I like this park. There's a kids play area with swings, monkey bars and slides plus a large sandbox. There's some shade to sit under as a parent, but much of the play area is in sun so keep that in mind! We've gone for short periods of time on hot days. read more

Cute park With a large play structure for both older kids and then one for little kids and there's a bunch of swings which is so nice. It's also pretty shaded since there's lots of trees. There's shaded walking trails but nothing that is like a field to play on. It's also very close to the main road but it is fully fenced around so that's nice. My kids played here for quite a bit because they're such a big play structure and lots of things to do, definitely a great little Park stop. read more

This is a beautiful large park with a huge playground for kids. There are 3 swing areas and two playground areas for different ages. There is also a sand pit. The flooring on the playground is fake grass. There is also a nice walking path in this park. This is also a nice place to have a picnic since there are a bunch of picnic tables all over this park. The park opens at 9am but the closing time varies based off the season. The bathrooms are clean and is well stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. There is even a water fountain area next to the bathroom. Overall, this is a nice big playground with lots of parking and clean bathrooms! read more

OrSing! OrSang? OrSinging? A small, winding park through the burb's of SA! This park has lots of trees- smaller oak trees that bend and curve over a crushed gravel walkway that winds through the shade. There's not much to this park as far as places to run, or to throw a ball. They seem to want you to use the trails, and keep off of the areas in between the trails. They have big boulders to keep park goers on the trails. There's picnic pavilions with BBQ grills, and plenty of parking. They even have a big pavilion for your next corporate party or quinceniera party. I couldn't get in the bathrooms when I went on a weekday at lunchtime. There's a playground with fake grass in the shade that looks inviting, and there's lots of places to walk a dog. Parking is easy- there's way more spots than there will ever be park goers. read more

What a great park for a family get together. There were ample swings sets and playgrounds for different ages to enjoy. There were picnic tables for a leisurely lunch with all 5 of our grandbabies. The one downside was there were quite a few bees and one kiddo got stung. Good idea to bring insect repellent. The kids had a great time regardless. It is amazing how many parks are in the San Antonio area. Parks of diverse square footage can be found in almost every part of the city, offering an urban environment with which to commune with nature. Orsinger County Park is one of the smaller parks in the city which is in the Shavano area. This park ideal for family events and celebrations. The pavilion in the park, which can be reserved online, holds up to 200 people. There is a huge children's playground and many picnic tables and grills Picnic throughout the park. Although, Orsinger does not have a sizable walking trail, it took me about thirty minutes or less to walk the whole area's circumference, the park is not very crowded on weekdays, and it made for a peaceful walk. I also observed park maintenance crews cleaning and working on the park grounds. Even the restrooms were clean with toilet paper and available soap. Orsinger is one of the great little parks that offer a slice of nature amid the bustling city. read more

Meh. Orsinger is a cute park. It has bathrooms, a pavilion, & a play area for the kiddos. The trails are nice if you're just looking to get a brisk walk in or bringing your dog. However, make sure to bring the right shoes for the trails & watch your step. If you're looking for a place to go running & are planning on running more than a mile I'd suggest another park. I've been to nicer parks with more to do. read more

Orsinger County Park is a nice, smaller sized park located on the past Vance Jackson off of Huebner. Its main attractions are a nice, new playground for the kiddos and several short walking trails in the rest of the park. Orsinger also offers a big sandbox, which is a hit with the kids. We went there the first time for a picnic and there was plenty of seating throughout the park. There is also a large pavilion that comes with a kitchen area, which would be perfect for a party or reunion. Orsinger has restrooms that are relatively clean as well. This park is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. November through March and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April through October. The park has plenty of oak trees, as well as some native cactuses along the walking trails. The shade from these trees make Orsinger a good option on a warm day. I wouldn't recommend Orsinger if you want to go for a longer walk or bike ride, as the trails are pretty limited. However, if you are a mom looking for a great place for the kids to get some energy out, Orsinger is perfect. read more

My nephews and I really like this park! They especially love to play in the sandbox. You need to provide your own toys so don't forget them! They also enjoy bringing their frisbee, soccer ball and football to play in one of the open areas away from the playground. They changed the surface of the playground from mulch to a new smooth rubber one! Less mess and more comfortable for the kids! The playground has a good amount of trees for shade which is really nice. I have also brought one of my dogs here for a walk in the past nice trail that has shade as well. There are plenty of picnic tables to eat at many of them with shade and a pavilion you can rent for special events. Whenever I have come the bathrooms have been clean which is always nice. They also have an area for the kids to wash the sand off of themselves located near the restrooms. read more

