Soooo glad we went to Kane's!! They use beef tallow instead of seed oils. We had tried another restaurant up the street first and left when they said they use vegetable oil. The portions were really good sized and the ambiance was quiet which is just what we were looking for. Service was also top notch. The entire staff was welcoming and considerate. Edible but disappointing. Cute western decor, concrete floors. Looks like a diner to which someone applied some western motif. For a steakhouse the lunch French dip and cheesesteak sandwiches were lacking. Shaved beef was greasy and cooked to crisp. Went to Kane's Cattle Co. for the first time and had a great experience. We ordered a 6 oz sirloin and a 10 oz sirloin, along with a wedge salad and steak fries. The wedge salad was amazing, and the steak fries were hand-cut, thick, and perfectly crispy. Both steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent--when we asked for a soda refill, our server brought out a glass pitcher so we had plenty. Such a nice touch! We can't wait to come back. Total bill $43.46! read more

My wife and I just got home from going to dinner at Kane's. Both of us had the 14oz ribeye steak with baked potatoe and a ceasar salad. It all started with the salad which was served at room temprature. (salads are supposed to be cold). When the steak got there it was undercooked, grizzely, tastless, and tough. Just a piece of meat thrown on the grill, no seasoning at all. We just could not eat it. When the check came, it was very close to $100.00. I didn't bother complaining, just took the steaks home for the dogs. Maybe they'll enjoy it. If I could give this place less than one star, I would! Don't waste your money. Was looking for a place for a Tuesday night dinner. Had tried a few other places first that all had too long of a wait. Figured we'd try here. Wasn't that busy and there were lots of empty tables, but they were short staffed and between waiting for a table and waiting for a waiter to get our drink order it was nearly 45 minutes. Oh well they warned us. All of the food was really good, but the coconut shrimp and wedge salad were the standout starters. Dinner itself was solid. Not amazing, but still a good steak dinner. Walked in to celebrate my husband's birthday (party of 5). We wanted to enjoy the all you can eat crab legs. Hostess sat us and said a server would be over. Server never came. There was a server who was having a conversation with a person sitting at the bar and made eye contact with us and continued to ignore us. This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The server, Sheri, was polite, attentive, personable, friendly, informative, and helpful. We started with the fench onion soups, which was great. My husband ordered a ribeye and I ordered the sirloin and they were cooked to perfection. We both got a wedge salad as a side, and my gosh they were so FRESH! I also got Brussels sprouts and he got their homemade potato wedges. All the food was absolutely amazing, fresh, and so tasteful! Perfect bite with everything together. Ask for more bread! You'll need it Next we had the French onion soup. Delicious! Lots of gooey cheese and the flavors were great. Then for the main event we ordered the Ribeye. Ordered med rare but it came out more rare. Would rather get it under than over IMO as it can be fixed easier. Asked for re-fire and turned out pretty good. Good crust and flavor. It did not knock our socks off though. Overall a good spot with sold food but nothing that really stands out. The wife had fried grouper sandwich with a side of potato salad and I had crab cake with steak fries. The wife said potato salad was excellent and her sandwich above awesome. My crab cake was fresh and homemade fries were great. As far as their bar goes they have more than enough liquor to satisfy anyones thirst, 7 local to Florida beers on tap along with an assortment of the normal beer selection. Of wine is an option they have a wall rack of it as well. The price to portion and quality of food. It's a home run no brainer, Kane's Cattle Co is the spot to eat at. Took my mother in law for Mother's Day as she wanted to try it out and we were impressed with the 4 star reviews. French onion soup was great. Wedge salad was very good as well. Steak was not very flavorful and was charred on one side. My husband ordered the Alfredo and it was nothing like traditional Alfredo. It tasted like a lemon sauce. Since my husband doesn't care for citrus, he wasn't able to eat it. We expected a little more from reading the reviews. Service was slow and not very attentive for no more tables than were in the restaurant at 3 pm. My mother in law didn't care for the open ceiling blow-in insulation. Canes, cattle country is another one that we've got some really great meals there, some of the best steak I have had anywhere. There is a but, the last time we were there, my husband got a piece of meat that probably shouldn't have been served. For an appetizer, we had the bruschetta/mozzarella. It was excellent. For entrees, we had the 12 oz NY Strip and the 6 oz Filet Mignon. Both were cooked as ordered and very tasty. Wedge and Caesar salads were large and very good too, although I'd prefer the Caesar to be chopped up rather than whole. We also had the fries and a special sweet potato dish. Fries were excellent and the sweet potatoes were good but very sweet due to the toppings. We did love the fact that the sides were included, rather than extra like so many steakhouses. Our server, Renee, was very nice and very attentive. We would have given 5 stars, but the ambiance is not up to the quality of the food. To be honest, it is dark and rather depressing. I don't think it would take much to spruce it up a little and make it more enjoyable for special occasions. Disappointing- 2 of our 3 diners ordered the 12 oz Rib Steak ($26) dinners. Steaks were cooked to desired doneness and were well seasoned. Unfortunately, they were both cut less than 1/2" thick and were tough and chewy. Not at all what was expected, especially at that price. Wedge salads were good. Brussels sprouts were boiled to mush - seasoning would have been good if they had been roasted and not so over cooked. Other diner had the pork chop special, which was very good. The 1lb Chocolate cake was delicious & more than enough for 6 to share! Bottom line - not worth the cost if you're looking for a good steak. And why else would one go to a steakhouse? read more
