Yelp Review We've been so fortunate to be working with Ethan…read moreand his team since 2023 and it has been life changing for our family. Ethan helped us organize our household finances to ensure that we were able to meet our current and future financial needs for our growing family. Ethan made us feel so comfortable from our first meeting with his friendly attitude and non-judgmental outlook on financial habits. The first year was focused on financial education and helping us create our financial road map. We had monthly meetings to track our progress and to learn about our cash flow and other useful financial topics. Within that year we were able to pay off all of our high interest debt, lower our spending, and increase our HYSA contribution. Our goals for the second year are still the same but we are now moving forward with maintaining positive financial habits and increasing our cash flow. We do quarterly online meetings with Ethan which fits perfectly for our busy lifestyle and allows us flexibility to meet with him whenever possible. We cannot thank Ethan and April for all of their help and encouragement these past 2 years. We look forward to continue working with them and learning more as we go.

They gave me some free checks to start with. I'm very impressed with their technology. The ATM machine easy to use, no need envelope, it can read hand writing on deposit amount. Online banking even better, you can use remote check deposit, or set up ACH transfers to another bank account free of charges! My other big local bank requires a visit to their branch and charge $50? for this service. The other thing I wish they have a few more ATM and branch locations in town. They now have a branch in Kaimuki which opens on Saturday until 1p. Awesome.

Homestreet is the WORST bank in Hawai'i and the entire US. Mona Choy, VP of the Hawai'i region (a…read moretitle she doesn't deserve), is one of the most unprofessional and oppressive people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Dismissive and rude, she withheld her supervisor's information (full name, phone number and email address) and refused to call me back for nearly half a year. Yes, half a year. I never received a call back from her; she sent me a letter saying Homestreet would not be contacting me. I had to find her supervisor's information myself: Paulette Lemon, EVP Retail Banking Director. What oppressive BS. Never bank at Homestreet, the absolute worst! In response to Derryl's reply: A measly "sorry" isn't enough. How difficult is it to respond to me? Pathetic.

Beyond her exceptional reliability and responsiveness, she always takes the time to identify the most suitable loan program, offering competitive interest rates and low points that can make a significant difference in both home purchases and real estate investment properties. Her expertise, professionalism, and commitment to her clients make the financing process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Phuong to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dependable mortgage loan officer.

This company is THE SLOWEST, most mis-managed lender in the Hawaiian Islands. The amount of stress,…read moremoney and headaches Finance Factor has caused me (the seller of a Kauai home), and the buyer of this home is inexcusable. The buyers sold their home on SEPT. 25, 2017, and had to rent other accomodations while waiting for the loan to go through --a FULL MONTH OF OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES! Our closing date was set for Oct. 6 but the actual closing did not occur until October 24. I scheduled the disconnection of utilities for Oct. 6, but when the closing was delayed, I had to have some of the utilities turned back on again, which cost me several hundred dollars to accomplish, not to mention the inconvenience. But THIS ISN'T THE WORST OF IT! I began applying for a Retirement visa to move to Spain in August 2017, and the delay in the closing did not allow me to provide proof of finances until Oct. 26, thus delaying and possibly preventing acquisition of my visa. I had spent close to $1000 to obtain updated passport, medical clearance, FBI clearance, etc. and many of these documents will expire by Nov. 21, thus leaving me without a home or a destination to move to. My planned departure date for Spain was Nov. 1 but Finance Factors, and particularly Ron Cole, on Kauai, prevented this from happening. Apparently someone in the Kauai office went on vacation, and another employee expired, and yet another employee apparently felt that a measly $200 K loan was not as important as the million dollar ones and kept relegating the loan paperwork to the bottom of the pile!!!. Whatever the reasons, WHY WASN'T AN EMPLOYEE FROM ANOTHER OF FINANCE FACTORS UMPTEEN LOCATIONS SENT TO THE KAUAI OFFICE?? I formerly worked for HMSA on Kauai, and when we had a sick or vacationing employee on one or any of the Islands, HMSA flew replacement staff to the office in need. I recommend to the general public to AVOID USING FINANCE FACTORS because of their despicable customer service and utter lack of human resources management.
