Strolling in parks after a big meal is a must for us, so we found this park nearby to explore on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Pros - paved path (pretty much impossible to get lost) - path is wide so it's comfortable for runners, walkers, and bikers - clear signs along the way Cons - they have a sewage issue going on right now so parts of the walk were REALLY stinky - the entire trail is quite short, not much to explore - there's construction going on near the trailhead parking lot, so it was confusing to get into the lot It was probably the most disappointing trail we've been so far. It's a place for a nice walk, but there really isn't much to see

The only thing this place is missing is a couple of food trucks. Lots of trees, high grass at times and tons of shade, perfect for those wishing to walk/run/ride in the shade. Now, I'm no friggin tree hugger but this place is quite nice, at least for me: Tobin Park is one of the parks along Salado Creek Greenway and compared to the other parks along the greenway, the one less frequented. And that's an excellent thing, especially if you run or bike, you can almost run/ride with not alot of pedestrian traffic. Just you and nature. Speaking of running and riding, the paved trails are smooth and look like they'd go easy on your feet if you're a runner-not alot of hills either, only at the beginning. Definitely be returning.

So little by little I've been trying to knock out the trails here in San Antonio. You'll definitely run into some wildlife here and you will most likely get your steps in for the day as well. Peaceful and a lot of shade to hide from the summer heat right now. I will pay another visit soon for

I have no idea how long the actual trail is, but my guesstimate is 2-3 miles? Excellent place to bike, jog or even just go on a walk with friends. Choose friends that you haven't seen in a while, otherwise the trail becomes so long that you may potentially run out of things to talk about! And the trail isn't exceptionally beautiful so you can't randomly converse about that... Personally, I'm so paranoid that I don't think I'd ever come here alone. You might get kidnapped or eaten by a deer.

Hey look! It's moms and her two babies!

A list of things that will scare the heck out of you at this park: 1. The rustling of leaves on the ground in the woods as you jog by. You look back and see something move in the trees. You run faster because you don't want whatever it is to start chasing you. You turn back to look, and behold...it's a beautiful deer. 2. You're in full stride and you are so proud of yourself for running so well today. With a smile on your face you run up a slight incline then woosh! A deer runs across the path RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. Yes, reason number two is another deer. 3. No it's not a deer, it's something else in the leaves as you're passing by. Yes. You run faster again. :-) Yes these things scare/startle me as I run here but that's all good stuff. This is a great, small (about 2 mile) trail that's easy to get to and never too crowded. There's bikers, pooches (dog variety and belly variety), walkers, and runners. Great shade on the trails so it was beautiful in summer and still beautiful in the fall. Don't be scared y'all! With as much good food as we eat we can all fit in a little jog or bike ride.

Beautiful and well kept. Lots of shaded areas and love how it connects to the Salado greenway and Macalister Parks.

The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.

They had these really cool korean buildings/monuments that someone build (artists from Korea but look up the city parks for more details). You can't step inside them but very beautiful to look at. For sure a place worth visiting to just sit and relax at if you like.

You can go there for a quick walk or do a few laps around the half mile loop. You can also take your food and have a picnic under the shade of the trees. Parking is available on site and there's plenty of it. The entrance is on one side and the exit is on the other side. There are restrooms available on site, but I didn't use them, so I don't know if they were clean. I would definitely return when I want a short walk in a shaded park.
