I lived close enough to be able to walk there on occasion. They have a fun swing set and walking trails, also you can rent out the gazebos for events etc. Cute little park in the middle of the city outskirts. Fun spot!

It is amazing how many parks are in the San Antonio area. Parks of diverse square footage can be found in almost every part of the city, offering an urban environment with which to commune with nature. Orsinger County Park is one of the smaller parks in the city which is in the Shavano area. This park ideal for family events and celebrations. The pavilion in the park, which can be reserved online, holds up to 200 people. There is a huge children's playground and many picnic tables and grills Picnic throughout the park. Although, Orsinger does not have a sizable walking trail, it took me about thirty minutes or less to walk the whole area's circumference, the park is not very crowded on weekdays, and it made for a peaceful walk. I also observed park maintenance crews cleaning and working on the park grounds. Even the restrooms were clean with toilet paper and available soap. Orsinger is one of the great little parks that offer a slice of nature amid the bustling city.

Orsinger County Park is a nice, smaller sized park located on the past Vance Jackson off of Huebner. Its main attractions are a nice, new playground for the kiddos and several short walking trails in the rest of the park. Orsinger also offers a big sandbox, which is a hit with the kids. We went there the first time for a picnic and there was plenty of seating throughout the park. There is also a large pavilion that comes with a kitchen area, which would be perfect for a party or reunion. Orsinger has restrooms that are relatively clean as well. This park is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. November through March and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April through October. The park has plenty of oak trees, as well as some native cactuses along the walking trails. The shade from these trees make Orsinger a good option on a warm day. I wouldn't recommend Orsinger if you want to go for a longer walk or bike ride, as the trails are pretty limited. However, if you are a mom looking for a great place for the kids to get some energy out, Orsinger is perfect.

My nephews and I really like this park! They especially love to play in the sandbox. You need to provide your own toys so don't forget them! They also enjoy bringing their frisbee, soccer ball and football to play in one of the open areas away from the playground. They changed the surface of the playground from mulch to a new smooth rubber one! Less mess and more comfortable for the kids! The playground has a good amount of trees for shade which is really nice. I have also brought one of my dogs here for a walk in the past nice trail that has shade as well. There are plenty of picnic tables to eat at many of them with shade and a pavilion you can rent for special events. Whenever I have come the bathrooms have been clean which is always nice. They also have an area for the kids to wash the sand off of themselves located near the restrooms.

Ask the Community - Orsinger County Park

    Are dogs allowed?

Absolutely! Best to keep them on leash. Unless the park is quite empty, I'll let my dog off leash, or if I am far away from the playground area, although my dog is very disciplined; I don't like people feeling uncomfortable or weirded out when they… Read more

They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.

Parking is available on site and there's plenty of it. The entrance is on one side and the exit is on the other side.
