Absolutely AMAZING! Honestly, everything about this place was the best of the best. The instructors, the videos, the staff. Everyone was so nice and attentive, i had some trouble with processing and I called them to ask what was going on... they were SO nice and SO helpful. Upon arriving we were greeted nicely. The instructor was SO smart. He had the answer to every question and an explanation for it as well. I WILL reccomend this place to all of my classmates, and any other person that I know. I will DEFINITELY return here. THANKS FOR A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE. read more

I renewed my ACLS this year with them. Super convenient because I was able to complete the majority of the program online so I worked on this between patients at work. I could push pause and come back to it later. I think doing this program online is amazing for anybody who has a busy schedule and needs convenience. Once I finished the online portion, I then went into their Allen location and took the hands on exam. Everyone is super friendly there. Joe makes you feel welcomed and he administered the 15-20 minute megacode test. I printed out the ACLS card at home and getting back to my daily routine. This is for you if you want easy and fast. read more

Just actually came back from my ACLS an hour ago and here I am ready to write my review! (see, told you guys I would!) 5 Stars and you better believe it! Joe was my instructor for my ACLS course, but he also teaches the other courses as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful too! This class isn't like any ordinary certification class. Why?? Because you don't fall asleep half of the time! Minus the videos of course, which can't help but be boring. Joe keeps you awake and on your toes! He makes the course easy to understand and stresses the importance of teamwork in answering questions in class. Joe knows his stuff and helps you with any questions you might have. He's funny too, which makes the time go by faster. Their place is very clean and I like that they keep the class to a low number of students so you get that one on one help. Mine was a class of 5 people, so it created a great learning environment. To all my fellow RNs: They offer CEU credits as well! They're very welcoming and EVEN have coffee, bagels, muffins, granola bars, and candy for you to munch on during breaks as well. All complimentary of Code 3 Life Support! How great is that?! Parking was easy because it's in a little mini complex with plenty of open spaces. FYI: Google maps directions were wrong. It strayed me north of the 210 freeway when it should be SOUTH. Their website also informs you of this as well. To Joe: review written by "cupcake"! Thanks again for a great class! I'll be seeing you guys again for my ACLS recertification! read more

Great place that offers a variety of hours/options, depending on what you need. I'll make it a point to only come here for all my certifications/renewals. The new location is in a perfect spot that's hard to miss (walking distance from Honda of Pasadena). Joe's (the owner) teaching methodology is not exactly orthodox, which is probably why Code 3 is so popular. I'm a firm believer (as are most people) that experience is one of, if not THE best teachers, and his class follows as such. Like the other reviewers have stated, the environment is relaxed, but very hands-on oriented. Come time to run the codes, everyone is ready and things run smooth as butter! Joe is very passionate about his work, and it comes from a good place (wanting to save lives through education). It's always fun to return for renewals, and rest assured, you'll get more than a certification card when you sign up at Code 3! read more

Came here a few weeks ago to get my first CPR/ AED certification. Loved it! The instructor was very thorough and gave lots of feedback. She was also very energetic- which was awesome! The class itself was very small, with just 6 of us. I'll probably be back here when I have to renew! read more

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, had I wanted to become certified in CPR & First Aid. Which parent doesn't? Well, nearly 3 years later I actually got down to signing up for a course. I was a wee bit late! =) I ultimately chose Code 3 because it was within a 5 mile radius, the pricing was reasonable, and lastly, because their website was modern and actually looked reputable (not selfmade, and actually had price & real-time schedules up). On a January Friday morning I drove to Pasadena to be greeted by the energetic and enthusiastic Gary. I believe he said he is a former firefighter, and has a wealth of knowledge. Not a dull moment went by, 9 to 2pm went extremely fast. Gary makes the course fun, and he strives to make it a relatable experience as he pulls for students to share their own experiences and questions. He exceeded my expectations for an instructor this way, as he went above and beyond his call for service (he even kept us an extra hour to show us additional first aid techniques and advice, which was a blessing)! Thanks Gary, for the wonderful experience! I will be returning in 2 years and will most definately refer my Ventura County family to your Oxnard site! read more

Awesome trainer! He deserves closer to 4 stars but there aren't halves, so I gave the company a 3 star. My organization hired them to come and do FirstAid/CPR training, and they were very good. Joe, who seemed to be the owner? but also a presenter was on fire! Energetic, funny, and knowledgeable. Yeah, he was good- He handled 70 adults very well! His energy and motivation were contagious. Since I haven't experienced other CPR training companies, I wouldn't be able to gauge their approach in more detail. Also since I didn't hire them personally I am not sure how they handle the business end of it. I can assure you though that training was fun! read more

