Corner Thai is our family's go-to Thai place in our neck of the woods. We've tried others, but this place seems to consistently serve hot, fresh, and tasty meals. We have brought friends and family here as well and everyone seems to find something they like on the menu. Some of our favorites are the yellow curry, wonton cream cheese, hot and sour soup, and of course Pad Thai. Caters well to vegetarians and meats eaters alike. The staff is always happy you've walked in, provide excellent and friendly service, and in our 10+ years, we've never had a bad experience. As this shopping center gets busier with competitors, parking is more challenging, but I can usually find a spot in front of Einstein's which provides a short little walk after dinner too. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating available. I like that it's true quality and comfort, without the snooty atmosphere or employees. 10 out of 10. Hope this place stays around forever! read more

I'm picky about where I will eat Thai food. I will be returning. The restaurant is a simple storefront in a strip mall with easy parking and a pleasant patio area. The lunch special was reasonably priced and well portioned. The ingredients were fresh, and the food was well prepared without an excess of oil. Service was friendly and accommodating. Perfect place for a quick lunch or casual dinner. read more

I was in this area so I decided to check it out after seeing it on Yelp. I stopped in to order take out. I order spicy noodles(mild), pad se ew(no spice) and Panang curry.(mild) I chose beef for both noodle dishes and tofu for the Panang curry. I waited about 15 minutes for my order, all of it was cooked fresh and piping hot. 1.Spicy noodles with beef- The noodles were soft, the beef was sliced thinner and tender. The spice level was perfect, the seasoning was delicious. 5/5 2.Pad See Ew- We always love this dish since it's really all about these rice noodles. But this always has a pretty mild and sweet flavor, it's a nice contrast to the spicy noodles. We usually get a bunch of dishes and share since we want a little bit of each dish to eat. Beef was tender and thin, delish. 5/5 (could have more broccoli in it, but it might be a common theme for veggies in noodle dishes) 3. Panang curry: We were craving curry, this flavor is my favorite. It's creamy, sweet and spicy. I used to always get meat in these dishes, but I realized that tofu just soaks up all that curry. 5/5 The top experience was about a month ago. I just this past week had to head over in the same area so I decided to get take out again. I ordered over the phone and when I got there, my order was ready. I ordered around 8:45 pm and they closed at 9:30 pm. I got there around 9:15pm. I ordered spicy noodles with beef, pad see Ew with beef, Panang curry with tofu and massaman curry with tofu. This time around the beef in dishes I got was not so tender, but the flavoring was the same. I was very disappointed since I tend to think of all the proteins, the beef usually is cooked well. (not chewy or tough). Both curries had the great flavor that I expected, but I chose mild for both of them and the Panang was DEFINITELY much much spicier than the Massaman. I literally had to eat it in stages. I am always confused for spice levels, why it wouldn't be the same. So for most recent visit, I would rate both the noodles dishes 3/5 since the beef was disappointing. I wasn't sure if it was the end of the night but it was not tender and fresh tasting. Massaman curry I rate 5/5, all of us enjoyed it very much and it fit the 'mild' spice level. Panang curry- (which I got the first time ever visiting this spot and it was not that spicy!).. I would rate it a 3/5. It was way too spicy for folks in my family so that was also disappointing. I will definitely keep this place on my list, the 3rd time I go, I will be able to make my decision. First time was the bomb, 2nd time had some issues. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 (cute little place, always did pick up) Food: 3/5 read more

Went here for a friend's going away luncheon. We all ordered the lunch special with different entrees. I got the green curry with mild spice, a Thai iced tea, and mango sticky rice. The food was delicious. Service was o-k... our party was fairly large with four-then- five people at the very end. Inside was a bit warm until they opened the back door and the air began to circulate. I enjoyed my food. The price was AWESOME. I recommend the lunch special for the price. Definitely a great value. read more

Love Thai food and the effort that goes into the presentation. We tried several different entrees including Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, yellow curry with beef, pad Thai noodles, and of course the sticky rice with mango for dessert. It's a very small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and as the name suggests, at the corner of the strip mall. It's not huge, and they don't accommodate large parties. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The food was also pretty good. read more

The food is authentic and delicious. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Although the place is not big it is nice and cozy with enough inside and outside seating. There is plenty of near by parking because of it's surrounding shops and other eateries. I have never had a bad dish. Sorry I do not have any pictures to share. read more

