The food was ok not hot. Took asking five times for a glass of water with lemon and halfway through our service I believe our server decided to quit! We heard another server walk past him and say "just finish the night out." You'd think a manager would've come by and at least apologized...but as we sat there for five minute clueless as to where to order our waters from again there was no one in sight. read more

Cody's Original Roadhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Crystal River, Florida

Cody's has gone from our favorite restaurant to won't go back! We were ten year patrons and always also went with 4 to 6 friends for their anniversary dinners where whatever you ordered you got a free meal of the same amount and we all would go back together in the next few months and be happy with us all sitting together and buying drinks and appetizers at the same table. Now they don't allow but one person at a table to use their cheap $20 coupon and we can't even go as a couple because they don't allow only one of the couple to use the coupon. Stupid stupid stupid! Now all 4 couples have decided that their "appreciation" coupon Sucks and none of us go there anymore. read more

Probably the worst dinner we've had in quite a while. Not a busy Saturday night. My wife ordered the sirloin medium with baked sweet potato. I ordered the prime rib, also medium with loaded baked potato. Rolls came out hot and tasty. My steak was was cool and the potato was cold; cheese didn't even melt, hers was rare and cold. Sent hers back and they returned with another rare steak, worse than the previous. We don't usually complain about food but the quality has really deteriorated. Very disappointed. read more

My husband and I were passing through on vacation and stopped in for dinner. We both got the Filet and it was amazing! The staff were friendly and working their butts off! Long Island drinks topped off a wonderful evening. We will be going back!! Highly recommend!!! read more

Pretty good for a roadhouse! We stopped by after doing some shopping in the area. It's a great place that most everyone, even my vegan mother, can find a dish to eat. The food was pretty decent, nothin toooo spectacular but still good for its price. I had the pulled pork with sweet potato fries, the others had a Beyond Burger, and a regular bacon burger. Also have to say that I'm a huuuuge fan of the yeast rolls and peanuts. Glad we didn't order an appetizer since we had those delicious items. Also wanted to point out their clever food presentation. From the fresh mixed salads at the table side to the scallops adorably plated on individual forks. Very fun! I'd think I'd definitely want to comeback and try some different dishes. I saw quite a few people with the wings that looked pretty great. All in all it was a nice stop. read more

I hesitated to send out such a negative review but am so frustrated I feel others need to know. Last time we ordered pick up they forgot our mushrooms and onions but charged us. This order the steaks were horribly over cooked. They were so dry and BLACK it was ridiculous. We have been faithful customers of Cody's for years. We use to Oder there weekly. Now I never want to set foot in the place. I don't even want to speak to a manager I'm so annoyed. I don't know what has happened but they need to take a look into the people working there and what they send out to their patrons. What a shame. read more

We went there on a Friday and wanted to order bone in chicken wings and they were out of them (REALLY). Arrived there in time for happy hour and ordered drinks on their 2 for 1 special, 1st drink we wanted they were out of the liquor to make the drink so ordered another and they said they do not have the liquor for that (RIDICULOUS)...while waiting for our food we ordered chips and queso, the chips were hard and stale (OMG). Our server Sierra was great wish we could say that about the person doing the inventory/ordering of product. What a disappointment should consider new management!!! read more

Very good food. Salad, sweet potato, small filet OMG soooo good! Ordered colors light, got 2...happy hour, who knew. Wonderful service. Waiter vey kind. Yes I would come back! read more

The peach margarita was amazing and our server was super attentive and kind! Food was good!

Asked to sit outside, said to go ahead and she would bring menus. Walked past us twice without anything in her hands and never even acknowledged us. Not busy at all. Left without even eating. read more

Their service is horrible. I asked for a medium rare steak with a side salad I got a huge salad with a cold rare steak I asked 3 times for my steak to be hot and medium rare the outcome was the same! I won't be back! Half way Thur meal she relized we had no silverware! read more

Stopped by once again! Frank you should start taking better care of your restaurants!! Third time in two months went for Wednesday fajita night and was out of steak fajitas?? WTF how can a steak restaurant run out of steak and still serve other steaks on menu?? Get it together we been going here for years and my last two times were horrible! Service is off and on? Always different wait times when you order! Had to ask Carly two times where our salad was! Than still waited 15 minutes??Seams like when nobody is there it takes forever to get your food! Had to wait 20 minutes to get check! Didn't plan on spending the night here! read more

I came here asking for a table and they told me 40 minutes wait , I was waiting outside for a 7 people table I came again after 10 minutes and were nasty rude and I never come Back to this restaurant again read more

Steaks weren't cooked correctly. Baked potato was wrong. Waitress completely forgot about us. No refills on drinks. Will eat at home .

Service was terrIble, we got the bogo fajitas and they didn't come with salsa, they charge 79 cents for a tiny cup. The waitress took our order and came back with our waters but didn't come back till we were almost finished eating. The manager brought our food so she wasn't around at all. Another customer had to hunt her down to get her bill so they could leave. They said their service was terrible too. We won't go back. read more

Tried again. Wife and daughters chicken was very dry. My medium rare steak was medium at best. Salad was delicious.

