I was in town and looking for a quick easy spot to grab lunch and spotted this when I stopped at the local bakery. It sounded unique. They have a regular menu with sushi, appetizers, poke bowls and boba teas. But their main attraction is the Create Your Own Bowl, you pick a base whether it be rice, lo mein, or ramen. Next you go up to the bar and choose your veggies, protein, and sauces. (I was a newbie and told I didn't add enough for my money's worth) but I know for next time. Once you fill your bowl you leave it with your table ticket and wait for them to bring it to you. It was very delicious and be prepared to take a to go box with you. We were here about a month ago to celebrate my nephews birthday. Our bill was over $200 (including a 25% tip we left). We expected it though as we ordered a lot of food wanting to try quite a few things and figured we'd be taking lots of left overs home. The food was excellent and our server was great. The reason for four instead of 5 stars though is at the end I also ordered a custom poke bowl to go. I got my poke bowl and our poor server came over and told me his boss yelled at him because I got a second scoop of sushi, I did one scoop tuna and one scoop salmon. The guy making the bowl did not say a thing about it being extra... Anyway, we'd just paid a $200+ bill, tipped really well, and then I was given a second bill for $3 for the scoop. I was totally fine paying it, but it did rub me the wrong the way how the owner got huffy for $3 when we had that large of a bill we'd just paid. read more

Stopped by here on a holiday because a lot of places were closed in town. Alas, the Haiwain bowl was horrible. It was too overloaded with fruit - canned pineapple, mango and the mango dressing was gooey and cloyingly sweet. The food is very fresh, but know that the salmon is all sushi salmon (uncooked), regardless of what type of bowl you order. Also, make sure you ask for what you want in your bowl if you sit at the table to order - like maybe rice (sushi rice only), noodles, or lettuce, or you will just get lettuce. Beware of seaweed as a major ingredient in most bowls. I didn't want sushi when I went, so inspite of a huge number of menu options, it was all mostly sushi-like, but In a bowl form. Unfortunately, the hubby and I don't agree on this one... We came here for the 1st today (Christmas eve), he says he will be back. I say no thanks! The service was great. It was the food that was no good for me. I had a poke bowl, and it was covered in yum-yum sauce. The sauce overpowered the freshness of the bowl. All you need is a little soy sauce. We (group of 4) we're seated immediately, our waitress was very friendly, we received all of our orders in great timing, she (our waitress) was on top of keeping our drinks filled, and on top of all that, our food was delicious. Clean and friendly staff but we were disappointed about the food. The stir fry noodles, didn't have the right taste.

They treat you like they've known you for a long time. We were promptly seated and our waitress, Mia, was so sweet and nice. She made our visit extra special by checking in on us multiple times and making sure we had everything that we needed for our meals. I was very pleasantly surprised. The inside is very cute and the fact that you can make your own poke bowl is very cool. They are going to get their liquor license soon. The staff was fantastic. This place is not the "great" place I thought it'd be based on 4.9 Google stars we saw on the day we picked this place. In short, I do not think the value or flavor are there. Went there with a group and had opportunity to taste various offerings on a Sunday right as they were opening. Kudos for the freshness of the veggies in the stir fries/bowls, friendly server, fast service and cleanliness of the dining room. The sushi was fresh and tasted OK. Sadly, the proteins (we had beef, chicken, shrimp across various of their signature bowls) were extremely chewy/ rubbery and the quantity of protein was small. In all, the bowls mostly consisted of bland tasting rice (as a filler, with a few token pieces of protein and veg). All the ingredients in the fried rice had a funny taste with gritty texture/uneven cooking, making us think that the order was made on day before and reheated when we ordered. For all bowls (including the fried rice) there wasn't much flavor unless you added significant amount of soy sauce or "yum" sauce which suspiciously tastes like mayo with ketchup. The women's bathroom had mold and a drain that smelled of sewage mixed with cleaning agent. I am glad that this place exists and has a lot of fans. I personally am not. However, I think that with some tweaks, it would be much better and it'd win more people over. read more