The Corner Thai Kitchen actually does take up the corner of this shopping/ dining plaza! Its cozy corner was inviting us in for some Thai Eats! There is patio seating, a few tables in the front, and booth seating. Drunken Noodles (4/5): Great chewy texture on the noodles! Decided to get it mild and so without the spice, the overall flavors of the noodles are sweet from the bell peppers and bamboo shoots. There was a decent amount of chicken in the noodles and the portions were well balanced. Pork (4/5): We were recommended this as an alternative to their crying tiger as they were out of it. The entree comes with a bowl of rice. It came with carrots, broccoli, and cabbage for garnish as well as a dipping sauce. I tasted rice powder the sauce, and it was very tangy. I didn't use much of it as I found the flavor of the pork was better on its own. The pork was not dry which was a saving factor we would definitely prefer beef more! It makes for a casual spot for Thai food for the area. I would have to try other options, but overall our picks were decent. read more

Corner Thai Kitchen is the kind of place that reminds you why small dining rooms and big flavors will always beat flashy decor and fusion nonsense. It is authentic in all the right ways, not because it tries to impress you, but because it cooks like someone's grandma who has been feeding a village for forty years and still worries you did not eat enough. The cao soi soup is the star. A bowl that feels like a warm handshake. Rich broth, tender chicken, noodles with just the right chew, and that golden curry aroma that hits you before the spoon does. It is comfort with personality, the kind of dish that makes you pause mid bite and nod to yourself like you just solved a small mystery. The pad Thai is another winner. Balanced, bright, not too sweet, not too oily, and full of that wok kissed depth that only comes from someone who respects the craft. It is the version you compare other pad Thais to without even realizing it. And the lunch specials. A blessing. Generous portions, fair prices, and enough variety that you can rotate through the menu without ever feeling like you are settling. It is the kind of lunch setup that makes you feel like the restaurant is on your side. The dining room is narrow, almost like a walkway, but somehow the booths still give you privacy. It feels less like a commercial restaurant and more like you wandered into a Thai family diner where everyone knows the recipes by heart. There is a coziness to it, a lived in charm that makes you relax before the food even arrives. Corner Thai Kitchen is the real deal. Honest cooking, comforting dishes, and a space that feels like it was built for feeding people rather than impressing them. Five stars for heart, flavor, and that grandma energy that never misses. read more

I've eaten here several times before, and unfortunately the food quality seems to have steadily declined. My last visit was last night, and after this experience, I don't plan on returning. I ordered the mango chicken. The chicken was overcooked, bland, and there were surprisingly few pieces of it in the dish. It was mostly vegetables, which was especially disappointing considering the price. The texture and quality of the chicken were also very off-putting. We also ordered the Mongolian beef, and unfortunately that was badly overcooked as well. For what we received compared with what we paid, the quality simply wasn't there. It's disappointing because I've had much better food here in the past. Maybe we caught them on a particularly bad night, but based on the steady decline I've noticed and this most recent experience, I won't be returning. Your experience may vary, but mine was not good at all. read more

We mainly come here because it's the easiest place to get khao soi. I realize there are plenty of San Diego Thai restaurants that serve khao soi, but those places usually have bad parking or too busy. This place just happens to be close to our house, has decent parking, and it happens to taste pretty good! They have other standard dishes as well such as pad thai, pad see ewe, and tom yum; they're also good but we always end up getting khao soi, haha. We like to go here a little early to beat the lunch/dinner crowd and we've never had any issues with seating. The service is good, too. My only complaint is that their boba is just ok; we do like the Thai ice tea, but the boba is overcooked and tends to be hard. Otherwise, this is a good place to go for Thai! read more

"Everything was good. We loved the tom yum and everything else. The service, however, was not so great. You need additional staff who can greet customers and be more friendly. On one occasion, the lady serving left while we were still trying to order. The place is small, but the food is worth the visit despite the negatives. The staff are so sweet. I would order more often, but when I call in my order, they tell me that it's an hour wait I've gotten the satay and the yellow chicken curry. Both are very good. Parking lot with plenty of parking Get the mango sticky rice or go next-door and get a cupcake read more

