What can I say? My fellow yelpers, you steered me well. I needed my BLS renewal, and had been looking at several options before I came across Code 3. I ended up selecting them because a) the location was 5 minutes away, b) they offer more days than others, and c) it was less expensive (including gas). I went to their location on Washington, but since I certified, they have a larger location on Allen (with much better parking, I hope). The location on Washington, for those that are curious, is on the north side of the street, between Allen and Altadena Dr. If you are paying attention (and I wasn't, I had to loop twice to find it), it is between Swimcon and Domenico's. You can park wherever you find street parking, and for the night class, it wasn't an issue. The class itself, yes, is long, and it's just the nature of the beast. Gary, our instructor, was personable, friendly, and helpful. Since it is obviously a hands-on class, always ask questions, and they always will be answered. We watched a bit of video, actually practiced, he talked a bit, and repeat. Test is at the end of the class, and you get your card. I honestly recommend going here for any of your necessary certifications, and I will happily return when I am due for renewal. read more

ACLS certification with BLS renewal was rad. Joe who was the instructor, is also the owner and a retired Fire Captain. It is refreshing to see someone who truly loves to teach ACLS. Not ONCE did he read from a powerpoint. He applied the 2010 AHA standards to real life experience in the field, really bringing to life what could really be otherwise confusing stuff to learn.He reinforces what I feel gets missed a lot lately... LOOK AT YOUR PATIENT and yes the monitor but use your common sense think outside the box. ( I call it UNcommon sense because not many people have it so why call it common sense.) You will leave feeling you have a better understanding of ECG and ACLS Pharm even thought its not advertised as such, solely because he wants you to be able to leave feeling confident in the field not just be a card holder. I will definitely be going there to take PALS and the ECG/Pharm course too. I have always had a hard time with ECG and finally someone who I could follow without going cross-eyed. Actually simplifies it! side note: I recommend taking the pre test they send you prior to class and reviewing your weak areas before class, it really helped me to get the most out of classroom time. so... really nothing else to think about, DO IT! :) read more

I had a CPR and First Aid training here over the weekend and it was the best class I've ever taken! The registration was super easy online and the class size was moderate - not too crowded or overwhelming. It was nice of them to provide snacks and coffee. Check in to get 10% the class which is approximately $5 off their BLS course! Also If you LIKE their Facebook page, you get a very neat keychain! I love the small and intimate setting of the class. The instructor who taught us was very fun and personable, which made 3 hours pass by like poof! The whole place was super clean and well-kept. I love how they were super well-equipped and how every person had their own supplies/materials (unlike this other place I used to go to where the students would have to share the materials). Best of all, they provided us with yummy snacks and coffee! The only downside is that you HAVE to purchase the CPR book for $15 (even though it was not used at all!) Anyways, After watching a couple hours of video and practicing on the dolls, we took the test which composed of 25 questions. DOn't worry, you'll get multiple attempts and the instructor would point out the questions that you missed so you could redo them. Once you've submit the test, you'll get your CPR certificate right away, freshly printed from the printer! I will definitely be coming back in 2 years for my renewal. read more

I have been renewing my CPR for a long time and I never look forward to these renewals but this place was great. By far the best experience with renewing. My BLS card needed to be renewed so a friend referred me to this place. The class was very easy to book online. The instructor name was Robert Coster and he was amazing. He took his time to make sure everyone knew what they were doing. He did not cut corners and his lecture was very entertaining. The class was around 3 hours but I do not blame him because there were five people who never had their BLS. The price was 50$ for a renewal which was a steal. The drive took 45 minutes to get there from my house and I will gladly make that trip again for my ACLS class. read more

We all know that CPR is important, but it's not always the most exciting class to take. Not true for Code 3 Life Support! The first time I took BLS for Healthcare Providers it was two years ago at UCLA for their Care Extender program. The class was taught by Code 3 Life and was so fun and informative. Joe (the owner) was so passionate about the subject and made the class so much fun. When it was time for me to renew my card I looked around at a few places that were more local, but ended up deciding to make the 45 minute drive to Pasadena. It was so worth it. I booked an ACLS renewal and BLS renewal combo class and was able to cancel it very easily via phone with no questions asked. They refunded my money quickly. I, later on, booked a First Aid only course. Pros: - Easy to register for classes - Entertaining and informative instructor (I had Fred S.) - Quick responses to emails Con: - Purchased the First Aid book, but we didn't even use it. However, I normally would sell my books, but I decided to keep this one for quick reference. It's a clear and informative manual. I would book classes here again in the future. read more

I came here for CPR AED First Aid today. It wasn't my first time but it was very informative and fun. The instructor was very helpful and engaging. When I called the person I talked to said the class was 4 hours but with the mini breaks in betweem and what not class went from 9:05ish to 1:50pm. Wish they were clearer because I was running late to my Doctor's appt. Other than that it was a good experience. Will come back to renew. read more

Joe is such a great instructor!!! He is very informative and patient with all the students. I won't take ACLS and/or PALS anywhere else. The new location is much more bigger and spacious. They are all friendly and helpful over the phone and in person. They provide Keurig coffee during classes. You get to brew you own cup as needed so its hot and freshly brewed. Took the Tuesday 9am BLS for healthcare providers class. Everybody was friendly, the class started on time, and was a lot of fun. It was more interactive than any classes I've taken elsewhere. Positive: I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Our instructor, Sherek, made renewing my CPR certificated very enjoyable. She was funny and very, very knowledgable. Negative: I wis disappointed about the extra "hidden" charge. I read no where on the website or the emails sent to me that I was required to purchase the $15 student workbook. We didn't even review or use the workbook. So, I'm not sure why we were required to purchase it. I have one of these manuals at home and school, though not the same, but something very similar and updated. Though I really, really enjoyed the course, unfortunately I will not be recommending this to my colleagues back at school. read more
