CoCoCurry found a new customer! I received amazing customer service! Oh I wish I would have got her name but not only did she welcome me immediately, she asked if I wanted to try all the different curries. I sampled each one and they were absolutely delicious. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted. I ended up choosing grilled shrimp with flat noodles and the Khao Soi Curry. I added some heat as well! This curry I was told is a northern Thai curry. I also added Thai omelet for $3 more. As soon as she put the food down I smelled the warm spices with the cilantro. The shrimp were nice size (tail on). I enjoyed every last bite and left nothing. Flavors were bold and the medium heat was perfect. So many different ways to create your food just how you like. The add on prices I feel are reasonable. CoCoCurry is small inside but the decor is amazing, the only downside is the parking. Very tight parking! I can see them opening up another location eventually. I highly recommend going and giving them a try.

CRISPY FISH FILLETS with masaman curry

Everything was delicious! Where do I start... the build your own curry concept is so fun. You basically go on a little curry journey before even sitting down, and it definitely wakes up your taste buds. We went with the Massaman with crispy fish fillets and rice, and the Khao Soi with grilled king mushrooms over egg noodles... flavors galore. Lita walked us through all the base and topping options, which made the experience even better and truly appreciate that extra connection. No complaints. 10 out of 10.

Appetizer, drinks and dessert menu as April 2026

Came here on a Friday afternoon right at opening. I love Thai curry and was excited to try this place. It wasn't busy for lunch time, though several people came in to take to-go. Seemed to be quite a few first timers. There's a small parking lot with tight spots that is shared with nearby businesses like a barber and 7-Eleven. I would probably recommend just parking on the street nearby. The place had about three four tops, six two tops, and a handful of bar stool seats facing the window/ parking lot. We were greeted immediately asked if we were first-timers, and were offered samples of all their Curry sauces. All were pretty tasty and had no spice to little spice as the baseline. They take your order at your table -- pick your protein, curry, then base. Add sides (+$) or heat if you'd like. Appetizers, drinks, and some alcohol (beer & wine) options available. We ordered the chicken curry puffs - which was plated with a bit of curry sauce. Would order again. For main foods: I ordered the Khao Soi with egg noodles, grilled steak, a fried egg (+$3) with medium heat. My friend ordered the yellow curry, with crispy chicken, and vegetables (+$1: bean sprouts, cabbage and lime), and hot. Medium was explain to be one step above the heat of the samples we had. I would say it was still pretty mild, but tasty. Friend's 'hot' felt more like a 3-4 out of 10. Her plate definitely could have done with more curry, but we were otherwise pretty happy with our food. Decided to order desert - there were 3 options: Coconut ice cream with corn kernels, mango sticky rice, or a combo which combined both desserts. We opted for the combo. The ice cream was a little iced, sticky rice was tasty and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our dessert. Service was great. It was just the one person working the front of house when we visited. She was pleasant and attentive. We would come back to eat here again.

Two things assaulted my senses the moment I walked in. The first was the girl behind the counter asked me to taste test all five of their curry. She said the khao soi was her favorite, and I was convinced into agreeing. I was also partial to the mustard flavor and fragrance. If I hadn't tasted them, I was probably going to order the massaman. They were all delicious though. Well, I did find the green curry a tad weak, but that was at least partly because I had to taste that one last. And green curry has a softer flavor to begin with. The second assault was there was some relatively loud music playing. Not super loud. Just noticeably louder than average for a restaurant, and yet, it was super relaxing. Because it was, like, some Bossa Nova cafe vocal mix. I only know that because I just could not remember what the genre was called, so I went and asked the employee about the music also. Anyways, I ordered the khao soi (hot) with rice and chicken thigh, and it was amazing. The umami of the curry impressed me a second time. The chicken and breading were both soft. The onions and fried egg also mixed in perfectly. This is easily some of the best curry I've had in San Diego so far. I also ordered a tom yum noodle soup with beef. This was also good, but not as impressive as the curry. I believe their meat is also made the same separately no matter what entree you're ordering, so the meat is not made specifically for the soup. Aside from that, the only other negative I can think of, if it can even be considered a negative, might be the location? The neighborhood outside is slightly sketchy. There was a homeless person sitting in the corner in front of the 7-eleven next door. Another homeless man with no shirt on came around the other side of the building and was hanging around in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant. The vibe of this joint really pulls you in though. Something about it feels like an oasis and encourages you forget about the outside world once you're inside. I don't believe in stuff like feng shui, but if there's any truth to it at all, I'm sure this interior design gets an A+ in it.

I'm not a huge fan of curry but this place made me change my mind. They have different types of curry and you can choose your base and protein. I came in with my friends when nobody else was in the restaurant so we were able to sample their different curry flavors. The girl that served us was very nice and informative because we did not know what we wanted. They have other dishes as well but the curry was the star. There's also a few selection of beer and wine. The restaurant was clean. It is a small establishment so it can get crowded and there's not a lot of parking.

