I had a gift certificate for a gel mani/gel pedi I got a gel mani and a regular pedi. I did not want a gel pedicure. Once all was done they were charging me $22 dollars more. I asked them to honor the gift certificate. Then I asked to speak to the manager. She was not on the premises so they called her. She also refused and said it doesn't matter what was written down. Only the money matters. No surprise there. They have lost a few customers but they have so many I guess it doesn't matter. She was very argumentative. Rudest owner I have ever come across. Nail tech did a pretty good job but not worth the price and especially the aggravation from the owner. Owner was unbelievably rude, even made a comment that I was a walk-in, as if I should feel lucky that they took me in. this nail salon is where i usually go for my nails. i generally have good experiences. However, i went a few days ago for french acrylic tips and i'm really unhappy with my service and how they came out. they look okay from a distance but when you see them up close, they look horrendous. and it was really expensive, $50. the lady doing my nails stopped every 5 minutes to answer the phone and greet customers so it took longer than necessary. i enjoy their regular manicures and pedicures but i need to find a new place for when i want tips. read more

We decided to try this place because its closer to my house. Before making an appt I went in the day before and checked it out. The place looked decent it was super busy, clean. I inquired about prices thought it was a little expensive but i said hey how bad can you mess up a pedicure. Boy did i put the whamy on myself! Never had any issues coming to this salon. Last time I was there, the manager rudely told me and my friend to "keep it down". Just to clarify, I was not yelling or speaking loudly. I was leaving town and in desperate need of a mani/pedi before hopping on a plane and luckily coco nails opened up 30 mins before the other salons in the area. Once again, my big complaint is that there was no strength for the massage, very lackadaisical. The whole service was less than a half hour long. Been coming here since it first opened many years ago Never had any issues. It's your basic nail salon and I valued that it was a very clean and no frills place that was close to home and easily accessible. Not the worlds best mani but far from the worst. A few things really bothered me at my last visit. First, I had asked to have my nails buffed very well. After two techs and asking three times, my nails were finally buffed well. But that came with an attitude. My nails are very very short and require very minimal work done so it's not asking a lot here. Not going to get into other small details but I was bothered by two things- when I went to pay I gave debit card but was under the minimum. Ok...So tell people before! not after the fact, that it would be cash only. No secret that I came in asking for just a plain manicure. I opened my wallet and the tech commented on the cash she saw in my wallet. So incredibly unprofessional and rude. She also had wax all over her hands. That means 1) you don't wear gloves when you wax and 2) you don't wash your hands between clients. That right there is 2 of the 5 OSHA violations I noticed and they're offensive enough to not want to come back again. read more

This place is a complete scam. I went for a powder manicure and pedicure. Place is absolutely dirty. They reuse tools, and did not want to give me a bag for the pedicure basin. They only have 20 colors to choose for powder and they're all old. The manicure took an hour and a half. That is u heard of. The girl spent 30 minutes filing down the powder that she just put on. My hands were covered in powder and she did steps in the wrong order. Also, the owner changed the color i chose because they didn't have it, without telling me. When i asked to see the sample of the color she chose, they nudged the samples at me while my hands were already being done. No one even attempted to display the colors and make sure I liked it. I overheard a girl ask if she can put tip on her card , the owner said yes. When it was time for me to pay, when i asked, the owner said no, and after i said i overheard someone else do it, she said "because she asked me before she started services". Then she tells me to go to the back and use the ATM that "only" costs 1.50$ and then proceeded to hand me a bill that said $81.75. I asked where she came up with this total and she said powder isn't on the price list, but it's 52.25$. I said i would not give tip to her employees for this price that's robbery you have to display prices and something else said "powder" which said $40, and she said no it's different. I had been going to a different nail salon on SI for years but then the girl who I always used left and it wasn't the same for me. So I have been looking for a new nail salon for a bit. I live near Coco and happened to be driving by earlier today (Wednesday) and decided to stop in. Before going in I did check Yelp and could see that the reviews were mixed. Anyway, they took me right away and gave me a pleasant welcome. I was getting a standard mani/pedi and so I had the same girl for both. I have to say that although she didn't say much, when I did ask a question (store hours, etc.), she was very pleasant when answering. She did an excellent job with both the pedicure and manicure. My nails, which I keep short and just get done with clear polish, are not in great shape during the spring/summer because I like to garden. Well, this girl worked on my hands for as long as it took to get them looking great. I never felt like she was rushing. And I had never been in there before so she wasn't working hard in anticipation of a good tip. As others have noted, there is a girl in there that gives you a quick neck/upper back massage while you are at the manicure table. Nice touch. Because I hadn't had a pedicure for several months I decided to add on the optional additional leg/feet massage for 10 minutes for $12.00. It was so worth it and I recommend it for anyone who wants something a little extra. You enjoyment of this, of course, is going to greatly depend on who you get and if you like the way they massage. My girl was great. So, in sum, I had a very good experience but like anywhere else, it is going to depend on who you get. I would say that if you find someone that you like, only go back to them. I know that I will ask again for the same girl. I tipped her big and she deserved every penny. As for cost, the cost of the standard mani/pedi 31.+ is the same as I was paying at my old place so no problem for me there. Overall, I say give it a shot. Mind you, I did go on a Weds morning, not sure if I would go there on a busy Sat/Sun because it is large and I could see tons of people on cell phones, yakking away, ruining the peace in there when it's crowded. I've been coming to Coco Nails & Spa for years now and have never had a disappointing visit. I've had all different girls do my manicure and pedicures and they've all done a wonderful job. They have a great color selection and I love their pedicure spa chairs. They're always pretty busy and they accept walk-ins so expect a wait, especially on a Saturday and Sunday. Now that Spring/Summer is coming and toes are about to be out in full-force expect even more crowds. There are people who get huffy and don't like to wait and to those people I say go elsewhere that accepts no walk-ins. There's no room for huffing, puffing and general rudeness to the staff and the other customers. They are on the pricey side but they do good work and are very clean. read more

Very rarely do I go to get my nails done because I work in food and the manicure next lasts but as part of my friends bridal shower weekend we were treated by her family to manicures and pedicures and since that's her spot we needed up there. I opted for a gel manicure which I wanted the OPI as stated and they don't offer it. My gel manicure was 35.00 when on average it's around 25-27.00 way overpriced. So the lady working on me was very sweet and even made a nail so that my nail was uneven which was cool. The lady was great but sadly a few days after I have a big chip that came off and sadly I can't get over there to get it fixed. My friend the bride sadly had an ingrown toenail messed with and was bleeding for around 15 min or so then went for a mani then when went to pay the woman only took a few dollars off??????? We all had a gel mani and three pedicures so our total was over 230.00 and you don't take the pedicure off??? You had a customer bleeding and in pain and didn't take it off?? Shame!
