Many years after that when I needed a Personal Property policy in addition to my Renter's Policy, Kevin and State Farm were the obvious choice, and I have had that additional policy now for about three years and have been totally satisfied with that policy and with Kevin's clarifications and explanations of any questions I might have. Recently my daughter needed to buy a car... her first... for work. So of course State Farm, through Kevin's agency, was the logical choice for her car insurance, and in the course of discussing that proposed policy with Kevin we discovered that State Farm Bank also offers auto loans. Kevin also introduced us to truecar.com, which is a site that lets you know what others have paid for similar vehicles, so that you can know if you are getting a good price from the dealer and also print out and use the data from that site as a negotiating tool. Also because of that website that Kevin told us about, we were able to discover the existence of various discounts that we had not known about but were eligible for simply by applying for them and mentioning them to the Dealer, and we were able to successfully get more than an additional $ 1,250 in discounts from the dealer on the car she eventually purchased. Throughout the process of this car purchase, Kevin's continued advice, imaginative solutions and help were invaluable. His office staff was also really helpful when Kevin was not available. We ended up using State Farm Bank to finance the vehicle and were able to, with Kevin's help, obtain a monthly payment for her purchase that was affordable for her, as well as a reasonably priced automobile insurance policy. In my opinion, Kevin is a top-notch insurance agent and an extraordinarily helpful and considerate person in general, and if someone is looking for an great insurance agent, they need look no further than Kevin Takahashi.

The staff member told me, "I have no idea. I don't have to handle that--the billing department will process it." When I asked how I could contact the billing department or get more information, she wasn't able to provide any specific guidance. It's nice to have an in-person agent, especially when many insurance companies have moved to mostly online or phone-based service. However, based on this experience, I found the in-person service to be even less helpful than speaking with an agent over the phone. It was especially disappointing to see such a difference in attitude between when I signed up and when I decided to cancel. I hope the staff can receive better training and provide customers with the same level of attention and professionalism regardless of whether they are signing up or leaving. It was nice for a change to walk in an actual office, and meet an actual agent with actual live team of workers. No more having to deal with a company that has a 1-800 mainland number having to talk with over the phone. It was a much needed change to switch, as Brandon analyzed our previous home policy with our previous insurance carrier and felt it was under insured. Although he increased the coverage, the premium was just about the same. Additionally, not needing to deal with a 3rd party company for the hurricane coverage as State Farm was able to cover it as well. As for our auto, unbelievable savings. Brandon gave my son a great discount on my his classic car since he almost never drives it. We have a great discount on our other auto's using the Drive Safe & Save App. The Bluetooth beacon was easy to connect to the State Farm Drive Safe App, and the beacon is left in the car to monitor our driving such as: speeding, hard breaking, fast cornering distracted driving. The app will rate your driving performance in each category, you can check on your score. My son fussed a bit about needing to have it in his other car, but when I suggested he pay his own policy, he was okay with it. The life insurance process took a while, but Brandon kept in touch every step of the way. He explained what would be happening next etc. Mister and I had the choice of doing either a phone interview or an on-line interview and the processor was so friendly and patient! I got everything ready in advance, such as my medical history, medications, doctors information etc. Ultimately, I did not need to take a blood exam because they spoke directly with my physician for the information to make a final decision! Brandon and his staff is so diligent, super duper friendly Brandon is straight up and professional. When leaving either a telephone message or sending Brandon an email, he responds right away! I paid monthly and I got one insurance card with the effective date and the expiration date. When I had my car shipped I changed to a local insurance and State Farm was affordable. The only problem was I paid for a 6 month policy and instead of getting a card with the 6 months of insurance, they gave me a insurance card for almost every month. I eventually called to end my policy with them and that's when I saw that the only insurance card I had was digital and it was from August to September. I called the insurance agent Kaina and I asked if the insurance card was supposed to be like that and he said "we give insurance cards for every month due to people lying and fraud of using expired insurance cards". Thought that was weird. They said they mailed out an insurance card every month but that wasn't true I didn't get any. So I had to ask them to email me all the months.