Great location to get your CPR certs done! Location is in a small dead-looking plaza next to the 210 freeway, but the inside is well kept and clean. The employees there are nice and helpful, and the chick who did my cert was definitely passionate about health/diseases (think she was going for a PhD). Great examples, great tips, definitely worth coming here...will be back in 2 years to renew! read more

I have to admit, I wasn't sure how good this place would be because the "curb appeal" isn't great -- a small shop with a tiny entry way on a busy street. Boy, was I wrong. I took the four-hour CPR & First Aid class from Gary, a former firefighter. He was both funny and professional and he answered all of our questions. He was also very thorough and made sure we understood all of the material. I took the 6-10 p.m. class, so there was no time for me to grab dinner after work. Luckily, Code 3 provides coffee, water, granola bars, and chocolate for you to snack on. +1 for that. We had a nice small class -- six people. At the end of the class, we received our certification, which was great. I understand that some other places mail you the certification. Also, there is plenty of parking on the street, so you don't have to worry about that. read more

Every class that I have taken here has been such a big help and great experience. I look forward to taking more. The instructors are awesome! And the prices can't be beat. Code 3 life is the only place that I will go for certifications again. read more

I had to take a BLS class and so I searched and decided to try this place. The class was $50 and the text book was $15. I was able to come pick up the text book few days in advance which was cool. My session was on a Friday afternoon at 3pm with 4 other students. The class started on time and it was very easy to follow. Gary was so funny and easy going that I didn't feel like I was actually sitting in a class. The best part: he skipped all the unnecessary parts....which saved about an hour. You watch clips of video, listen to Gary in between, try the technique on your own mannequin and then go to the back room to actually test out a scenario as a group...then on to the session for techniques to rescue kids and at the end, a very simple multiple choice test. * Price = average * Class = very easy and fun * Instructor = Gary is awesome! read more

I was already certified and did not need to take this class. However, I had a lot of people in my life that needed to take this class. Some of my friends and family members had no idea what to do, if god forbid, something happens to a loved one. So, I hosted a class and invited them to attend. I had a good turn out. Joe, the instructor was very engaging and informative. He was super funny, took his time to explain, and made sure we understood. My mom was worried that she would be bored in class, but after it was over, she said "I'm surprised that I understood everything and truly loved the class" (this means, Joe too!) ;) lol Everyone else that was in class also gave great positive feedback. This class will prepare you for the worse. If you have children in your life, parents, or anyone that you love (and i'm sure you have at least one person) you must take this class. Take it regardless, because you never know, one day you may and can save a life. Thank you Joe for an amazing, fun, and educational day. read more

Recently took a First Aid, CPR and AED certification class and it was well worth it. The class was 4 hours total. 2 hours for CPR and AED training and another 2 hours for First Aid training. It was very informative and captivating. 4 hours sounds like a long time but it seriously passed by really fast. This place is well kept and they have great CPR dummies. I never realized how much force you have to put into CPR. The dummy ACTUALLY lit up with green lights so you know you were performing CPR correctly! I feel like this is great, you know exactly if your CPR could potentially save a life. They provided coffee, tea and granola bars for the long class which was nice. We noticed there were also dog dummies and they offer a pet CPR class! After your training you are provided your certification card. Would definitely recommend coming here. It was cheaper than other CPR/AED training classes I found online and this was very informative and worth while. read more

My FIRST BLS (Basic Life Support) class, which was required for my job application, couldn't have gone any smoother! Our instructor named Kenneth Barone, he was funny and very knowledgeable! Gave us all KEY hints, that were going to be on the exam at the end of the course! The atmosphere and environment, the minute you check-in and sit down, is really stress relieving. You walk in and you're greeting promptly by the front desk, and after you sign your name, you sit down in the classroom. Being as I was the only one taking the class for the first time, while others were renewing. I felt it went a lot quicker! But just because it went quicker, doesn't mean that I didn't learn all that I needed to learn upon BLS/CPR/AED! Ken was just awesome, he cracked jokes, he sped things along, but also made sure that we didn't have any questions before we moved forward! Awesome experience! Got Certified for BLS Healthcare Provider within 3-4 hours! I'd definitely recommend, but also come back to this location, 2 years later, when I need to renew my BLS! Also, I've seen how American Red Cross, or other BLS training facilities charge upwards of $75-$100 for this class. Thanks to AHA's Training Center search, I found Code 3 Life the next city over from me, and with a reasonable price, but of course, cheaper than the other ARC or Training facilities! Thanks Code 3 Life! See you in 2 years time! By then, I will no longer be the one raising my hand when asked "Who hasn't taken this course before?" Haha! read more