Our first mistake was to go on a Saturday night.... have been there before and it was great. Saturday it took over an hour from the time we ordered our food until it arrived. Everyone's dinners were barely warm. My baked potato wrapped in foil was cold when I got it. We we asked the waitress about why the food was cold she said she had no clue. Not sure I would go back. read more

Incompetent help and service that would make a sloth seem faster than a speeding bullet doesn't mean your gonna get a great meal. When I was lied to about being called for seating when I stood by the hostess station for an hour and then placed at a table for 8 with 9 in my party I couldn't trust them to cook a decent meal so, we walked out. The food may or may not be good but, I won't be lied to. Poor help. read more

Went at 5:30 pm after a long day of being out on the water, I understand that this time is a "rush hour" for most restaurants but they didn't give us a wait time, told us to sit outside and that someone will be right with us. After 20 minutes we had to go inside an ask the hostess if we could get some water. The waitress for the table next to us made direct eye contact with us each time she came out to serve the people next to us and never said a word to us. It honestly wouldnt have been an issue if they had just said it would be a wait instead of immediately seating us. read more

Friendly Staff, Great Food! Traveling around Florida for about a month for work. Second time eating at a Cody's Roadhouse. Steaks are good and cooked exactly to my specifications. Ribs were fall off the bone. The Rolls Are Amazing! Will come back next time I'm in the area! read more

The Roadhouse was my favorite place we ate at during my vacation here near Rainbow River. The decor was all over the place with tons of bar stuff and Americana. We were seated quickly. Prices on the menu were really good and they had a two for one drink special going on. Of course I got two beers, coors lights for under $4. Damn good deal. I ordered the half stick of onion rings which were huge and had a really tasty horseradish sauce to dip them in. I also got the cheese burger which came with fries. On top of all of that our waitress brought out a basket of rolls with cinnamon butter for everyone to share. (She was awesome!) This place definitely did not skimp on the portions. Great place to grab some pub fair and have some drinks! Wish I could have stayed longer but we had a flight to catch. read more

Great staff garbage food took my soon ordered the prime rib and a filet both were absolute palate abuse got a scrap cut for the prime tasted like it was brined nothing but salt and the filet while being totally unseasoned in any way was completely undercooked , all sides were inedible read more

Went there 6/6/23. SO was in 7 Rivers due to having had surgery that day. Shot down to Cody's. ( Our favorite place ) Unbeknownst to me they were celebrating their 29th year. They stopped their early bird specials for the time period of 29th year. Had two specials-12 Oz prime rib or 6 Oz filet wrapped with bacon. Special was $20. Then I got a free $20 gift card which I havent yet read what you get or what you have to order...The chunk of prime rib was huge ( supposed to be 12 Oz. I think it was more but it was so salty. I ate about 1/3 and took the rest home. I had to throw some away as it was just too salty. It was tender but it tasted as though it had been chemically treated to be tender but its consistency was terrible. Too tender and way too salty. I ordered a baked potato with butter and sour cream. They steam their potatoes and are great. The one I was given had to have reheated as the outside was crunchy. I took a mouth full after stirring it around and got a mouth full of butter and sour cream. There was very little potato in the skin. I had to scrape the sides and bottom to get to a little potato, but for it being reheat ( I think ) it tasted fine. Their salad is superb...for the "old folks " way too much salt. I had been told the owner sold the business back to corporate. I hope they find a better meat vendor. read more

We had dinner here with my Dad and Pam. The kids like throwing peanuts on the floor. Service was much better this time than our last visit. We were there during Happy Hour and drinks were 2 for 1. How can you not love that?? And one of the kids ate for free. RJ had a grilled chicken sandwich. I had coconut shrimp which were pretty good but I didn't like the dipping sauce. It should be horseradish with orange marmalade but it was some kind of weird white sauce. read more

Cody's Original Roadhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Crystal River, Florida

Stopped in her for dinner after seeing how packed it was the night before. We arrived early, were seated right away. Took a few minutes for the waitress to come by. Didn't mind waiting cuz it was fun eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor. We both ordered the half rack of ribs with sauce on the side. I had steamed veggies, hubby had sweet potato fries. Dinners come with unlimited salad, only offered with house dressing. Speak up when you first order if you don't want red onions and/or pepperocinnis (sp). Rolls come with a cinnamon butter. Our ribs arrived, by a different server, both sauced. Our waitress was at our table within a minute to see if our order was correct. She noticed it wasn't, took them back to the kitchen. Before she left she asked if we wanted more salad and/or rolls. We were concerned that the rest of our dinner would be cold. It wasn't, they replated some unsauced ribs and prepared fresh sides. Ribs were a bit dry, and it was like they threw more of their rub mixture on top. A bit too much for us. Prices were reasonable, service was good, food was okay. Probably wouldn't make another trip in though. read more

