We signed a contract that I would lend him 200K and he would pay that back to me PLUS interest after one year. It has been 3 years now and he has paid back nothing. When I attended Mazella's course, I remember another man who was there, telling me that he was waiting on Mazella to pay HIM back...I should have seen that red flag and ran. Since the deal, I have become a quadruple amputee and I am 82 years old...the stress and heartache on me and my family has been unbearable. Now more than ever, with healthcare costs, long term care, I am depending on that repayment. I trusted this man and wish I hadn't. I have emailed him multiple times. Our contract stated I would be repaid with in ONE YEAR. He told me that he is 100% uncollectible because he does not hold assets in his name so there is no forced collection, levy or garnishment...and to not throw my good money after "bad." I interpret that to mean that he didn't have any plan to pay me back. In a recent email, when I asked him point blank : Do you have any intentions of repaying anything, this was his reply: "I've already answered this question. Twice in fact. Yet you keep asking as if doing so will change the answer. So I'm gonna answer it one more time. No. We have to wait until the deal resolves itself...If and when the foreclosure concludes and wipes out your interest, then you have lost money, and then we have that discussion. In the meantime you might want to consider lawyering up to protect your interests against the 1st position lender, who has named you as a defendant." Ultimately, the "Honolulu Mentor" or "Turtle Bay Mentor's" advice to me was to lawyer up, and my advice to anyone taking his class, is please do not make the same mistake I did by trusting this man...and the more I talk to people the more I find people just like me, in this situation with someone who did not hold up his end of the deal.

Not only that, he teaches goal setting, who you need on your power team, critical thinking as well as mastermind groups. I really enjoyed the hands on training provided by going out to deals he has in progress. It comforting to know that even after graduating, I know that he is available for questions for up to 30 days. Homestreet is the WORST bank in Hawai'i and the entire US. Mona Choy, VP of the Hawai'i region (a…read moretitle she doesn't deserve), is one of the most unprofessional and oppressive people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Dismissive and rude, she withheld her supervisor's information (full name, phone number and email address) and refused to call me back for nearly half a year. Yes, half a year. I never received a call back from her; she sent me a letter saying Homestreet would not be contacting me. I had to find her supervisor's information myself: Paulette Lemon, EVP Retail Banking Director. What oppressive BS. Never bank at Homestreet, the absolute worst! In response to Derryl's reply: A measly "sorry" isn't enough. How difficult is it to respond to me? Pathetic.

Every person that has helped me has been so accommodating and kind, they've gotten to know me and my needs and welcome me by name whenever I stop by, just like family. I never feel rushed and can comfortably ask questions about my banking needs knowing I'm going to receive well thought out expertise. It's rare to find a bank that you can be a part of that doesn't treat you like just another transaction and HomeStreet Bank makes me feel like my business matters. Because of this, my parents also started banking with HomeStreet and have also had a really great experience! It's also so convenient to have so many available branches when I visit the mainland!

Before signing anything I highly recommend to read through the contract carefully and know what you're getting yourself into as they won't go through it with you verbally or mention in person that there will be a 5% charge on whatever you get approved for. Our fault on not being thorough but we'll take it as a lesson learned. They also have a clause that every week the invoice isn't paid, there is an additional 10% charge which to me seems like collecting the invoice may have been an issue in the past (maybe... I don't know, not being clear on the charge?). They LITERALLY just help you sign up for a business credit card and eat 5% of whatever amount you get approved for. Which FYI, had we were more aware of the charge we would have just said no, we already have a business credit card that we did online ON OUR OWN in a matter of MINUTES. Why would we pay someone to do something we did ourselves already? Our credit scores are 700+ so maybe they would be of more help to someone who has trouble securing lines of credit. Also, their advice to do a cash advance on the credit card regardless of the one year no interest just isn't a smart move to start your business on. Look else where for help, not here. Edit: They gave us a discount on the 5% charge since there was a miscommunication and they don't want bad business vibes but still paying $600+ to do something you can do on your own at a faster pace and the convenience of your own phone/computer seems ridiculous.
