This company badgering me for months trying to offer business funding! I finally answered the call…read moreand told them to email me an application and all applicable info. I filled out the app and within a few hours I get a call back stating I was approved for $3,500 as a "relationship builder loan". I was rushed to send in my bank info and my drivers license. I asked them to send me the terms so that I can review them. Instead Jorge text me a link so that I can send my bank account info! This seemed really sketchy, so I called back. I get Jorge on the phone and he's pressuring me for my ID and bank information again. I asked him server's times about the rate, and he avoided my question saying it'll all be sent over from "underwriting AFTER I send my ID and bank info... after going back and forth multiple times, he told me the rate would be $299/ day for $3500. I said that was petty steep and asked him at what rate! He says "are you sending the info or not? I said pardon me? He then told me he's denying the loan because I gave him a hard time! This is A TOTAL SCAM!!! ALL THESE REVIEWS HAVE A COMMON THEME! BEWARE!!! I'm bringing attention to their deceptive practice EVERYWHERE that I possibly can! SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS BEWARE! I'M placing my review everywhere and filing a complaint with the BBB and also the California Attorney General!

I started with a saving CD account year ago for their higher interest rate among all Hawaii banks…read more They convinced me open a checking account which I'm now glad I did. They gave me some free checks to start with. I'm very impressed with their technology. The ATM machine easy to use, no need envelope, it can read hand writing on deposit amount. Online banking even better, you can use remote check deposit, or set up ACH transfers to another bank account free of charges! My other big local bank requires a visit to their branch and charge $50? for this service. The other thing I wish they have a few more ATM and branch locations in town. They now have a branch in Kaimuki which opens on Saturday until 1p. Awesome.

Homestreet is the WORST bank in Hawai'i and the entire US. Mona Choy, VP of the Hawai'i region (a…read moretitle she doesn't deserve), is one of the most unprofessional and oppressive people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Dismissive and rude, she withheld her supervisor's information (full name, phone number and email address) and refused to call me back for nearly half a year. Yes, half a year. I never received a call back from her; she sent me a letter saying Homestreet would not be contacting me. I had to find her supervisor's information myself: Paulette Lemon, EVP Retail Banking Director. What oppressive BS. Never bank at Homestreet, the absolute worst! In response to Derryl's reply: A measly "sorry" isn't enough. How difficult is it to respond to me? Pathetic.

For a bank that's been here for so long, why is there just a couple of reviews....from 4 and 7…read moreyears ago? This must be the easiest bank to work in with the least amount of customers, which is a possibility since it is located at the corner of South King and Bishop Street in Downtown with no public parking. You wouldn't come to this branch specifically unless you work or have business in Downtown. I've been to this branch a few times many years ago when I worked nearby, and just recently when I returned to the area. You'll never have to wait here as there's never any customers. This branch is definitely the biggest branch with the highest ceilings. The teller who helped me was friendly and extra careful in her work. Overall, a decent branch if you're in Downtown, and it opens early, at 7:30am and closes at 3:15pm (except Friday at 5pm). Too bad their hours are almost exactly like my hours.

"A penny saved is a penny earned"--Benjamin Franklin…read more We stopped in to update our account profiles and to set up an account this morning at this branch. This location of this bank's branch is very convenient for Downtown folks as it's right at the corner of Bishop and King Street in Honolulu's Financial District. As soon as we entered, we were impressed by the size of this bank which from its exterior looks small. Sure, it's not as large as the other major local banks such as First Hawaiian Bank or Bank of Hawai'i, but we have found that this financial institution offers the best interest rates for home loans, mortgage loans and personal loans. In my opinion, they offer Hawai'i's best financial services packages. We were met by Senior Teller, Victoria Delrio, who was so friendly and informative. She took the time to assist us in updating our accounts (which we thought we had done several years ago) and created an account which we'll call on during our "rainy day(s)". I have to stress how understanding, thorough and professional Ms. Delrio was to us. She never rushed us through any part of our visit and was an absolute pleasure to work with. We're glad to be members at Territorial Savings as their customer service has always been top-notch and they have many convenient locations.

Bank of Hawaii has long been loved as a major, and local, bank in Hawaii…read more I have been using FHB, another major bank in Hawaii, and I recently started using Bank of Hawaii. Compared to the bank I have been using for many years, the personal banker conditions are slightly looser, and you can easily consult about finance and trust. Also, there are a few Japanese people working as personal bankers, so it's reassuring. Of course, I'm used to FHB, which I've been using right after I moved to Hawaii, so I want to use both banks in the future. What I like about Bank of Hawaii is the Hawaiian-like lobby atmosphere. You can pass waiting time without getting bored because you can enjoy the interesting exhibitions and videos on display. It is not uncommon to see bankers with hair accessories such as hibiscus. When they say "Aloha" after concluding my business, I can't help but smile and return Aloha. I hope that you will continue to provide services that are typical of a local bank in Hawaii.

Writing this to commend Maria in safe deposit box area who assisted me today…read more To save us both time she asked whether my safe deposit box has always been here or was transferred from Chinatown branch. She then chose a huge folder and was able to find mine within seconds. Need to fill out a little form with name, date, box number and signature. Show ID and she asked if I needed a private room which I did not this time. Walked across tiny bridge into vault and did our double turnkey dance, then she asked if I wanted her to lift the box out for me and I happily said yes since it's kinda heavy. Maria set it on the table and told me to take my time. When pau, I replaced the box, took out my key and upon departure she asked if I needed parking validation. I asked how long was it for because I was going to run to Starbucks to get a coffee first and she said it's good for up to 2 hours max. That is nice to know in case I need to do other banking or grab coffee at Starbucks or lunch next time. She wished me a good day with a smile Mahalo Maria!
