Cody's Original Roadhouse - Our chocolate slide sundae - Steakhouses Near Me - Crystal River, Florida

My husband and i ate at codys in crystal river last night. I dont usually bother with reviews but needed to give credit where due. Our waitress was Shelly and she did a great job making sure we got our salad and rolls quickly and our food came out pretty fast as well. She checked on us a few times making sure our drinks were refilled and everything was to our liking. W e will be sure to sit in her section the next time we visit Codys in Crystal River... Thank You Shelly. (We tipped accordingly) read more

We were tired. Drove most of the day. Were just a little hungry, but didn't want to go through the fuss of a restaurant, nor did we want to samo-samo of fast foods. Here was Cody's. Looked like a good place to have a drink, eat and go. And so it was. Sadly, it was a great menu, but our hunger level prevented us from going wild. Too mad as they have great steak, lots of interesting and unusual appetizers like buffalo chicken, a very TALL stack of onion rings and a chip and dip trio. We moved on to margaritas, splitting a great salad and taking on a very nice 12 ounce chopped steak smothered with onions and mushrooms. And...loaded baked potatoes. Well, maybe we were a bit hungrier than we thought. All was good. Madison S. took care of us and she did a great job. If we were longer in the area, we would have come back, but for sure, next time. read more

Brittany did a GREAT job but she was vastly too busy and didn't have much support. Otherwise 5 stars. Excellent food and pricing read more

I had a great experience here! My server Dyani was fun and did a great job! The onion stick was huge and really good. My ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium. I'm just passing through, but if I ever come back this way, I'll definitely stop again. read more

A great relaxed steakhouse! Not too stuffy or fancy but the food was AMAZING! Our server was attentive and helpful. We ordered the 20 oz ribeye medium rare. The steak was cooked to perfection. We ate most of it with just the natural juices but did try a touch of their Vidalia onion steak sauce. The sauce added a bite of sweetness. Will be coming back! read more

Service is wonderful. The house salad is great. The food isn't the hottest in temperature.

We had a 20 min wait before the dinner hour. The food that came to us was burnt and had to be exchanged for new ones the steak also was overcooked I ordered a medium rare and got a medium well. Though the feel of the restaurant was pretty good and positive once we got the un-burnt food. And in the end we left happy but annoyed. read more

We have been there 2 times. The 1st time was great. The 2nd time, well, the salad had some rotten lettuce, no tomatoes or onions. I asked for tarter sauce and never got it. My husband asked for another napkin after he dropped his. He never got that either. So, mehhhh is my rating! read more

Wow!!!! Come hungry. Huge portions. Also the best prime rib I have ever had in my life. This place was so busy, but we still had great and attentive service. This is another place that you must experience if in the area. read more

Food is great but the ladies room needs help. Crowded. There should be a smaller number of people allowed but they crowd them in. We generally eat there as a group on Christmas eve. For years we were sitting by a bank of windows that blew cold air at us, These were cold weather nights and we were crowded in. read more

Popular spot This restaurant was incredibly busy - even on a Monday night. We had to wait a little while for a table - but that wasn't so bad because we kept busy by shelling and munching on the peanuts in a large barrel near the door. My husband and I ordered a burger and a grilled salmon salad for dinner. Even though it was busy, our food came out very quickly and the portions were enormous. This is a great value dinner option - no wonder it's so popular!! read more

Terrible food. Had 10 of us and only 2 had good food. Overcooked ribs, 6 oz filet was end piece of grizzle. Everything over salted by a mile. Never cleared the table and forget any consideration for gmas 93rd birthday we mentioned. Go elsewhere unless your tastebuds are dead read more

Great place to eat. We are always seated right awaay. People are super nice. Peanuts to eat while you wait for your food. The dinner rolls are warm, and delicious. We scallops on skewers for an appetizer. Steak, ribs, we have had several items on the menu and never been disappointed. Recommend to all. read more

Great food and service and the environment is friendly and chill. Definitely recommend the cheesy shrimp, top tier !!!

This place has horrible waitressesing and your order is always wrong! They make comments about what you order ( like why do you care I'm paying for it! ) not your business! Bathrooms need attention most times! read more

I have traveled all over the USA and internationally, and this is by far the WORST, MOST RUDE SERVICE I have ever received on Earth. I wish I could give zero stars. My Dad and I ordered the day's "special," a 13 oz. steak, medium rare. I waited over a hour--at a time that was off peak. When I asked a manager for an explanation/some compensation, she declined. Then loudly announced to the bartenders and patrons that I was "cut off" from ordering more alcohol after I had ordered only 1 beverage. I was complaining about the lateness of my meal because I did NOT want to order an additional beverage! Cody's is a scam to deliver meals late, cold, and sub-par, not-so-subtly pushing patrons to order another drink while they endure excessive wait times for a simple, mediocre meal. I reached out directly to the owner, Nicole, to express my concerns before writing this most negative review of my life, and she hung up on me! DO NOT EAT HERE, they don't deserve your business. read more

Cody's is a great restaurant with delicious food, tremendous staff service and good prices. Our server, Mia, tonight was wonderful in every way - cute personality, efficient, aims to please, engages with customer and is so enjoyable to chat with! read more

Horrible prime rib. 12 Oz was only 7 Oz with the fat. 20 Oz wasn't even flat. Big on one side like an end piece. Not even medium rare. Waited for 15 minutes for check. Brought the wrong beer through the dinner. Never again. No star read more

