A rock tore our front bumper cover half off. Our adjuster was rude to me, then ignored me. From 9/11 to 9/22, every text I sent the claim line got an automated receipt under her name and nothing else. I was asking for a different shop, because the first one AAA sent us to wanted a repair authorization signed before anyone inspected the car. A claims manager called 20 minutes after my third text. On 9/29 the adjuster phoned and called old screws in the bumper "previous damage." I told her the previous owner put them in. Her answer was "it's a salvaged vehicle, right?" in a smug tone. A rebuilt title is not a reason to refuse a claim. AAA's Hawaii policy has no salvage or rebuilt-title exclusion, and its application doesn't ask about the title. We hid nothing: AAA had our registration, which says rebuilt, when it wrote the policy. Under Hawaii law (HRS 431:10-209), a misstatement on an application can only block a claim if it was made with intent to deceive or materially affected the risk. I sent the seller's listing photos showing those screws on the car before we bought it. The next morning the questions moved to old wiring and parts of the grille and undershield. I answered in writing that same day with photos and asked for the decision in writing. I texted her to confirm she had it and got another automated receipt. No reply came. A week later a different adjuster sent the estimate, and it carried no prior-damage deduction at all. That text said repairs "should be completed within 1-2 weeks" and the shop would call us. The shop told me that same day its system did not show the claim approved and it could not schedule anything. I asked AAA to send the authorization. No person answered for six days. On 10/13 the adjuster wrote that the payment had gone to the shop by mistake, that she had voided it, and that it would be reissued to the policyholder because "Kraftsmann cannot do the repairs." Nobody asked us first. I wrote back that same night asking who said that and when. She never answered, and that email was the last I heard from her. On a recorded call the next morning, the shop said it never got the check and no one there told AAA that: "AAA made the decision." Later that day AAA's own claims manager wrote that the same shop "wants to assist you with the repairs." Those were the games: a new objection as soon as I answered the last one, auto-replies in place of answers, a reason for voiding our payment that the shop and AAA's own manager contradicted, and a phone call when I asked for writing. Four different AAA people handled this claim. What moved it was a written deadline, with a state Insurance Division complaint named as the next step. A manager confirmed the full $2,925.09 in writing on 10/19, and the check arrived 10/26 with nothing taken off. If you have a claim with AAA, put every request in writing and keep every text. You may need them.

I don't know why they have so many bad reviews, because I've got nothing but good service from them. I've dealt with their claims department and everything was handled in a timely manner. They either emailed me or called me promptly, answering any questions or concerns that I may have had. They also reminded me that if I needed a rental, that my policy covered up to a certain amount. Awesome! I would like to especially thank Jennifer De Sa for all the wonderful help she has done. She doesn't work for their claims department, but she helped me with everything else. She answered all my questions about my auto policy and what benefits I had. Going through all the perks of "just in case" something happens, like road side assistance or calling locks smith. She was so patient! I also had to call her once to resend new insurance cards because I misplaced mine. Thanks Jen for all that you do. Really give Dtric a try. For the price that I pay for my vehicles and the great customer service I receive, I'm not complaining :)

DO NOT waste your time with this company…read more This has been nothing short of a nightmare. After being referred to this auto body shop by our insurance company, we waited months--yes, months--with zero progress and endless excuses. The shop refused to fix the car, despite being part of the insurer's preferred network. Communication was abysmal, transparency nonexistent, and any attempt to move the process forward was met with apathy or deflection. At this point, it feels like a scam--designed to delay, frustrate, and hope we just give up. Completely unprofessional, unaccountable, and utterly lacking in integrity. Avoid this place at all costs. You deserve better.

We were not able to be in Honolulu at the time of the sale or when we were shopping for insurance, so Jef worked hard and met with our daughter to view the condo to best assess our insurance needs. We saved money and learned useful information about insuring condos. Fast forward to this week. My wife and I bought our daughter her first car. Because of the great experience we had with Jef Saragena, I immediately thought of Jef and StateFarm. Just like before, Jef was on it. Jef contacted my daughter, the car dealer, and worked with my wife and I to get my daughter properly insured. Jef worked hard to smooth out a difficulty that was created by the fact that my wife and I were in California while buying the car in Honolulu. As before, Jef explained our insurance needs and, then he contacted my daughter and counseled her on what to do to drive safely, the benefits of maintaining a good driving record, how to use apps that help her drive safely and save money on insurance. All in all, Jef is our go-to insurance agent in Hawaii. My wife and I commend him for his integrity and his money-conscious detailing of insurance. We highly recommend Jef and StateFarm. We will definitely contact Jef when we need to purchase more insurance.
