Went to lunch with some co-workers here one day. The food was very good but the menu is limited with mainly only fried shrimp. Mainly fried items on the menu. Order at the front- no table side service. I don't remember the ambiance. It's a small place- good for lunch in a rush. The reason I am giving only 2 stars is because I took some leftovers home with me and my daughter ate some. Later in the day, both of us were sick from it. I won't be returning here. Amazing. The dining room was clean. Staff was friendly. It was our first visit, and we plan to go back. We did the combination sampler and thought that might be the way to go every time. The only thing that kept them from 5 stars was the cost, two sampler meals, and drinks $33. Especially for an order from the line, then sit down. We tried Coco Shrimp a few days ago after spotting it and wanting to try it. The food was really great! My wife had the Coco Shrimp and I had a sampler with three varieties, all served on a massive bed of rice that was just as good as the shrimp,and a small salad. Loved every bite. And a special side note to whomever made the decision to spend a few more bucks on really nice speakers for the sound system. I am always sad when I eat at a restaurant and the sound system seems to be an afterthought rather than an important part of the dining experience. read more

SERIOUSLY AMAZING. I got a sampler plate with coconut, lemon, and sweet/spicy and the flavors were out of this world. The coconut shrimp was better in a taco that I shared with a friend than in the bowl. The taco was so flavorful and fresh. The rice is buttery, so it's kind of heavy, but goes so well with the shrimp. Poppyseed dressing is a must for the salad! OMG IT IS SO GOOD! I ordered the Coco Shrimp Tacos and my husband had the Shrimp Sampler. The tocos had a nice flour tortilla with loads of Coco Shrimp and an absolutely delicious sauce. The sampler platter was nice that you could try 3 different types of shrimp. Each one was as delicious as another. Sampler also came with a side of nicely seasoned sticky rice and some salad. Coco Shrimp is in between a fast-food and a sit-down restaurant. You order at the counter, and the menu is limited to guess what-Shrimp! If you are a Shrimp lover then I will say you will be very happy, otherwise, this place may not be for you as they only sell shrimp plates. I had the sampler plate which allowed me to choose three flavors for my shrimp and came with a salad and rice. I chose spicy, butter garlic, and their signature coco shrimp. I loved all three and thought the rice was delicious. The salad comes with either poppyseed or ginger dressing--I tried both and liked the poppyseed the best. Came with my children and mom. Manager walked by and asked what we thought. I politely gave him my opinion that it was delicious but not great for larger families and that I would probably have to take my kids elsewhere afterward. The box is half lettuce, half rice with 3 shrimp for a kids box (not on the menu) and 6 shrimp for a regular box. The manager came back about 10 minutes later and asked my kids (not me) very loudly, "getting full?!" Which I thought was quite rude that he did not address me again. Regardless, I took home a small amount of lettuce and rice for my chickens and my kids were hungry after our 15 min ride home. I can spend the same amount at Marty B's and my kids are actually full. Restaurant cleans, puts up chairs, closes and locks doors 10-15 prior to the time posted on the door. If you show up at 8:45pm and the signage on the door says they close at 9pm, the workers are literally going to stare at you through the locked doors. The signage on the door needs to reflect the actual time you are still cooking food and serving customers. Instead the time posted on the door is the time the workers leave to go home. read more
