Located on the Mission Reach portion of the SA River, it's a nice park with lots of stuff to do! There are two baseball fields with small bleacher seating, a huge pool, a full court covered basketball court, outdoor workout equipment, a small playground, LOTS of open space for football, running around in circles, rolling around in the grass, standing on your head, or what have you. :)
Concrete picnic tables and BBQ grills - but not very many.
There are two parking lots - one on each side of the pool. It's located about half a mile from Confluence Park and the Mission Reach connects the two. From the park, it's a half a mile walk to the actual Mission Concepcion. While you are here, find your way to the edge of the park near the SA River and find the "Mission Portal" (it's a round, stone tower as seen in the photos). From the top of the portal, you can see the top of Mission Concepcion if you look carefully. Steps on one side and an ADA ramp on the other side.
You can also head out further toward Mission San Jose - just a few more miles down the Mission Reach trail.
One last thing to check out while you are here. This site is where the first major skirmish of the Texas Revolution took place. The first Texan to die during the revolution died here, and he was the only one to die in this battle. There's a monument near the pool house on the Theo Avenue side and it explains more about the Texan who died and the Battle of Concepcion. read more
