Such a beautiful trail park. Love walking along the water. Lots of cyclists here, great for those who wanna bike here!

This park is beautiful and the structures are really cool to look at. It was stroller friendly which we enjoyed because we took our baby with us to enjoy some fresh air. There's tons of educational signage all around the park from flowers, wildlife, and even facts about the San Antonio river. We also enjoyed looking at all the ducks and even spotted a turtle! Ample parking at this park which is nice considering most parks around here have zero parking or 5 spaces at most. We were even surprised to see they had a bathroom here! It was spotless which is always a plus. The trail is connected all the way through to downtown if you wanted to walk that far. Tons of bicyclists. Overall, probably one of the nicer parks in San Antonio. We felt incredibly safe coming here.

Great park by the San Antonio river and San Pedro Creek! Confluence park is located just south of downtown, a couple minutes away from the Blue Star Complex. From Confluence park you can walk to different directions of the San Antonio riverwalk and the San Pedro creek. Keep in mind that the San Antonio riverwalk has better trails so definitely better for biking and/or walking. The San Pedro creek portion is still a work in progress, and from experience there can be a lot of street dogs that are NOT friendly (beware). On the weekends this park is full of people riding their bikes, so definitely be careful and mindful of that when going for a walk. Also, there is very little shade in this area of the river, so highly recommend coming here in the mornings. The San Antonio Park Foundation is always organizing free events at this park, so highly recommend checking their website for their next activation.

Cute little park that I recommend checking out in San Antonio. The park is pretty small but it's a great place to explore. There is a lot of construction going on but the park leads to the River Walk so you can walk down the pathway. I can definitely see how a lot of people do wedding shoots here but it might be hard to explore really at this time given the construction.

    It's truly a beautiful path

I discovered this park recently, & went early to go walking. Got there at 0800, because its Texas...lol I walked 2.5 miles, slowly,in an hour. Stopped & talked with a few others along the way. Met a delightful Irishman, & his pittie puppy. Made me want to be home. Saw lots of wonderful wildlife: a crane, ducks, snake birds, fish, turtles, & more. The plant life is wonderful, even in our drought. As a photographer, I went this 1st time to scope out potential areas to bring clients, see my info in the photos. There are multiple areas to capture beautiful moments. It's not only beautiful to walk along the path, it's peaceful. Lots of bike riders, runners & walkers. Everyone is friendly as we pass one another. I will be going back. I truly enjoyed this park. The City of San Antonio has done a great job cleaning up the river area.

Confluence park is at the confluence of the San Antonio River and San Pedro Creek. There is a medium sized parking area, a learning area about local plants. For me, the biggest draw is the trail that descends onto the Mission Reach of the Riverwalk. Confluence park is just across the river from Concepcion Park, which also offers additional parking (and a public swimming pool). After taking in a few interpretive nature signs, you can easily walk over to two historical sites: Mission Concepcion and the site of the Battle of Concepcion. This is a nice centrally located place to start exploring some of the history of San Antonio. For more info, take a look at my review: https://texastrailrunning.com/confluence-park

Parking lot - don't blink or you'll miss it.

This place is so new it still has that new car smell y'all! As the other reviewers have mentioned, it's a great educational tool for learning about how the San Antonio River Authority is improving flood protection in the area, the native plants they are reintroducing to the area, and it's also great for just getting outdoors! Before I blabber on and bore you to death with other details, make sure you visit their site and print out the first six pages from this link before you go. It's for a self-guided tour and will shed more light on the park than I ever could. It will take you outside of the park and onto the Mission Reach section of the San Antonio River. It's a one-mile round trip and appears to be entirely ADA accessible. http://confluencepark.sariverfound.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Confluence-Park-Self-Guided-Tour.pdf One of the coolest things I was able to enjoy (thanks to the self-guided tour) was finding the spot in the pavilion with "the loud rushing sound." I don't think I would have noticed it had I not read this before I went. This is a great spot for jumping onto the Mission Reach trails if you are biking, jogging, walking a dog, or even kayaking/canoeing on the SA River. Yep, there is a kayak "access point" right down the hill. There's a station with bike tools, an air pump, and even access to the rent-a-bikes that you can check out and then drop off at the other missions as you travel. If you want to walk a bit further, you can follow the river Mission Reach for about a mile and visit Mission Concepcion. Want to walk further you say? Get back on the river Mission Reach and it will take you to Mission San Jose - about another 3 miles. You have to exit the river and walk the sidewalks at street level for a little bit but there are signs that point the way. One last thing - if you're like me and you need art and symbolism explained to you, read the first part of the self-guided tour link. The name of the park isn't just about the confluence of the two rivers, but also confluence of several other things - TAKE the self-guided tour - trust me on this one!

