There are many components of Champion Cheerleading and Tumbling. This review is specifically…read morerelated to recent changes regarding the Little Explorers Academy. When we joined Champions Cheer and Tumbling over 9 months ago we were incredibly pleased with the Little Explorers Academy. The coach was organized, bubbly and engaging with the children. As a mom, she knew how to interact and redirect littles to try and complete the tasks at hand. As little explorers, demonstration of each task, correct names of bars, beams, jumps, tumbles were given. She was incredibly fit and eager to encourage them to try new things and cheer them on. Recently there was a change in management and disappointedly, we have unenrolled due to a drastic change in the quality of service provided. The new coach would start class late, stop class in the middle of instruction to wait for a latecomer and sometimes end class early. She would not demonstrate jumps, rolls or certain positions properly if at all and often would not call things by their proper names. (For example: a straddle jump would be referred to as pizza legs.) Young children were expected to know what to do, and modifications were not offered or built upon to help children gain understanding or knowledge- instead kids were given a snarky tone and irritated helping hand. When asked how she was liking her new job as coach her response was "Ehh. Not really." We were beyond blessed with the previous instructor and would recommend steering clear of this program until change comes to play.

They bluntly ignore other parents when they need help or have a question. Team spirt is not part of this cheer. One girl pushed another girl cause she was 1st for once coming out at a recent competition. That little girl who pushed the other girl mom is part of the click. Apple does not fall far from the tree. That said I will be up front my daughter missed days but had doctors note or reasons that where legit. That said she still performed better the most of the girls there. My daughter had a very personal issues that was meant to be kept between owner and us. Guess what happened the other little girls knew about it. So personal issues are not kept secret. On top of that we had covid and where out for 2 weeks. Yet they still used that as missed days. Also they sent a email out calling out my daughter. If the owner sees this I am giving one day or I will file suit.

Love, love, love the Camp Active summer camp at Alamo Gymnastics! This is probably the most…read moreorganized and informative camp I've ever enrolled my kids in. My 9yo daughter went for 2 full weeks (8:00-4:00) and my 5yo son did 2 of their half-days (8:30-1:30). Both kids had a blast this summer! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. My daughter takes gymnastics classes here, so this camp is just another great service that they offer. Rates are on par with other camps. Electronic devices are prohibited during this active camp, which I think is a great policy! Kids do not need to be plugged in everyday. I like how the kids are grouped by age and each week has a different theme (sports, space exploration, safari, etc.). They do a theme-related craft each day, which is cute. We get a kick out of them, even though some are geared toward a much younger age than my 9yo daughter - we just giggle at those and I tell her how cute she is. She rolls her eyes - it's a lot of fun. They get free play in the little gym from 8:00-8:45 before they break into their age groups. They take a couple of snack breaks (dry snacks provided) and a lunch (parent provides). They go back and forth between the big and little gyms throughout the day, and around pick-up time (4PM), they're usually watching a movie. Sign-in at drop-off and ID check and sign-out at pick-up. You can register week-by-week online. You can uncheck days during the week if you know you won't be sending them every day and only pay for the days they will attend. This worked great when we had a dental appointment scheduled during one of the days, so I only paid for 4 days that week. They have a flexible refund policy too. You can pay an extra $10/day if you need extended care from 4-6 PM. The coach will send you an email the week before camp to introduce themselves and provide camp-specific info. This is a great touch and really helpful for parents to stay informed of procedures and expectations. One tip for them: update your information form that parents fill out to remove the info about swimming, since it's no longer offered during the camp. Other than that, keep doing what you're doing!
