I've been living in Morgantown for a few years and had heard rumbles about a delicious restaurant in Fairmont. Before moving away from the great state of WV, my husband and I ventured here from Morgantown to see what all of the fuss was about. My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and professionalism of the service. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that the cocktails were a little disappointing. We ordered takeout. My beef and mushroom with Udon noodles. It was great tasting, but the presentation was weak. Kinda dumped into a box. My partner had the House Blend salad for $8, that was a bust. Weak greens and not much at more. Hardly worth the price. The potential for eating in is definitely there. That I would certainly try. read more

Normally we love this place but the service and menu seemed to change and not for the better. Waited an hour for our food Friday night. And after the wait , the two new prawn dishes were bland and a bit disappointing. We have had such good dishes there but never exemplary service. Hope it was just an off night. read more

Service was great! Food was delicious and portions were plenty! There were 3 of us in town for a baseball tournament. I had Chickpea Falafel. Oh my goodness!! These were 5 star on their own. I didnt even need the dipping sauces. I will be in search of a recipe to make these on my own. I also had the Red Thai Coconut Curry, added chicken. It was too spicy for me, but the easily rectified that my providing me with more rice and veggies to dilute. Perfect amount of spice after that. Best of all there was no extra charge. Person 2 had Crab Ragun and Brown Palm Salmon. These were both good. Salmon was cooked to perfection and ginger was not overwhelming. Person 3 had Ole Tex Burger. He stated it was the best burger he has had in 55 years!! Specifically noting he could taste everything on the burger on it's own. Waitress was super nice, took good care of us and had no problem answering our questions about menu items. Attempted to Order DoorDash as I have done in the past, never had any issues, I also go in very regularly, always a good experience. However, today after waiting 45 min, I got a phone call from the dasher, she informed me that Cody's is charging the customer an additional 20 dollars per order. She then but a lady on the phone who blamed everything on Cody. Why do they not pull their restaurant from DoorDash? Why do they need to put the customer in the middle of their spat? read more

We came in for lunch and there was one table of 1 and 2 people at the bar. We decided to give this place a try. I ordered a cup of the chili and the farmer's harvest salad while my coworker ordered the standard burger. Three tables walked in after us and two of the tables got their food before us. Maybe they pre-ordered, regardless, our food took a little longer. The chili was very very sweet, the waitress said it was a sweet pepper chili, it was good but after awhile got a little overbearing with the sweetness. Cody's......Who would think that in a new, small strip shopping center in WV a place like this would exist? Not me, but the several other reviews lead me there. I was road weary and did not want to get in the car, and staying at the Courtyard it was a 2 minute walk. Very interesting eclectic menu, I had some ultra fresh spring rolls that were crispy and seasoned to perfection and did not bog me down like the fried cousins might. Next, it was on to the pork belly, crunchy, sweet, spicy, flavorful and savory perfection. I enjoy curry and the Penang curry had a nice little sweet pop smoothed out with just enough heat.They want to win, the chef/owner is in the kitchen. My choices leaned to the Thai side but the menu is eclectic and extensive without being a novel like a larger/chain restaurant would deliver. I love supporting a sole proprietor and the employees are engaged and love to mix exotic cocktails as well. Being a teetotaler I did not imbibe, but they were crafting up some new concoctions on a night that was off to a slow start. When I left, they were getting several tables filled up, so apparently the word is getting out there. I suspect that when I come back out to this area they will have a crowd as their following builds, at least that's my hope for them. I left very satisfied, not stuffed and look forward to my next culinary adventure in Bridgeport WV. read more

This restaurant has a very exciting and creative menu both food and drink. From Louisiana crawfish etouffee, to ribeye steak and frites. The kitchen staff is incredible and the front of the house ties the food and experience all together. . . The easy going yet still professional, and knowledgeable servers and bartenders have created a very welcoming atmosphere. I see Cody's as a refreshing place for the Bridgeport area, causing me to keep coming back. read more

