What was I thinking? I've been going to Coco Shrimp for a couple years, on average 2-3 times a month and just found I never reviewed it! That stops now! This place is our GO TO place. Love the shrimp with any flavor sauce. But that's not all, the salad is fantastic, and the rice is to die for. The only changes I could recommend is adding a store near Justin, and being open 24/7. I've been a fan since they were just a single food truck that showed up in my work's parking lot every couple of weeks. When I found out they opened a brick-and-mortar location right across the highway from me, I was thrilled! Their shrimp is hands down the best I've ever had at a fast-food spot -- though honestly, they feel more like a casual restaurant than typical fast food. I have been wanting to try this place forever! I finally made it down on a Friday night. I was feeling introverted and decided to place a pick up order. The online ordering system was convenient and easy. It told me my order would be ready in 20 mins. I got an alert maybe 10 mins later letting me know it was ready and waiting. I went through the drive thru to pick up the order and the girl manning the window was friendly, courteous and quick. The shrimp were a nice size. I ordered an extra garlic butter based on previous reviews. I was so glad I did! It completely elevated the rice! There was soooo much rice! More rice than anyone should eat in one sitting. I only ate half of the rice and ate the rest with another dish the next day. I ordered the coco shrimp. Again, the shrimp were a nice size. The crunch and taste were phenomenal. I just wish there was more shrimp, even just one more... all in all I enjoyed my meal and will be back. read more

I was looking at some of the previous reviews and photos and wasn't too sure I would get full with only six shrimp, some rice, and salad. I was wrong. I did order the combo that came with seven shrimp; however the entire meal was still quite filling. Between three of us in our party, we had the coconut, the sweet and spicy, and the garlic butter shrimp. Every single one of them were excellent. I preferred the peppercorn dressing however my family both enjoyed the ginger dressing more. If you get the garlic butter shrimp it adds excellent flavor to the rice as all that goodness seeps into it. My favorite however was still the coconut. Perfectly battered, not over fried, and the dipping sauce that accompanies it was excellent. I used to go to the little food truck they had by the hardware store so it's so nice to be able to sit IN their restaurant. Honestly haven't had an issue and I've ordered from here many, many times. My go to is the sampler shrimp plate. I get spicy shrimp, garlic butter (the best) and lemon pepper. I've tried the coco shrimp but sadly wasn't a fan. For my salad I ask for no raisins and poppyseed as my dressing. Everything is delicious! From the shrimp to the rice to the salad. My husband asks for double rice instead of salad. Came here for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend and we definitely were impressed! We got to plates both combos and were so happy with it! The garlic butter rice definitely was new for us and it was delicious! It was also delicious for leftovers! The seal of approval our toddler ate everything and when a toddler eats everything you know it's good! It was very crowded though (since the food was so good) I would definitely plan on a wait on take to go! This place definitely needs an expansion plan soon. Coco shrimp is such a great place. I love the concept of different flavored shrimp that lay on a bed of buttery rice with a salad on the side. I recommend trying the sampler to try all flavors. It's the perfect size meal. You get seven shrimp. My husband and I tried all the flavors. My favorite was the coco shrimp, lemon butter, and spicy. The spicy is more of a mild spice, which has a kick, but not so much you can't enjoy your food. They offer a kids air potion for little ones. Our little one doesn't like shrimp so we ordered a side of rice, avocado and pineapple. He only ate the ríce. But the avocado was fresh and seasoned with pepper. Fantastic food!! Star 1- the appearance of the place is so appealing. From the faucet sinks to the table, it was really nice. Star 2- the employees are really nice and the food came out pretty quick. Star 3- the menu is basic and easy to pick out what you want. Star 4- food is amazing! I always get the coco shrimp and the sweet and spicy shrimp! Pairs really well with the salad and the ginger dressing. Definitely try the ginger dressing if you like the type of salads you'd find at sushi places! We really liked Coco Shrimp! The venue is fantastic! It's like you just walked up to a Shrimp Truck on the North Shore of Oahu. The menu is simple, but excellent. Our group tried the Coco Shrimp and Garlic Butter Shrimp. Both were very good. Tons of flavor and cooked perfectly! It comes in a "to-go" like box, which is very food truck-esque. Of course, if they were going for the Hawaiian look...they need to replace them with styrofoam boxes. :-) The shrimp came on an absolutely delicious bed of buttery rice! Yum! The plate also comes with a nice side salad. We had the poppyseed dressing which was very good. So, why did I drop it from 5 to 4 stars. Well, it came down to two relatively minor issues that I hope they fix for my next visit. 1. 6 shrimp is just not enough - I'd rather pay $15 and get 9-12 (or at least have the option to add shrimp.) 2. The $1 for grilled pineapple was disappointing. It was just a few pieces cut-up and tossed in the salad. I was expecting a nice grilled ring or spear or two. But, overall, this is place is great! I love everything about Coco Shrimp - from their rice loaded with all the salted butter in the world to the coco tacos! I asked once if the tacos could be customized to anything else besides the coco shrimp, and they sadly said no. Therefore, my first few visits were always the samplers with the lemon herb and butter garlic with the ginger dressing for the salad. And those first few visits were always delicious! Then, one day, my coworker ordered the tacos and said they were really good, and you wouldn't even care that it was the coconut shrimp. I trusted their judgement (I normally don't trust this person's judgment), and ordered it in my next visit. I was so glad I overlooked the coco shrimp because the tacos are freaking amazing! The tortillas are perfectly crispy, without being crispy taco shells, and the sauce/dressing on the tacos themselves really brings out the flavor of everything else! The two tacos are plenty of food if you're not wanting the 1lb of rice that they give you for their samplers! The restaurant itself is always clean, I love that there are sinks on the outside of the restrooms just in case you get down and dirty into your shrimpies. Food also comes out super fast. read more