Wow, Mike is an awesome instructor. He gave us many real life situations and made the training simple and easy to follow. This was my CPR/AED renewal so I had some experience with other educational center. I have to say, this was the most effective and fun class. Highly recommended and will be back for my next renewal. Thank you, team Code3! read more

Code 3 Life Support Education - New and clean props to practice on. Booklet is required, can be purchased through them. - CPR Classes Near Me - Sierra Madre, California

I come recert my BLS, ACLS, PALS, and also going to start my NRP! They do it all and Joe is the best. Those classes tend to be boring and drag on. However he makes them fun and interesting. Being a Paramedic in the field he relates to my needs as well as in a clinical setting for everyone else. I will never go anywhere else for recerts! Paramedics always finish top of class during skills, it's what we do! read more

Great option for a busy working professional. I was able to do the online training and schedule the skills test the same day I called at the Pasadena location for BLS renewal. read more

Great PALS class today....I definitely recommend.....I have been a RN for over 21 years and this is one of my best class I have ever taken.....Joseph taught the class well.....everyone was so friendly and professional read more

I came here for the CPR/AED certification last week. There were only 5 of us in the class, and I really feel like our teacher, Joe (who is also the owner), catered the class to our specific needs. I get that he probably teaches for 15 to 20 on average, but his class was just as good with only 5. It's informative, only about 2 hours in length and gets you the paperwork you need to get on with your other certifications. It is nice to have someone teach you the basics of saving a life though! Highly recommend this place- I definitely wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I came in here to get my BLS certification and I has essentially the most perfect experience. The instructor Joe is aware of how exhausted most people are after work so he make the class extremely entertaining and moves quickly, but not at the expense of being thorough. He'll take the time to explain, make sure you're paying attention and you get your own mannequin to work on! Both him and Shant are professional, fun and well knowledgable. The room itself is clean, and well organized.... Highly recommended and I'll personally be completing all my certifications through them. read more

I took an ACLS recert class this morning and Joe was our instructor. He was engaging, very knowledgable and fun. His staff is also very friendly and accommodating the classroom was spacious, clean and they even offered coffee and snacks. This is a legit class that I would attend again when the time comes. I totally recommend them to all health care providers with any education need. read more

As a medical professional I have been to many CPR classes, but none have taught me as much as this one! The instructors are amazing and very knowledgeable. They are very thorough and give you real life scenarios that will be very useful to you. Im so glad I came here and I will be continuing to come here from now on! read more

Fred was the Awesome Instructor I had for this training. This is the second class I took with him. He makes the class fun, engaging and easy to comprehend. The best part of the class is that you do the practical part with everyone in the room so it's not so nerve racking and we get through everything faster. Thank you FRED!!! read more

First time renewing my BLS & ACLS certifications outside of a hospital. Great experience! Positive learning environment, knowledgeable and fun instructor (Joseph), and small class size. Easy process from booking the class to receiving the e-certifications via email. Plenty of parking. Coffee, water, and snacks provided. My favorite feature was the combination renewal class that combined both BLS & ACLS in one day. So convenient! Thanks Code 3 Life Support Education! I'll be returning for PALS next and every two years thereafter for my renewals. read more

I came here once many years ago when I was only a nursing student. This year I was determined to acquire my PALS and ACLS again (I had let it expire) and Joe and his staff made it so smooth and easy to register and take the course. Joe (owner and teacher of most classes) is amazing at keeping everyone engaged (because I love naps) and has equipment that is relevant in the material we need to learn. He even had one of his employees go out to get raw eggs so we could practice and see what IO access was like! That was super cool. For an OR nurse like myself--we rarely get to perform IO anything, let alone see what the angiocath even looks like. That was really fun and ultimately both of my classes here for initial certification were super pleasant and worth the money. read more

This was my first BLS class. Fred is such an amazing teacher. I work in a lab, so was a bit nervous being amongst other professionals who have done this before. Fred made me feel very comfortable. The class went by quickly as well. I will definitely come back here to do my renewal if in the area. read more

I took my first CPR class here for BLS Health Care Providers with Fred Selayandia. I had a blast taking this class! Though it was early in the morning, this instructor was very energetic and funny. Purchase of a textbook is required upon taking a class. You can buy it there for $15 or buy one ahead of time. We didnt use the textbook at all in class, but I think it's a good thing to have around the house. Adult and infant dummies are provided as well as the mouth pieces to ensure effective CPR practice. We were taught through a series of videos and Fred was always eager to answer any questions as well as constantly review so that our test taking experience will be a lot smoother. I thought it was really neat how they provide coffee, water, and snacks to keep you awake as well. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and will be coming back here when I need a renewal! read more