I lived in Las Vegas for 12 years and traveled to several different states and countries and I would put the food and service toe to toe with many 5 star restaurants I have eaten at. My wife is very picky and she ate everything. She usually is not happy with at least something at most places; not here. This place is a hidden gem! We are here for business and wanted a decent place to get dinner and a drink or two. The bartender recommended a drink special called a "Raspberry Tickle" and it was so good. Everyone was friendly. Food was DELICIOUS. (I had the chicken cheesesteak) Drinks were quick and quite tasty. I went here on Valentine's weekend. Wanted to give them another try. Once again, very disappointing. Other than the server, Amanda, waiting on too many tables, the experience was dreadful. It was 32 degrees outside, yet the AC was on. When your patrons have to eat with their coats on, there is an issue. Appetizers were cold and tasteless. My wife had the White Truffle hash, it was cold and swimming in the sauce. I had the scallops and they were cold to the touch. Should have sent them back, but decided to keep going. The salads were nothing special. The house salad with their house dressing was not very good. I had the Short ribs - they came out looking burnt. No real taste to them and they were suppose to be slightly spicy. The salmon and risotto was cold. The risotto was mushy and did not seem fresh at all. The broccoli was the only decent thing that was served. The mushrooms were tasteless and looked to be burnt as well. We had enough and asked to get the desert to go. They were out of chocolate cake. Of the other 2 deserts, only one seemed that it would travel as the other was served with ice cream. We got the Turkish Delight, it was horrible and looked worst than it tasted. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Cody's again. Good luck, but they need help that is for sure. read more

Such a great place to sit at the bar and enjoy a few drinks and a good meal. Wine list is great, you can't find better in the area. The craft cocktail menu is on point. I recommend the Korean bbq skewers, sriracha fries, taco Americana, and ribeye. I actually recommended anything on the menu. Oh and finally a place that serves Sunday brunch! Last nite was Atlantic Char w/ mushroom and basalmic glaze gnocci followed by the Elvis donuts stuffed with peanut butter+banana (awesome). The gnocci+glaze were incredible. The most consistently personable staff I have encountered in many travels. Very nice craft beer selection (not huge list but quite nice). I had the Cornish game hen but the accompanying risotto w/ seasonal veggies was the star. Sat at the bar and the service was excellent. Attentive without hovering or intruding. They probably had about 8-9 craft brews on the menu plus the normal assortment of pedestrian beer selections, plus some not yet on the menu. Came in 2 days before Christmas with my husband. We have a tradition, since becoming parents, to treat ourselves to a nice, kid-free meal every year for Christmas. The holidays are rough for everyone, this year especially. This year we decided to try Cody's for the first time. Initially, it was great. Great atmosphere- beautiful decor, quiet, and soft lighting. Friendly and helpful staff. We shared a couple small appetizers so that we could get a true taste-test. I got the barbacoa tacos and my husband got a burger. The food was sensational! We loved every bite. We were stuffed about halfway through. Absolutely delicious, but we couldn't possibly eat anymore. So good, we wanted to-go boxes to take home our leftovers. Our waitress brings the check, we ask for boxes, and she takes our food. Presumably to box it up for us. How nice of her. She comes back (without our food) to pick up our check. We ask for boxes once more, just to clarify our initial request. She assures us that, yes, they have boxes and she'd be happy to provide them. Great! She takes the check and lingers around the register and doesn't bring our food back to us. So then my husband goes up to her at the register and confirms, once more, that she heard our request for to-go boxes. She then proceeds to let us know that she had completely discarded our food! We call the restaurant soon after leaving, to let them know we were dissatisfied. They dismiss our complaints entirely. We call back once more, because we knew they didn't take our concern seriously- judging by the waitress's poor attitude. She let us know the owner was out of town and would handle it in a few days when he returned. We have yet to hear back from anyone there. We spent over $60 on food that we barely got to eat! Don't waste your money, folks. You may as well light your cash on fire. read more

This restaurant is not what people are expecting. The food appears different but always an upset. Every single time from the food to the extreme wait, we are always disappointed. The service is beyond extremely slow (1-hour and 10 minutes for brunch to be served). This was when they weren't even busy. I would rather cook it myself or go to a real restaurant that appreciate my business. I called them on a Holiday to check if they were open and the owner says: "Ehh, I gave the wait staff the weekend off, hell with em this weekend" as if he could care less about the customers which is about right comparing my experiences here.
