Also we didn't wait to be seated by the girl at the register who was clearly hot and not very friendly, because there weren't too many in the restaurant which is odd for a Saturday night at dinner time.. anyway onto the food - my husband got the chicken fried chicken which he said was way too chewy and the breading didn't stay on, his fries were burnt also- not great.. I had the Alfredo with chicken it was ok.. my grandson got the Lobster Mac n cheese which he said was good but the lobster meat was so finely chopped he didn't get any real flavor from it.. as for the ambiance it was hot in there.. Nothing wrong with the service, its friendly if forgetful. We ordered the AYCE crab, only to hear a little bit later that they had sold over 168 pounds of crab, and were running out. The hisvand didnt get any tools to help him with the claws. For over $50, I wasn't impressed. I opted for a steak, cooked medium, it was over done, but edible. Soooo glad we went to Kane's!! They use beef tallow instead of seed oils. We had tried another restaurant up the street first and left when they said they use vegetable oil. The portions were really good sized and the ambiance was quiet which is just what we were looking for. Service was also top notch. The entire staff was welcoming and considerate. Went to Kane's Cattle Co. for the first time and had a great experience. We ordered a 6 oz sirloin and a 10 oz sirloin, along with a wedge salad and steak fries. The wedge salad was amazing, and the steak fries were hand-cut, thick, and perfectly crispy. Both steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent--when we asked for a soda refill, our server brought out a glass pitcher so we had plenty. Such a nice touch! We can't wait to come back. Total bill $43.46! read more

1st of the floor in the entire place is terrible, black gum/tar stains nobody has scrapped or mopped the place is probley day 1. The food, the shrimp cocktail came out smoking from the microwave and bit in and ice cold spots, out of the steak of two on a friday night and the steak I did order dripping in oil. Enjoyed a pleasant, and enjoyable breakfast here, definitely a place to try for any meal, well worth the time when in Crystal River.

Was looking for a place for a Tuesday night dinner. Had tried a few other places first that all had too long of a wait. Figured we'd try here. Wasn't that busy and there were lots of empty tables, but they were short staffed and between waiting for a table and waiting for a waiter to get our drink order it was nearly 45 minutes. Oh well they warned us. All of the food was really good, but the coconut shrimp and wedge salad were the standout starters. Dinner itself was solid. Not amazing, but still a good steak dinner. It feels cheap to compare this place to Texas Roadhouse, but conceptually it is similar only much better. I would go back again but unfortunately I don't live in the area. read more

My wife and I just got home from going to dinner at Kane's. Both of us had the 14oz ribeye steak with baked potatoe and a ceasar salad. It all started with the salad which was served at room temprature. (salads are supposed to be cold). When the steak got there it was undercooked, grizzely, tastless, and tough. Just a piece of meat thrown on the grill, no seasoning at all. We just could not eat it. When the check came, it was very close to $100.00. I didn't bother complaining, just took the steaks home for the dogs. Maybe they'll enjoy it. If I could give this place less than one star, I would! Don't waste your money. As far as their bar goes they have more than enough liquor to satisfy anyones thirst, 7 local to Florida beers on tap along with an assortment of the normal beer selection. Steak was not very flavorful and was charred on one side. My husband ordered the Alfredo and it was nothing like traditional Alfredo. It tasted like a lemon sauce. Since my husband doesn't care for citrus, he wasn't able to eat it. We expected a little more from reading the reviews. Service was slow and not very attentive for no more tables than were in the restaurant at 3 pm. My mother in law didn't care for the open ceiling blow-in insulation.