I liked this place. I really liked how the place was decorated. I loved the classic car truck outside and the license plates all over the place. The place defenetly had character. They have a nice shady outside sitting area. As you walk in they have a huge barrel of roasted peanuts to the left. They have some in bags for you to take. The service is good. The staff is very nice. I was not very hungry, but I wish I had been. I saw I things I wanted to ordere. I order Cosby's Cosby's scallops and my friend had the cheese fries. I liked my scallops. The scallops were not in the menu. The server told me about it. They came display in creative tray. That was cute. A nice eye catching idea. The scallops were bread. That gave it a nice crunch. They had a nice size to them. They also tasted great. They came with two sauses. One tasted sweet with a little spice. The other tasted like mayonnaise. My friends cheese fries were exelent. They had bacon. I live bacon and yes tons of two types of cheese. I liked it. I only wish I had more room to finish it. I had a good experience here. read more

The food is delicious, the service is on point and the atmosphere is great. We really enjoyed our time here.

The baby back ribs were tender but super salty. The salad was not good. The only good thing was the rolls with cinnamon butter. I'm very disappointed. I'm sorry I had to only give 2 stars. read more

ice tea was like water , potato was burnt and the steak was dark on outside and raw in the middle.Had to bring meat home to cook it!

The food was great and restaurant was busy but the employees were inconsiderate about how loud they were yelling announcements right next to peoples ears. I also spotted a waiter sneezing while holding food, not covering his mouth. read more

Cody's Original Roadhouse - 6oz Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon (medium) - Steakhouses Near Me - Crystal River, Florida

Had the prime rib and it was terrible. Ordered it medium raw and came out raw and fatty, too tough to cut through the fatty tissue.

Great food and service! I especially liked the French Onion Soup! Food was presented well and served in a timely manner. Quesadillas and a large burger done to perfection! read more

Food was good, nice selection, very fair prices and the service was great No negatives here !

Visiting from New Jersey and read very positive reviews so we decided to check them out on our last night in Florida. We had dinner here tonight and it couldn't have been better. Ordered the porterhouse and my wife had the filet. Steaks were cooked exactly as requested and delicious. The bottomless salad and fresh rolls with cinnamon butter were a very pleasant surprise, not to mention it was buy one get one free for beers. Our server was Maddi - she's phenomenal!! Great service, great attitude and great sense of humor. We'll definitely be visiting again when we get back down here and will be asking for Maddi. read more

What happened to this place? I visit my family there a couple of times a year and haven't been in awhile. It was my favorite place to have dinner until now. My brother and I went on Monday evening and really disappointing food and service. The server took our order in a timely way but didn't seem like she wanted to be there. While we waited between salad and the meal, I noticed that a large table next to us received their food in stages. The food definitely is off. The salad used to be my favorite part but it was soggy and tasteless. My brother's prime rib was fatty and looked like it came straight out of the freezer. We didn't get asked if we wanted additional drinks or dessert, either. For over $60, way over priced for sad food and service. read more

Place is a mess ever since new owner took over. Lady's bathroom literally stinks, floor sticky, no napkins at the bar, etc. Really gone down hill in addition to being written up several times by Food and Beverage inspectors recently. read more

Definitely a roadhouse vibe! Food & service were both great! HUGE portion sizes!! Would definitely eat here again.

Filet is consistently excellent; however, the women's restroom is so disgusting that I had to lower my rating. Floor has been "under construction" for over a year, and it is filthy. Stall dividers are filthy. Toilets are iffy. Wish I had taken a picture...so gross. read more

Cody's steakhouse bar none is the best steakhouse around. The food here is fabulous,in our opinion this restaurant was far greater than the Gordon Ramsey's "HELLS KITCHEN" Of Las Vegas,Nevada. Our waitress Ms. Cindy with her courtesy and professionalism always smiling, creating such a southern welcome hospitality type experience. Now they say "you get what you paid for in life" It's true here if you want the best of everything in dining out, Than look any further, put past the pricing and enjoy Cody's finest foods and world class services read more

Last night in Florida, we decided to try this restaurant because the parking lot was constantly packed. It was not because of the food folks, the reason is because the service was so poor. We are easygoing and realize the pandemic hit the food service industry hard but waiting 20 minutes for a drink order and acknowledgement from staff is a bit too much. If you decide to dine here, do not make after dinner plans because you will be late. read more

The restaurant is disorganized and waiters have tables on each end of the floor! The service is awful. It's busy but if a floor manager existed there wouldn't be a problem. The waiter wasn't the issue, it's management or lack of! read more

Wow. Really don't know where to begin. I sat at the bar and noticed that the 2 bartenders where more busy talking to staff than the customers. I ordered the 10 oz Sirloin and it was so grizzly I couldn't even eat it. I tried about half of it, and just couldn't eat. My jaw was tired from chewing. Bartender was absolutely clueless when she asked me how everything was. I told her about the steak and she did NOT even apologize for it. Very disappointing. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good as was the salad. I don't know if I will be back there again. read more

This place never disappoints. We come a few times a year and my husband always gets the ribs. I change it up each time. Always delicious.

Hearty meals. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Ribs were also very good. Was busy & lively on a Monday night. Definitely worth a try.
