I ate here years ago...it's nice to see that it is still around. I remember the lamb vindaloo was fantastic...very hot....but very good.

One of the best places in Surbiton for a curry, I miss getting take aways from there.

I'm very surprised that I'm the first to review this place on Yelp. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent and by far one of the best Indian meals I've ever eaten. Whilst the majority of us have our favourite dishes, I was gently swayed by the waiter to try an alternative variation on my favourite dish - lamb saag. The dish was perfect, a perfect blend of tastes, spices and tastes incredible. I want to say it was called Lamb Sagotti but I might be wrong. Everyone agreed it was a terrific meal and if we ever found ourselves back in Claygate, we would certainly return.

The decor leaves a lot to the imagination, it's not even in a shabby chic, to be frank it could do with an overhaul. The staff are efficient but again like the look of the place a little aloof, they wouldn't win a popularity contest. All that aside the food is FABULOUS. I had for starter of a Mini Masala dosa, a pancake made from rice and black gram lentils, stuffed with a masala of potato, onion and ginger. For main course I had the Fish Molly, a king fish marinated in turmeric sauce, cooked in thick coconut milk with curry leaves, onion, ginger, fresh lemon juice and cubed tomato accompanied this with an Appam, a white, spongy pancake, made form yeasty rice batter. The price is not expensive and the portion size is good. My friend had the chicken tikka massala dosa which was HUGE. If you are in the Hampton Court area do not miss trying out this place. On the midweek night I went to Cocum I was not alone so the word must be getting around. Oh yes I will be back not for the aesthetics but because the food is so damn good. xoxo

Quality/Quantity - What a great find, and this review shows…read morethe positive power of Yelp. We discovered this local restaurant through Yelp, and so did the other 2 tables next to us. We found out at the end of our meal that one of the other tables was also from our hotel, a mile walk away. Overall, I think a simple menu done well. We got everything they recommended including the recommended beer from the table next to us. Plain Papadum & Chutney Tray - A must try! Suggestion, these two items should be together on your menu to avoid any confusion on pricing. The sauces also went well with our entree and naan. Tandoori Mix Grill - Good, perfect amount for both of us. As mentioned previously, we are light eaters, especially when traveling. This entree also came with a very light simple salad. Garlic Naan - I can eat this all day! This could even be my meal. After Dinner Chocolates - A nice unexpected touch. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Bathrooms need some TLC, but are functional. Indoor/outdoor dining; everyone ate indoors today. Open 7 days a week. Service - Good, had all 3 wait staff help us. This kind of confused us. They were good at upselling, but all 3 team members tried to upsell us. Not in a bad way, but it kept me laughing. I am a light eater, especially when traveling. They all made light small talk which was nice. It was obvious that everyone eating here was NOT local. They also have online promotions, see their website. Price - 28 pounds + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success, I am so glad that you can benefit from Yelp. See you on our next visit as we were so happy with our hotel we plan to stay there again.