Cody's was recommended by a snowbird local so we had to try it. I went back and forth on how to rate it. There were good points and not so good points. I love meat but my husband not so much. Occasionally we split a meal if it's steak. I get the majority of it and he takes a bite or two and it works. Good servers usually bring extra plates. Not so here but we were prepared. We kept the one salad plate we were served so we could have a second to split the steak. Server never offered an extra plate. Server never returned to ask how the steaks were cooked either. Our steak was ordered medium rare and served very rare. It was hard to cut through the uncooked meat so we asked for a doggie bag -- no questions from the server why it was all going home with us either The rolls are to die for. They are fantastic and so was the potato. They were both perfect. We ordered the key lime pie. It was different. Not sure we liked it or didn't like it. Would we go back? Probably not. Steak wasn't cooked right and server certainly could have been better. However, so I would say if you go, don't order a steak and don't split an order without letting the server know you'd like an extra plate and to please check back after it is served. One word fits -- disappointed. read more

I decided to grab some food to go before I went out to the beach to watch the sunset. I called the order in and was told 20-25 minutes. I ordered chicken tenders with fries. It came with a salad, too. When I arrived to pick up, I was directed to the bar. I was right at the 20 minute mark when I sat down and I saw them bring my order out from the kitchen. After checking to make sure everything was correct, I paid by CC. From the hostess that answered my call to the bartender that took my order, everyone was extremely nice. The proper expectation was set and even exceeded. The bartender provided me with what felt was personal attention, even thought she had a bar full of customers. As for the food, the chicken tenders were great. True cuts if chicken breast lightly breaded. They even stayed hot for quite a while. The fries were good. I only had a couple since I am trying to maintain a keto diet. The salad was flippin huge. It was large enough for me to keep some and have more later. I have been a few different locations, and I have been impressed the mist with this location. From their fairly large private parking to a nice inside and outside waiting area. read more

We had a great time here! Good prices on drinks and dinner especially if youre there before 6! I had the sirloin tips, tons of food.

Long term customer here, dozens of visits. Ordered chop steak, came out had a funny taste, have had this many times before. Ok, I ask the wife to taste, she spit it out. Held the dish up to the bartender, she didnt even look at us until I asked her the second time. She takes the dish to the kitchen, they tell her that it came from the same batch as other hamburg, and she actually brings it back out. I have never returned food in my life. I ask for the manager, she basically says there is nothing wrong with the meat. So now its been over 20 minutes, my wife is done with her meal and I have to wait for a chicken dish. First of all Codys, if a customer sends a dish back FOR ANY REASON, you replace it immediately and never challenge the customer. We are not the type of customer who wants something for free, in fact just the opposite. We left a $20 tip, which is our minimum as evidence we were not dead beats. . If I were managing the food, the first thing I would have done, is cook a dish to make sure I wasnt sending bad food to the customer. This is a perfect example of how you lose a valuable customer. read more

MY FAV RESTAURANT! Always get the filet! The chocolate milkshakes will always be a good idea.

I'd like to say worst rib eye steak ever but the hunk of meat was a round family steak that was extremely over cooked not the rib eye that I ordered. Plus, how can you wreck a salad? This company knows how. Use old lettuce and drown it with a gallon of dressing. Hostess forgot about our group (9 month old, 5,7 year olds) 4 adults. Server came back after 15 minutes of taking our drink order without water/drinks and asked if we wanted to order. Place is filthy, don't use the restrooms. A tell tell sign is the pig slop they have flowing out of the restaurant across the parking lot, it's like. a river of yuck, germs How does the health department allow this to stay open ? read more

local chain in area. Good food, steaks, chicken, burgers, and a nice salad and good rolls with dinner. Service is always good

I have been a patron of this restaurant since it opened over 23 years ago. My family, friends and I have enjoyed the service and meals for as long as we have been there. The previous owner Frank was great and we love the new owner Nicole. She really works hard at trying to please her customers. As with any business, you can't please all the people all the time. However, anyone watching Nicole and her staff, can see that her heart is always about her customers. I want to give her staff, Monica, Patty, Corine and all the rest a heart felt thanks for all that they do. Much love and appreciation to you all!!!!!!! read more

We chose to go to Codys since we haven't been in forever. We arrived and got seated within 15 minutes. Our server Nikki was great. However, our ticket was "lost" and wasn't noticed until an HOUR after we sat down. We were at the restaurant for TWO hours. We have a toddler that was actually very well behaved during this. We watched tables come in 20-30 minutes after us leave BEFORE we ate our dinner. No manager came over to apologize or offer a solution. I understand that things happen, but this was overall a very frustrating experience. We will not be back. read more

a minute agoNEW The food was decent however the management is awful. The hostess girls were amazing and was constantly being yelled at by a women named patty according to my waitress. I've worked in restaurants myself and her attitude would not be accepted in any establishment I worked in. Nothing but disrespect and that's not how you run a business. I will not be returning. read more