ACLS can be overwhelming and intimidating. I won't go as far as to say I look forward to going but once I get there I enjoy the day and learn something new every year. I like how material is presented and the opportunity for hands on mock codes. Thank you Code 3 read more

I chose Code 3 based upon their excellent reviews. I am glad that I did. Everything about the experience was great. I enrolled for and paid for the course through their website, which was very convenient for me. The confirmation email contained a link to online supplementary materials that were very helpful. And I appreciated the courtesy reminder email and phone call that they made the day before the course. The course that I attended was the BLS refresher/ ACLS initial combined course. The instructor was Joe and he exceeded my expectations. He was entertaining and engaging throughout, and he went beyond the textbook to help us really understand the "why?" behind many of the things that you do during a code response. He also provided the class with a packet of several pages of material that he has put together based on years of experience. The facility was nice. They are just off the 210 and have a free parking lot. They provided coffee, water, granola bars and some candy for the students to take at any time. My class size was 6 students, which was the perfect team size for running codes. I certainly will return for re-certifications if I am in the area. read more

They are awesome! They are really good at explaining everything to you! They are professional, everything is in working order and clean. I went during covid season and they took all precautions to sanitize everything and keep a safe distance. And everyone wore a mask properly and they had hand sanitizer available for everyone. They provided my card right away. I highly recommend. read more

I have taken CPR and 1st Aid from Code 3 Life Support Education for many years now and each time I am impressed with the professionalism and quality of their trainings. From the registration process through the hands-on training, I felt valued and respected. I just completed a recertification with Fred Selayandia, who took great care to ensure that I understood exactly how and when to provide CPR to adults, children and infants. I highly recommend Code 3 for learning these critical skills. read more

Came in for my BLS card and the guys were very helpful and friendly . This place is a well deserved 5 stars

These guys are great. I took a CPR class with them - the instructor was Michael. He was professional and shared his paramedic experiences with us; and also, he's hilarious. I especially appreciate that the class started out with a clip from "The Office." I felt like my time was used well and I came out knowing so much more. I really recommend them and will definitely come back to them when I need my re-certification! read more

By far the BEST place to take BLS and ACLS, or any class they offer! The instructors make it fun and easy! I have taken 3 classess here and will continue to use Code 3 for all my certification needs. You don't even feel like you are in a class. It is so enjoyable the time flies by! My instructor has been Joe and he is absolutely incredible!! He makes the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend Code 3. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Hands down the best kept secret to renew your ACLS, PALS,BLS. I went here for the first time last month because my usual place didn't have a date available before my ACLS expired. I came here because of the very flexible schedule. I am an ER nurse and I work 7p-7a, so it's kind of hard to find a place that can work with my hours. After work I went to 24 hr fitness (down the street on Colorado) to take a shower and change into regular clothes (RVCA shirt and Nike's) and got here in time for class which started at 9:30am. I really thought that after a 12 hr shift I would probably fall asleep in class. I am glad that wasn't the case. Joe, the instructor, is freaking hilarious!! He made the class very interesting and upbeat. He even bought our class, of all guys, some pizza's from next door. He was very informative, explained the important parts of the American Heart videos, and really got everyone in the class involved. He was not intimidating like some places. Most important of all, he really cares about people and hearing him talk about his past experiences you can just tell he's a great guy. I'll be going here from now on for all my renewals. Keep up the good work Code 3. P.S. the pizza place next door gets 5 stars too P.P.S Ask Joe to tell you the story about pushing Narcan really fast. read more

What can I say? My fellow yelpers, you steered me well. I needed my BLS renewal, and had been looking at several options before I came across Code 3. I ended up selecting them because a) the location was 5 minutes away, b) they offer more days than others, and c) it was less expensive (including gas). I went to their location on Washington, but since I certified, they have a larger location on Allen (with much better parking, I hope). The location on Washington, for those that are curious, is on the north side of the street, between Allen and Altadena Dr. If you are paying attention (and I wasn't, I had to loop twice to find it), it is between Swimcon and Domenico's. You can park wherever you find street parking, and for the night class, it wasn't an issue. The class itself, yes, is long, and it's just the nature of the beast. Gary, our instructor, was personable, friendly, and helpful. Since it is obviously a hands-on class, always ask questions, and they always will be answered. We watched a bit of video, actually practiced, he talked a bit, and repeat. Test is at the end of the class, and you get your card. I honestly recommend going here for any of your necessary certifications, and I will happily return when I am due for renewal. read more