Great experience overall. I ordered the yellow chicken curry, pineapple fried rice with added sausage, wings, and the sampler. The potatoes and carrots were undercooked in the curry. I have a new lunch routine and it's the best hack when I am hungry but want to be healthy: steamed veggie side, steamed jasmine rice side. Buy the peanut sauce and ask for a side of the vinegar with peppers in it. Mix the sauce with the pepper vinegar. Put rice as your base in a bowl with your veggies and some sauce to top. If you want to be bougie pay them a dollar for small side of crushed peanuts topping and sprinkle it on top. This makes at least two lunches. If I want proteins the fried egg is cooked delicious. But normally the rice and veggies is enough and so delicious. the ladies are always busy but so kind and there is a gentleman sometime working who is very kind too. I love their decorations and they put in effort to always keep it clean. read more

This place was great! We ordered the pad see ew, pad Thai, and yellow curry with duck. I really loved the flavors -- everything tasted fresh and well balanced. Just a small note: if you're very sensitive to spicy food, their medium spice level can feel a bit spicier than expected. I personally enjoy spicy food so it was perfect for me, but for my husband it was a little too much. Overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely come back! read more

Delicious food, presentation on point for Thai food. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean and inviting.

Drunken noodles are still as delicious as the first time I tried them , 9 months ago. Medium spice was a little too spicy for me... black Cheetos spicy level ( hopefully you know what I mean) :)... or very close to serrano chile spicy. Next time I will ask for mild and chili on the side . Service was great- i ordered to go. My only complaint is that now they serve less shrimps :( ... 9 months ago I mentioned shrimp was not enough... this time it was also not enough but, I wont mention how many or else they might serve less :( Will I be back? Maybe... but I will buy my shrimp at the grocery store and cook them myself and I will add to noodles. read more

Corner Thai carryout always hits the spot. I've had the chicken red curry and drunken noodles several times now and it's always spot on. I like that they also let you order the curry sauce itself on its own. I get extra to add to rice at home. One time when I ordered I didn't indicate one of the options and they called right away to confirm what I wanted, so I'm glad they ensure they are preparing the right thing instead of guessing. I definitely need to go in person for their lunch special some time and should probably branch out to other dishes. But those two are my fave, so why ruin the good thing I have going? read more

They have a really good lunch special that comes with the main item and then with sides of salad, egg roll and cream cheese wonton. Their dinner specials are great too and the positions are big and plenty to feed my family of three. Make sure the spice level you want because it can get spicy. I found out that the curry has a kick and can get spicy, It doesn't bother me but I know some people aren't a fan of spicy food. I really enjoyed this place and will be coming back again. I went here for lunch prior to the lunch rush. The restaurant is small but there is outside seating. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee which was fabulous. It wasn't too sweet and was very balanced. The papaya salad was fire, it was sweet and spicy. Stopped by for a quick order to-go. First time trying this place and couldn't decide between a stir fry or curry. Opted with mixed vegetable entree with duck. In a word, it was terrible. The duck had a real off flavor and was very tough. The ingredients consisted of bean sprouts, mushy cabbage, a few slices of carrot, three small pieces of broccoli and it all was swimming in water. It was more of a soup than a vegetable stir fry. I will not be back. read more

Corner Thai took over the previous Thai establishment and I actually like this place better. Their menu is huge! Mainly Thai dishes with a mix of Lao, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. We came for dinner and a few days later came for lunch during 11-3pm. They also have happy hour from 3:30-6pm. Has patio seating and 6 tables inside. We've ordered: -curry puffs -mixed tempura -orange chicken -pad Thai (spice level 5) -crab fried rice (spice level 7) -Panang curry -garlic wings -beef pad see ew lunch (spice level 7) -combo drunken noodles lunch (level 7) Pad Thai and crab fried rice are always our go to when it's our first time dining. Both dishes had great flavors but too wet, almost soggy. Great crab portions. We took it home and dried it out a bit and it tasted excellent. The lunch special came with a side of soup of the day, salad, egg roll and cream cheese wonton. Great portions. Overall, Corner Thai was decent except the wings had a smell to it like freezer burn fried in oil. The flavor and texture also lacking. Spice level 7 seems to be the right mark for me giving that kick at the end where you could still taste the flavors. read more

Wouldn't recommend. The food was delicious but I wouldn't go back. Only two people to waitress the day we went. The young girl was very sweet and helpful and courteous but the older lady who ended up helping us not even half way through the meal was very rude. She acted like we offended her by coming in and she actually had to work! I don't know why or what her problem was because it wasn't busy but she just seemed she didn't want to be there and certainly not wanting to help patrons at all! And we couldn't tell if there were any other problems, causing them issues. Everything seemed fine except her attitude! read more