Found this Thai curry spot near where I lived and went for dinner. If you are dining there, know the dining area is rather small. The staff are all so welcoming and helpful when it comes to the curry you want to have with your food. They even let you sample each one so you can pick the one you like best; although, they ALL were amazing, making it hard for me to choose. I ended up getting the Panaang curry with rice and a curry pastry as an appetizer. The curry pastry was filled with potatoes and other vegetables and served with a sweet and spicy sauce to dip it in. The curry was packed with flavor with a subtle kick to it as well but not overwhelming. I will definitely be making this spot a recurring dinner spot!

I have dined in and ordered out from here multiple times. Ambience is good. Small little seating section for about 5 to 6 groups. The restaurant is decorated nicely love the pops of yellows that represents curry. Service is always great when I come in. Greeted as soon as you walk in the door and promptly seated as I have not been when it's been busy the cashier offered a tasting of each curry so that we knew which one we would love the most. I have had a variety of the dishes here and they all have been phenomenal. The most recent dish I've had was the salmon with rice and the pan curry. The flavors were dancing in my mouth. Parking is shared with the others two or three stores in the plaza. It can be a bit tight. I would highly recommend.

I bookmarked this spot last year and we finally got around to dining here on Thursday for lunch at noon. Parking lot is shared with 7-11, Barbershop and Jewelry store. It feels a little sketchy on the outside but the inside feels like sunshine. We were greeted by the friendly woman behind the counter. We welcomed us warmly and clearly explained the process and other menu offerings. We got to sample all the curry sauces, it was hard to choose since they were all divine. She sat up at a table and brought over menus and water. I peeked at the menu before we arrived and had my heart set on Khao Soi with the steamed tofu, rice noodles and Papaya Salad on the side. My friend ordered Massaman with veggies and Jasmine Rice. She also got a Thai Iced Coffee Togo. Both of our meals yummy. I wish my Papaya Salad came with the fermented fish sauce. We ended up stay long after we finished lunch just chatting. There were a few other patrons dining during our visit. Definitely tempted to come back to try a different combination and may the mango and sticky rice.

Delicious! Everything was so good! Service was awesome. Parking kinda sucks though.

This is a such a nice little restaurant. As soon as you walk in you can see and feel the care and love this owner has put into this space. She will greet you first and have you taste her incredible curries. There are six of them. Each are delicious and unique from the others. You chose your protein, add a curry and a base. They also have other dishes as well if you don't want curry. We order the khao soi, Penang, and green curries. We had the crispy duck, salmon, and chicken. Also ordered the papaya salad. Each was delicious and we all enjoyed our dishes. We also tried the mango and sticky rice. Definitely will come back here.

Khao soi with egg noodle and softshell crab
Jennifer N.

It was our first time and we were greeted warmly. Our waitress had us try all the curry flavors and they were honestly all delicious. I've never had an experience like this before and the customer service was amazing. For my first visit I had the fried softshell crab with the khao soi and egg noodles. It was delicious and I wish my stomach was big enough to try more food but it looks like I will have to return again so I can try the other flavors and protein options. What drew me here was I wide selection of proteins on the menu and they had an Instagram story mentioning that they had softshell crab on the menu. The interior was super bright and clean. I really liked the vibe. I can't wait to try more

I love this place so much. It's like Chipotle but for curry! They have other thai dishes as well but all of their curries are delicious especially the khao soi and massaman. Staff are kind and the coconut thai tea is addicting sometimes i drink two .

We had a reservation as well and were seated right away. I am someone who looks at menus before I go places and I had my eye on something that was not on the menu anymore. I forgot to take a picture of the updated menu, however the beef dish I got was one of the newer items. The food was family style so great to share. Both dishes I felt were really yummy, not too salty, and good portions. If anything, I wish there would have been a little more ribeye because it was tasty. Another random side note, I wish there was more than one bathroom!