Impressive. Most impressive. I think I learned more here in the half an hour of strolling than college put together. Yes, 9 years of college down the drain. I think Edmond said it best with his tip: come get educated. This park should be what all park should be like self-sustaining, environment friendly and cool, really cool. It's structures, function and purpose are the best part of it - come and read and find how this park is helping the environment.

We got married here recently. We rented the Pavillion by the hour which honestly you don't have to. Not many people go here. You can just show up do your thing and leave. The view is beautiful and the Pavillion is perfect to create that space for ceremonies or events. They promised me a sign staying our wedding would be in progress which they never did. Strangers were walking around. I wouldn't recommend anyone renting it out because it is a public space.

I came out here on a Saturday afternoon for a stroll and it is such a nice park! You can tell that the city has put a lot of effort into making this park nice. Pros -Cleanliness. Everything looks relatively new including the pavement, structures, and the plants are constantly being kept up with. -I loved the fact the this park is very scenic. It's a very pretty park with lots of spots to admire the sights and take pictures There were 2 photo shoots going on during my visit. -There is also lots of variety. You can bike along river or go for a nice stroll along the trail. There's a lot to do for all ages. The park also has educational signs that teaches you about the surrounding plants that are located nearby. The recommendation: I highly recommend this place if you enjoy parks! Definitely one of the better parks in San Antonio!

Right before leaving San Antonio I decided to stop by here. What a great park!! It had an awesome place to run right by the river. Very calming and peaceful area. There is still renovation being done but this place is definitely a great park to go to for a nice run or bike ride. There are amazing concrete structures that make you go "WOW".. I saw people doing yoga under the structure and can see how this can be peaceful. I would definitely come back for a relaxing jog. All trails are paved by the way!

Listen to Brent's advice ... take the self-guided tour! Brent's review is the best review on Confluence Park so it's hard to figure out what I can add... Well, let me just share my experience: I was lucky enough to actually have a real true to life tour guide when I was introduced to Confluence Park at the Certified Tourism Ambassador / Certified Mission Heritage Ambassador program mixer. (If you are in the hospitality industry and would like more info on CTA, just PM me.) I knew it was a new park but I really had no clue what I was walking into so this event was a nice surprise. I just kept wondering to myself "why would they be scheduling a meeting outside in the heat of July?" Lol. Although it was hot, there was plenty of shade under the Pavilion as you can see by my pics plus being up on the cliff above the San Antonio river, there was a nice little breeze that really helped us in the 100 temps. Vendors for the program mixer included South BBQ (new BBQ joint just down the road), Alamo beer, Mission Kayak, B-cycles which is now known as SwelI Cycles (new name), DJ Steven Lee Moya (he will be at this year's Restored by Light at San Jose Mission in Sept). I came home with a World Heritage shopping gift bag filled with World Heritage Festival medal (Sept), some brochures, pamphlets and flyers including beautiful glossy self-guided tour, a printed power point presentation of the San Antonio River restoration projects, plus many more. Some of info I do remember from the private guided tour: All of the materials at Confluence Park are either concrete or steel as they wanted a park that would last 100+ years. Four local design firms were asked for proposals. Lake Flato brought in a designer from California who had the vision San Antonio River Authority / San Antonio River Foundation was looking for. Native plants and grasses were used throughout the area. This is the largest restored green space in the USA (larger than NYC Central Park). A grove of oak trees were rescued from a Texas ranch and were placed on the west side of the pavilion for instant shade against the setting sun. All of the concrete shade "petal leaves" are designed to catch water which is funneled into an underground man made aquafer then is treated with a UV light to be reused throughout the park, including the toilets. Solar electricity is used and lights are on a automatic timer. The park is not locked up at night although bathrooms are, also on automatic system. The park was designed and built with education in mind, like parking for 3 school busses along the curb in front, funneling of the group into smaller groups, different areas for discussion (exactly like we did on our tour), plus an education center that can fit about 50. The pavilion is available to non-profit groups for meetings or can be rented out to host other type of events such as convention mixers or weddings. This park is a beautiful place to go for a stroll, run along the river or take photos for an occasion. I used to go running here all the time and recently took my engagement photos under the cement structure.