This park has a good variety of features for how very tiny it is. Upon first impression, it doesn't look like much. Give it time. Explore around. See that trail that goes off behind that building? Walk it. Hell, run it. The trail is surprisingly long and windy (that's windy like loopy, not windy like the wind...) and if trails aren't your thing or you have little ones, take 'em to the swings and playset area. There's even a large sandbox, just don't get in there when it's raining, people look at you funny. But that might have been because I'm 32. Bottom line: This park is nestled in a pretty busy area, especially around rush hour time, so pop in and blow off some steam here instead of in traffic or happy hour. (Though, I'm not always opposed to the latter) read more

We find this park to be great for families. There are several swing sets, even ones for younger children. There are at least 6 slides. There are two areas that mimic rock climbing areas. There are restroom facilities. There are BBQ facilities and places to eat. There's also a sandbox. FYI, it does tend to be busy on good weather days. It's open until 6pm in the winter months, but later during the summer. There's also a good amount of parking. It's just off Huebner between Lockhill-Selma and Vance Jackson - so it's easy to get in and out of.... And if you are planning an event, you can reserve the covered area that's visible when you drive into the parking lot. Overall: Highly Recommend read more

Orsinger Park is a nice little green space in the middle of the city. The playground is a really good size, and even if it's crowded it doesn't seem too crazy. There is a huge sandbox that has digging toys, plenty of swings(for small and big kids), and a nice pavillion that I believe can be rented out for birthday parties and events. The trail that goes around the park is not very exciting, but it's short enough that smaller kids can make the trek around it. An area with outdoor tables has nice big shade trees, so it's helpful on sunny days. It's a good way to wear the kiddo out before grocery shopping at HEB, or retail shopping at Huebner Oaks. I hope our city continues to make parks like this to keep green space in the urban areas. read more

W wonderful park off the long stretching road of Huebner! Plenty for a young child including a "bring your own toys" sandbox and infant swings. The park is very shaded so it can be quite comfortable to be outside even on hotter days. Dogs are welcomed yet not in the playground area. I have seen families using the tables for picnics and people enjoying the atmosphere with a book; so quite the mixed bag of patrons. While we have not walked to it the park is very accessible was nice sidewalks lead right to the entrance. Parking is limited. read more

A cute, small community park backed up to a neighborhood. I came here to relax a bit and play guitar in the shade, just a general get out of the house type deal. The tables were clean and there were no overflowing garbage receptacles. The little gravel trails were cute and easy to navigate. Will be returning with the kids for a day out, soon. read more

I like going to Orsinger Park on my lunch break because it's close to my job and is a great place to get away from the office for a little bit and enjoy my lunch. There are quite a few people who come here and do the same thing, sometimes just pulling into a spot that faces the park and sitting in their car, enjoying the nature and their lunch. The park is off Huebner road so there is a lot of traffic that goes by and you can hear and see the cars. I wouldn't reccommend this as a park if you're looking for some hiking or to escape the city life, but in a quick pinch this park is great. There is a sand play area for kids, a couple of playground areas and a pavillion that you can rent for parties. The park is not that large, but there is a trail that you can walk along. I don't know the exact length of it but it may be close to a mile or less (circle) if you walk the entire path. The park is well kept and I always see employees working hard to keep it in tip top shape. Come check it out next time your in the area. :) read more

I decided to try this park out after reading about it in an article written by a San Antonio mom with infants. She recommended it because of the shaded playground and sandbox, so I decided to give it a try. If you're not paying attention, you could miss that there is a park as you drive by. It's in close proximity to the road, but it's fenced off safely. There seemed to be walking trails further in the interior of the park but they were not marked too well and I didn't feel comfortable exploring further by myself and little one. The playground area though is nice and the author who had recommended it was right: it is shaded. There are infant swings as well, which were perfect for me as my little one uses those. There are barbecue grills behind the playground area that people can utilize and there are picnic tables scattered around as well. I did notice that there is a communal wash station for kids who got sandy and they can wash themselves off at, which I thought was considerate. Overall, I thought it was a nice park but I would prefer more diversity or better walking areas. There is only so long I can push an infant in a swing before we both get bored :-) It is a nice change to the routine though, but I wouldn't say it's the best park in SA. read more

We often visit this park with our Kid. The play area is great and clean. It has all amenities such as restrooms, a pavillion for parties and BBQ pits. It's a really nice park. I live really close to hear so it definitely helps that it's only a small walk away! It's near the road, but obviously gated. There's loads of playscapes, picnic tables, sandbox, smaller swings for youngsters (and even smaller ones for 1 yr olds). It's an awesome park, if you go there in the day, it tends not to be as busy but if you go around 6-8pm, it is quite busy! But it's not too crowded, it's very well spread out. read more

I jogged to Orsinger Park (about 1.8 miles each way), did a few tabatas, and ran back home. There were a lot of families at the park, lots of little kids enjoying the playground, and I saw quite a few families eating at the tables.