It can get pretty busy just got to put in some extra time in the neighborhood or streets for metered parking. Seating: Inside and outside seating. For inside, reservations are recommended. Room for about 50 people. Vibes: Welcome to North Park, a lot of eateries and bars to hop around. It's a pretty hip place with constant traffic. The spot itself is Retro Chinese-American aesthetic with a modern twist. Think red lighting, plants, and a playlist that keeps the energy up. It's one of those spots that feels trendy but still approachable--good for dates or catching up with friends. FOOD / DRINKS Mayo Walnut Shrimp (Recommend) This is one of their standout dishes--and for good reason. Crispy shrimp coated in that creamy, slightly sweet sauce with candied walnuts. It hits that crunchy + rich + sweet combo really well and is easily one of the safer bets on the menu. Green Beans (Recommend) Simple but solid. Good balance to the heavier shrimp--fresh, slightly savory/umami making it a nice side to round things out. Ginger Lemonade (Recommend) A refreshing sip with a nice bite of ginger. SERVICE Friendly and efficient, especially considering how busy it gets. Food comes out fairly quick once you're seated. TL;DR OVERALL 4 stars. Steady prices, good food, and good choices. Fun spot with strong vibes and solid Chinese-American comfort food. It leans more elevated takeout-style than traditional, but that's kind of the appeal. I've been to pretty good Chinese spots but this is a nice experience if you're looking for nice aesthetics and good food. Came here with their revamped fine dining Korean Asian Fusion menu during Happy Hour and this place…read morewas absolutely amazing!!!!! First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. I can't believe it's not cheesecake - Definitely a mix of a brûlée but with a cheesecake flavor. Confusing but works lol. We met the executive chef, Kyler, who explained and served some of dishes we ordered. The entire staff was so accommodating and even reminded us if we needed our parking validated! Our water never ran empty and our dishes were promptly taken away as we finished. Definitely a place to visit during HH since they offer amazing food and cocktail choices.

My wife and I went here for dinner expecting to eat great food based on all the high reviews and…read morethe upscale price, but we were instead left with disappointment and a big fat check with an unexpected automatic 20% gratuity fee for 2 people. Food: We got several appetizers and 3 entrees. We had the Mango Kimchi Salad, Bulgogi Birria Vampiro, Silkworm Pupa Tacos, Doenjang Risotto, Miso Lingcod, and Braised Short Rib. We got plenty of dishes to try, but unfortunately they were either simply mediocre or had an issue. The Kimchi Salad was too strong in spice and the mangos were unripe and hard. The Birria Vampiro was simply mediocre and sort of bland. Silkworm Pupa Tacos were again sort of bland. The Risotto was undercooked and crunchy instead of 'al dente'. Miso Lingcod had a very fishy taste and not much else. And the Braised Short Rib was too salty. Drinks: I got the Choi's cocktail and my wife got the Gangnam Style espresso martini. Both drinks were very well made and tasted great! Service: Unlike the food, the service was great! From the person who confirmed our reservation, to the staff at the front of the door, and to our server, they were all extremely friendly. We were celebrating an occasion, which we made known when booking and upon sitting down we got a handwritten card with a congratulations note. That was very unexpected and awesome! We also got a couple of complimentary cocktail shots from the bartender while we were there. Overall, I would say the staff and service was extremely good. Parking: The area of San Diego that Choi's is located is unfortunately very bad. Overfilled with homeless, drug addicts, and just plain shady looking people who roam the streets. I was overjoyed when I found out that they give you two hours of complimentary parking in a safe place! So to summarize: The staff that provide great service, the bartender with awesome drinks, and the free parking in a safe place simply do not make up for the main reason we were there: the food. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 was because of all these other factors besides the food. Before paying the bill and leaving, we did let the server know about the issues we found with the food in a very friendly and constructive way. She was thankful for the honesty and the feedback.

The hostess had a note for our anniversary celebration. They also printed a little celebatory note directly on the menu - a great personal touch. Our server was friendly and answered any questions we had. We ordered the beef tartare, smoked aged duck, and the deep fried sand bass. For the drink we ordered the Seasame Soirée. While our food came out pretty slow, I'd say it was worth the wait. We also enjoyed 2 complimentary glasses of bubbly while we waited as part of our anniversary celebration. The restarant itself is decorated beautifully with a jazzy ambiance. The interior had bits of gold and green with a beautiful pearlescent leafy wallpaper. The bar is located in the center and also doubles as a centerpiece to the restuarant. Restrooms are located in the back - there we many private, clean and spacious rooms. Below is a summary of the food we ordered: Beef Tartare (5/5) - Savory, sweet and spicy beef tartare dressed in fish sauce and thai chilis. Paired alongside fresh herbs like cilantro, shiso, argula and radicchio. The sesame rice crackers were light and airy. Smoked Dry Aged Duck (5/5) - Perfectly cooked, sweet and salty aged smoked duck paired with rice noodles, herbs and 2 different sauces. I appreciated the many ways you can wrap and enjoy the duck. I do wish the slices of duck were either smaller or thinner - it's hard to eat in one bite. Whole Fried Sand Bass (4/5) - I'll always order a whole firied fish wherever I go and this was no expection. I loved the sweet & sour ginger sauce. The fish was a bit over-fried in my personal opinion, but the inside is still very soft and tender. Sweet & Sour Rice Noodles (5/5) - Aboslutely delicious! Slippery and cold rice noodles dressed in fish sauce and other seasonings. It's not overpowering at all and goes great with the Whole Fried fish as well. Seasame Soiree Cocktail (5/5) - A very unique drink made with gin, ginger, coconut, seasame seeds and more. It was very fragrant in the best way. The flavor really develops after the first sip. I love how nutty and decadent yet light this drink is. Overall, I had a great experience here and this is one of the top restaurants I've had the pleasure of enjoying in SD. Highly reccomend especially if you like Vietnamese food / fish-sauce forward dishes. (At least for the dishes I ordered)

