime rib, not impressed. It was warmed on a grill, so it had a charred finish throughout. Flavor was not bad, and it was warm, portions were plentiful, and otherwise well prepared. Prime Rib being one of their most advertised items, should have presented a nice finish and presentation. Bathrooms left a lot to be desired (men's), with strong odor and floor noticeably unkept, not dirty just seems like there was little or no upkeep during the business day. It was not so crowded as to not have oversight on cleaningness. I'll maybe is due to mentioned staff shortage, but surely something that is most likely easily solved. read more

The service was absolutely terrible i do not recommend. They are one of the only places to get steak around here so we went and I personally asked for medium rare and got medium well along with our whole table. read more

Even though the place was hopping, the wait staff was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious. My steak bites were done to perfection. This place is reminiscent of an old time roadhouse with peanut shells on the floor and a relaxed atmosphere. read more

Service was unfriendly at best even though the restaurant was not busy at all at 3:30pm on a Monday. Problems were not dealt with in a positive manner. Disappointed. read more

The food service today is terrible. It took 45 minutes for the onion rings to come out. It has been an hour and we are still waiting for 2 fried chicken salads. After we raised a ruckus our waiter became much more attentive. The manager made it right by comping both salads. This is not the service we are accustomed to at Cody's. They need to do better read more

Zora is amazing!!!! she treated us with kindness and when are asked if there was anything to do in the area tonight. (we are from out of town) she was more than happy to try and find out for us if your in the area and need some good food and GREAT PEOPLE TO HELP YOU. CODYS is THE PLACE AND Zora is the waitress!! thank you from a few Ohio residents. we will be back when we come into town. read more

I was concerned after TYE mixed reviews but I was VERY pleased with the food and the service. Came around 8pm on Sunday and was seated right away. The waitress came a few minutes later and was very sweet and reviewed a couple of menu items. Ordered the grilled Caesar, grilled Haddock and the chicken wings. Plates were huge. Chicken Caesar was a bit overdone but it was tasty. Wings were huge and tasty. My haddock was very good with the coke slaw that was perfect. The sweet rolls are so good...was happy with my choices and I would recommend. read more

Hit or miss sums this locations food and service. We've had 3 bad food experiences in the past months and now are seeking other places to find a stream to eat. Tough meat, lost order and 30 minute wait only to be informed they ran out of what we ordered. read more

The food here was okay. Not a fancy steak house by any means. I got a filet and it tasted off. The fries were cold. Only came here because the other options only take reservations. I personally will not be going out of my way to go to any Cody's in the near future. If you have ever been to a Mannys Chophouse it's literally the same thing. read more

Had a few hiccups but the food was delicious, and the manager Nicole really cares about her customers.

I recently went for my birthday dinner along with my husband and daughter. I also had a $10 off birthday email. The waitress (Alexis) was terrible. We asked about drinks, she had no idea what was on draft or what brand wines they have, and she kept saying the drink menu was over there. I finally asked her to go get it so we could see it. My daughter ordered a regular margarita with salt rim. It came unsalted. It tasted like limeade. It was weak and we didn't taste any alcohol in it. The salad was warm and wilted. Not like the usual wilt. It was like it was made in a hot bowl. The dressing didn't taste right either. Very strong vinegar. I ordered rib eye medium. It was hands down the worst steak I've ever eaten. It was room temp, zero seasoning, and extremely tough. I took two bites and left the rest on my plate. Everyone else's food was mediocre. Either the temperature, or how it was cooked, etc. Our waitress must have known the people behind us, as she stayed stalled at their table talking about personal things with them. When she finally came back I told her I had a bday email for $10 off and she started grabbing for my phone. I told her she wasn't going to handle my phone and she said well there's a code. I was showing her the email. There isn't a code. She said she'd send over the manager (Monika). Another 10 minutes and she came back asking if the manager came by, stating because you know how managers are. The manager walked up behind her. She looked at my email wanting to handle my phone. I said $10 off is not worth you handling my phone. She looked at it without her hands and saw the email was indeed for $10 off bday. The bill finally came and we paid without a tip! We never do this. We didn't complain about the food or service, because to be frank, it's not even worth it. We'd have been there so much longer, what would they do, heat my terrible steak up? Offer a new one that would come out in 30 minutes? We decided no tip is the best way to convey how we felt about our experience in a situation like this. When we got home we realized the side of the bench my husband and I were sitting on wasn't clean and we had smeared, hardened mashed potatoes all over our backs and pants. Disgusting! Glad we didn't leave a tip! We will absolutely never go back there or any other Cody's. So gross! This place needs to be shut down. read more

My friend and I came here after we went swimming with the manatees in Crystal River. One of the employees recommended a restaurant, but we couldn't find it and then just randomly came across Cody's. Lucky for us! It was their anniversary celebration week and they had tons of specials. Normally, they also have have an early bird menu from 3:30 to 6:00pm Monday to Saturday, which we were able to take advantage of. I had the Chicken fried chicken salad. It was massive, and I had tons leftover. It could have easily been an entree for two people and such a deal at $6.98! They also serve it with rolls and a cinnamon butter, which was different...but in a good way! You get a lot of bang for your buck here. The service was very friendly and attentive too. read more

We almost did not come here because of some of the reviews but my boyfriend wanted filet mignon. I'm glad we went because his steak was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were creamy. I had a burger which was also very flavorful. The Mac and cheese, rolls, and ranch dressing salads were also yummy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The amount of food for the price was very reasonable. We would most definitely come here again. read more

Had. Great meal. Always love the filet. Josh was an awesome server. He was very attentive and fun to all of us.

