Such an amazing playground for kids in the San Antonio area! Double win, it's mainly a covered playground, woooo! Great for beating the TX heat (when it's that time!) Very clean and maintained as well and lots of seating, grass areas surrounding the main playground which is nice! A good amount of picnic tables for parties or if you want to sit and eat some lunch with friends. Bathrooms are are individual rooms (x 5) and from what I hear are clean, I haven't had the chance to use them the last 2 times I went. My son LOVES this spot, so many different things to do and try to exhaust his never-ending energy! My 1 year old daughter on the other hand, hahah she just wants to be like big bro and follow him around and try to do all the things with him which is pretty adorable. Parking here is a little crazy but you can definitely get lucky as people come and go all the time so you'll find a spot eventually!! Love this spot and will frequent this place more often!!

Awesome playground with equipment for 2-5 and 5-12 year olds. We had 20 months to 10 years and all between and every single kid said how much they liked it. Personally I loved the double swings and how clean and well-planned it was. Parking can get tight on nice weekends. 8 picnic tables under a pavilion. individual bathrooms plus 2 family bathrooms, all clean and obviously well cared for. Lovely butterfly and pollinator garden - great for teaching kids about the importance of "bugs". Soccer field near the turnoff and plenty of wide open spaces. Dog friendly.

Very clean and lots of room for kids to run and play. 5 or more covered bathrooms and a handful of picnic tables.

Yanaguana is one of the best (if not the best) kid playground/park in the city!…read more Yanaguana Garden is located within Hemisfair. The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. A new toddler play area which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.

It features hundreds of trees and a scenic stream winding through the grounds, along with plenty of wildlife like ducks, geese, and vultures near the Joske Pavilion. There is tons of open space to lay out a blanket for a picnic, plus walking/running trails, baseball fields, a couple of playgrounds, plenty of tables and benches, and great paths for biking. Maybe I'm daft, but I couldn't figure out the trails. Every trail I started, ended after a few hundred feet. After a short time of starting and stopping and finding the maps vandalized so I couldn't figure out where on the map we were, we gave up and walked down the street to Mila for coffee. I love that they have maps set up throughout, but every single one I stopped at had the "you are here" section scratched out. Not being from San Antonio, I couldn't orient myself. So that was a little problem. Otherwise, the area a lot of picnic areas set up for grilling and eating with plenty of space for play. You just might have to Hansel and Gretel your way out though.
