Bucky's first dog park experience was at Nani Falcone Park. I really appreciated the two separate enclosures for small and big dogs. I had Bucky in the big enclosure for a while and he seemed a little overwhelmed, but we moved to the smaller enclosure. Bucky had more fun there with dogs more his size. Unlike the big enclosure, the small one didn't have a fountain for the dogs to drink from, nor did they have any little obstacle course pieces to enhance their fun. Regardless we had a grand time and plan to come back!

My family loves this park. We've been coming here since my oldest started to walk (12 Y/O now). I love that there's separate play structures for different age ranges & clearly labeled. This park is always clean (even the port-o-potties surprisingly) and there's never a shortage of kiddos having fun. The benches under the shaded pavilion is perfect for a little picnic on these scorching hot Texas days. Don't forget your water!! There are little water fountains, but the water is usually hot. The walking trail is perfect and a little less than a mile around the loop. There's even a dog park next to it and an entire frisbee golf course. This has become wildly popular especially since the pandemic. Just watch out when you're on the parts that are in the woods because there's chiggers--yikes! I did 4 stars because I wish the smaller play structured area was more crawling infant friendly. It would be great to see an upgrade to the mulch - a soft padded flooring! Maybe a swing set including infant swings.

Great community park, spacious areas. Disc Golf Area, open fields for baseball practices or soccer. Has kids playground area as well dog park for big dogs. I'm not sure how long the sidewalk goes but it's pretty big.

Disc golf review. Challenging course that overall is a lot of fun. Good shade and plenty of difficult holes. Number 10 is hard to figure out on first visit but take you around the woods and the next few holes take you into the woods. I got lost after #15 and couldn't find the tee for 16 so I played 20 and 21. When it gets cooler, this is an ideal course!

This has become our go to park when the kids want to play for a long period of time and everyone wants to have their own space. Located directly across the street from the Maverick library, this ends up being a good way to spend a couple hours in the area. Not to mention that pump it up is around the corner and there's an H-E-B to grab some items for a picnic. Love how close this park is to us!

This review is for the dog park. There's not a lot of grass left in the dog park and it really makes for a muddy mess. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was some sort of hose/wash station to wash the mud off your dog's paws post romp at that park but there isn't. Plus, it seems a lot of people don't pick up after their dogs at this park which is quite unfortunate. Be sure to watch your step because again, if you step on a landmine there is no way to wash it off your shoes. It's not at the fault of the dog park though, they have poop bags readily available and trash bins at the entrance of the dog park, it's just irresponsible and careless dog owners. Some people ruin it for everybody. *sigh* The park has an agility tunnel, small hoop jumps and small set of weave polls. It also has a separate park for small dogs. Other than that, it's a pretty simple park with quite a bit of open space but it could definitely use some upgrades and perhaps some good mulching. Unfortunately, dog parks in San Antonio are far and few between so you can't be too choosy.

My favorite part of the running/walking trail and my little running buddy :)

I love this little park. There's a skate boarding park, dog park, walking/jogging trail, playground, small softball field, and disc golf course. The dog park has two separate areas for large dogs and small dogs, and has grass with a few trees and a bench. It's not huge, but it's plenty of room to let your dog stretch their legs out. I also really like that it's grass and not mulch. I feel like the mulch tears up the dogs pads quickly. The trail is paved, so very accessible with strollers. There's a nice little wooded area, I have seen a few deer, rabbits, and some other little critters, although I never feel the "outside of city" vibe. There is a covered area also with picnic tables. There is also ample parking, port-a- potties, and water drinking fountains. All in all a really nice, clean neighborhood park!

About 3 weeks ago, my dog and I got attacked by another dog - (an Akita). My 2 golden retrievers are not whatsoever aggressive in anyway. I got bitten by the dog and didn't even realize it because I was pulling my dog off of the other dog. Two people a black man and an older white lady pulled off the other dog. The owners never came forward not even a "hey are you okay or I'm so sorry". I was in complete shock and full with adrenaline that I didn't even bother to look for them because I was busy checking to see if my dog was okay. I unfortunately was not. I got 3 puncture wounds & was bleeding nonstop. I got my dogs and went home & straight to urgent care and got 3 stitches. We have been going there for a while and never had a problem. Some people did ask if I was okay and if I needed assistance and was very grateful for them. The park itself is a nice concept. If a dog fight occurs please make sure everyone is okay, all I wanted to know is if the dog was up to date with his vaccines.

Nani Falcone Park is a super nice, new park located by the HEB off of Bandera and Gilbeau. I gravitate toward it because of their stellar, 9-hole disc golf course, but the word on the street is that their playground and pavilions are pretty neat too. First of all: the disc golf course. It isn't huge; however, it is really well-maintained. I have played on lots of courses that leave where you are supposed to throw the Frisbee up to interpretation. Sometimes, where you are supposed to stand and where you are heading is really more of a suggestion that a clear cut course. But Nani doesn't disappoint. The standing pads are concrete and you can always see the final destination. They even have quite a few signs by the concrete pad that let you know how many throws it should take. A few of these have been removed or stolen (who would still a disc golf sign? C'mon people!), but the course is pretty well marked. Second: the playground. Considering Nani is a pretty new park, the playground has some cool features. For example, there is this little wheel suspended from a bar that the kiddos can just dangle and twirl on. I am tempted to give it a try, but it was occupied by a 5-year old last time I was there. Thwarted again! Overall, Nani is probably my favorite park as of late. There is also a walking trail around the disc golf course and two pavilions. My favorite feature is the well-maintained course and the alluring playground. If you have a Frisbee or are a 5-year old at heart --both apply to me-- don't miss it.

Great dog park! I love bringing both of my dogs here. This park has a small and big dog area sectioned off. The big dog park is well over an acre, so it's nice and big. The small dog park is a good size, too! They have waste bags to keep the park very clean. There is also dog water bowls and an agility course on the big dog side.

    Very open!!

Very clean course, but without any obstacles. I'm not a frequent disc golfer, but my bf is a little too good....he said the 'holes' are too close from the 'tee off' area. I even managed to make par. Regardless, made for a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.