Waitress FLIRTED with my boyfriend the food was pretty decent but the chicken was overcooked and the service was horrible

Service was bad. Waiter was split with us an another table on the other see of the restaurant. Our group of 11 had 20 minutes spread from the first plate out to the last. Food was cold. The restaurant was filthy and in disrepair. read more

Waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged we were sat down, 20 minutes to get a water and a Diet Coke. 1hour and 20 minutes for food to come out and the Beef brisket was dry. Waitress whined the entire time. Place was empty. No reason for such terrible service. read more

There were six in our party, five adults and one child. When they brought the meals out they only brought the five adult meals without the child's. They said they would take care of it. 20 minutes later asked again because still had not received the child's dinner. Another 20 minutes past and asked one more time. Finally 20 minutes later ask for the manager they still had not started the meal for the child. Everyone at the table had finished eating in the child still had not received her meal yet. When they did bring it out they did say they were sorry but didn't even comp the meal. While we were waiting for her to finish eating they actually sat down someone right next to us that was part of a large party that told us that we were holding them up from being able to sit down. I've never seen anything like this I just couldn't even believe that it even happened. I wish there was the ability to give Cody's a zero Stars. Right after that is when they failed their health inspection as well. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 17 years and was always my favorite place in Crystal River. For the past 2 or 3 years it has rapidly declined to maybe a 1 star review, bad service, cold food and just dirty. Unfortunately we have a gift card to use-up, otherwise probably won't be going back anytime soon. The one in Ocala is newer and a little bit of a ride but will be heading that way instead. read more

Well if you're looking for an authentic roadhouse then Cody's is turned into the one. Don't go to the restroom unless you have all your shots. When I refer to having all your shots I mean make sure you're vaccinated but a couple of tequila shots wouldn't hurt either. Restrooms are pretty filthy. Floors are pretty filthy. It's a little crowded and the tables are getting old. So at the bar if there's room space is limited. You'll get a plate for food. The food is not that great. The price is really good but only if you're just looking to fill up. Their bar special try chicken is very bland and mine was overcooked both times I ordered it. The bar burger hit and miss you might enjoy it one time and then it come out over done another. Fries when you get them from the bar the same way sometimes you're over done. The server does a good job to make sure you have your drink full and make sure that you're not getting ripped off on liquor for. read more

We are passing through and stopped here for dinner. The food was good and they staff was nice.

Our meal was a flop my medium rare filet was well done. I finally got the steak but by then my husband had finished his meal. Our server Rachel was caring and attentive however the manager Ann refused to come to our table her attitude was "you can't please everyone'. That is true however if you don't please someone you may not have anyone. We have several steakhouses in our community that we will now be recommending Outback, Kane's cattle co, Vintage on 5th etc but be assured attitude is also part of the dining experience so we won't be experiencing Ann or Cody's in Crystal River attitude read more

We like Cody's. Great variety in the menu. Hubby wanted ribs for his birthday, so we went to Cody's. I had salmon, which was perfectly cooked. Good salad. We love the scallop appetizer! Our server, Alex, was friendly and took good care of us. Two for one happy hour! We'll go back again. read more

Things continue to deteriorate at this location. Probably will not go back. Plenty of staff, but apparently they don't think waiting on customers is a priority! Arrived at 11:15 and seated promptly but no server....finally another table seated behind us and a few minutes later they got a server, while we were stilll waiting. Hostess busy flirting with another employee, several wait staff meandered by. Three wait staff are in the next room chatting and rolling silverware. Finally got up and told hostess what happened and left, on the way out several people offered to take care of us....REALLY? Last few visits food has been poor quality and restrooms are mostly disgusting....evidently health department hasn't been here in awhile, cleanliness is a concern....just so over this location! read more

Food has always been good... HOWEVER. ..... WARNING TO PARENTS!!! Kids eat free Monday and Tuesday nights.... because of this child predators like to hang out there. We had NOT ONE, BUT TWO of them try to make contact with my children and family yesterday! The first one you could tell something was "off" with the dude. He taps me on the shoulder and asked if he could buy my children cheesecake so he could watch them eat it. I informed him no thanks and he needed to go about his business. He promptly left. The second one just came up to the table and started talking to my niece (6) and other kids (1,3 6,7) blowing them kisses trying to touch their hands and their hair, and trying to hug them. I got up and told him it was time to leave. The man was all like "oh I'm so so sorry..." and started BLOWING ME KISSES WINKING AT ME. The staff / manager did little to assure us that it wouldn't happen again or that they were aware of such evil in their establishment. Won't be back. Protect your kiddos yall. Crazy world out there! read more