A point was lost here for the time between receiving those starters and our mains (the scallops and half chicken). They were both delicious, but the gap in time was so large that we had to take most of those two to go to meet our next reservation. The restaurant has so much character, with dim lighting and walls covered in signatures from past diners that make you feel a real sense of community. Eric and his wife really make the restaurant what it is. They are kind, generous, and genuinely good people who care about their customers. You can see the hard work and heart they put into the food; they are so warm and it makes you feel like you're getting to know them. It's a great spot for mixed groups of vegans and meat-eaters, and I noticed a lot of older families and couples there as well--in my opinion, it would make a great date spot. The food is incredibly thoughtful in a way that feels very personal. We started with a complimentary marinated tofu salad with a unique beet sauce, and the marinated tofu itself was excellent--honestly the best I've had in a while. I was told it's actually hand-made in-house, and you can really taste that quality. They also gave us fried tofu which was a hit with my friends. Eric was even kind enough to give us extra tofu to take home, and following his recommendation, my mother used it to make a fish soup the next day that was delicious. I ordered a modified pork tonkatsu rice noodle soup, and it had a warm, nurturing quality that made me feel right at home. It's a great fusion spot, and because there is so much soul in the food, it isn't monotonous at all. Eric was so attentive that he even brought me extra broth when he noticed my noodles had soaked it all up. They even provided complimentary ice cream and a glutinous rice dish at the end. You go here because you want to feel nurtured and eat food that is good for your body and your soul, and the cherry on top is getting to support such good people. I definitely want to come back when I'm in town.

Roppongi is so legit. We went here the first night they were open. The Hot Rock steak is a really…read morecool dining experience. And that crab tower is really neat. The half price apps from 4-6 are where it's at. They're super affordable. Been here 3 times and it's just great every time. Plus they have NA Asahi. The Sweet & Sour Calamari. Damn. It's probably the best calamari AND sweet & sour sauce I've ever had. I'm picky about that sauce too. Like really it's that good. I hope this place actually sticks around because it's so good. Everyone who works here is super good at what they do too. Super nice people. Oh, and ocean views.

I had my family in town and really hyped up their sushi as it was so fresh previously, I was so embarrassed when they brought out the dining equivalent to chicken nuggets. The prices are absolutely asinine, my family is already skeptical of CA prices and I was hoping to show them that sometimes they're worth it but instead this just reinforced the stereotype of paying $20 for prepackaged food. 2 stars because our waitress was super nice and gave us a free dessert. She was really apologetic as well. I hope they can turn it around, it's such a beautiful location, I'd hate to see it go to waste on such poor food.

I did take out for this order and give her my name. I ask for an extra bag because it's going on the plane back home with me. She laughs and accommodates my request. I'm in and out in no time as I ordered ahead online. When I finally take the first bite, it's just like it's always been, SCRUMPTIOUS & bursting with flavor. The duck is SO GOOD. This is the only place I know that does Roasted Duck Drunken Noodles and they do it WELL. Save it on your list for places to go in San Diego!

I wish I could give half stars I would give 4.6 stars for two reasons: 1) The paper towel dispenser…read morewas broken and it was a known issue but no alternative was provided. And 2) the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup didn't have as much Duck or as much flavor as k expected. It was still very good, the portions are generous when you order a soup or a curry - it's just the protein that seems a bit scanty. I have been coming here for about 28 years. It's definitely changed over time and I believe changed owners at some point too, It is a great late night option but do call ahead if you will arrive after midnight, They used to be open until 3 am. Last night when I called, it was a Saturday and they were doing last seating at 2:00 am with an official close time of 2:15 am. The Roasted Duck Noodle Soup was huge. I ate a lot and still had most of a standard large soup container to take home. The spinach and bean sprouts were extremely fresh. They put in a single mostly boneless duck thigh. It could have used more for the volume of broth provided. My husband ordered the Panang Salmon. He enjoyed it and the salmon filet was of a good size. However, it was also out of proportion to the amount of curry it was served with. The Bulgogi Pot Stickers are delicious! Definitely a must order item, They are greasier than other pot stickers due to the nature of the bulgogi, The atmosphere is nice. People are friendly. When it's busy you are definitely close to the other patrons and conversations are easily overheard. The hot Chrysanthemum Tea was very good but did taste like it arrived presweetened. The coconut ice cream is fabulous and made in house. This is definitely one of my top 3 go to places for late night dining in San Diego.
