The smell coming from this place whilst standing outside was wonderful, enticing you into this quirky restaurant. The decor leaves a lot to the imagination, it's not even in a shabby chic, to be frank it could do with an overhaul. The staff are efficient but again like the look of the place a little aloof, they wouldn't win a popularity contest. All that aside the food is FABULOUS. I had for starter of a Mini Masala dosa, a pancake made from rice and black gram lentils, stuffed with a masala of potato, onion and ginger. For main course I had the Fish Molly, a king fish marinated in turmeric sauce, cooked in thick coconut milk with curry leaves, onion, ginger, fresh lemon juice and cubed tomato accompanied this with an Appam, a white, spongy pancake, made form yeasty rice batter. The price is not expensive and the portion size is good. My friend had the chicken tikka massala dosa which was HUGE. If you are in the Hampton Court area do not miss trying out this place. On the midweek night I went to Cocum I was not alone so the word must be getting around. Oh yes I will be back not for the aesthetics but because the food is so damn good. xoxo read more
