I visited this restaurant as I was recommended to try their food When I arrived there I was told to…read morecome back in 1 hour and I was with my husband and my seven year old daughter, I came back after 1 hour and then was told to wait for further 15 mins which I did , they then seated me outside were there was not enough light but I welcomed the table as they said they had bookings inside ! Maybe because I was white ! We ordered the food and then was told to wait for 20 mins After 40 mins my husband asked the waiters were is the food, and they kept on saying 5 mins and 5 mins, we waited another 20 mins and no food! I then questioned them as my husband was getting very angry with there lies and service I then asked them what's going on and I felt ignored because I was not Pakistani and my orientation European and felt very discriminated when I tried to speak to the waiters At the end I was told to go inside to the food counter and speak to someone inside, I stood up with my family and walked straight out and they couldn't even have the decency to apologise on my way out My husband who has he's own business called the restaurant on the way home and asked for the owner and he was told to leave his number and message and I will receive a call back, until today my husband has not received a call or a apology the service and the treatment I and my family received, we will never come to this restaurant again and my close friends will hear about the service and the racism I felt towards me Let's hope this owner off this restaurant will have the decency to call my husband Lastly, they have only tap water so I went to get our drinks from next door burger place. WOW -the waiter even laughed about my 'problem solving' skills I have attached a picture of what I shared with friends on the day where we went there -as the OWNER responded of my Google review that everything I just shared is false! Shame on you!!! Your restaurant rated as 'worth the trip even across London - I wish I read your responses to previous reviews. I am shocked, my apologies for coming to you, another lesson learned! additionally to all the above: there is OFF street parking-not safe for high value cars, the front of the restaurant there seems to be some council work going o. right in the middle cordoned off with weed growing and a broken chair dumped in the hole. no need your rude response! that's was sadly my full experience at your place

While rare that I venture too far outside of central London when in town, it's good to know that…read moreyou can find quality Indian at reasonable prices. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? A homey little hole in the wall that builds on the fact that you're in small-village suburbia, Panahar Tandoori is staffed with attentive and very friendly servers there to tend to any basic need. While the decor is a bit dated and seating more limited than otherwise, that's essentially what I look for when I'm outside the city. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Not unlike most other Indian spots in the country, PT is generous with regard to portions, and this is extrapolated if you're fortunate enough to stop by come lunch for the all you can eat buffet. For my dinner visit, 10GBP got me a generous portion of Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilaf Rice. Have a look: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1qS6Y_HCJcuyxtnWxnUqvw&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg Fair. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Very, very good. I've become more and more of a critic with Indian cuisine as I've frequented it more often, and this is certainly in the upper half of dishes that I've had. The chicken was flavorful with a nice, thick sauce that complemented the unique Pilaf Rice nicely. From there, excellent naan complimented the meal, and I was very pleased with the whole setup. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? To be honest, this is essentially your only option if you're craving Indian in or around Cobham, but it's good enough to where I'd come everyday given the craving. Star Granted.

The only Indian in town, but also the best Indian in town (excluding take out Dial-India). Always…read morecome back to eat here when I visit for the holidays. Used to be mediocre but picking back up again. Friendly staff, very authentic, - cozy, dimmed atmosphere. Fun spotting celebrities every now and then. HIGHLY recommend the buttered chicken tikka masala or the chicken vindaloo (if you want to spice things up), with garlic naan and a large Kingfisher. Space is probably the biggest issue. Not very much leg room, a mission to get to the loo and one can always hear the old Irish couple's conversation on the other side of the restaurant. Service can be hit or miss and unfortunately the soda is always served flat. However, fantastic place to go for a Friday evening date or for the Sunday buffet with the family. ....mmmm.... papadoms....
