Taking advantage of the On The Yelp (OTY) check-in offers, I decided to try one of their places that offered this. Firstly, I'm not sure if this is a new location, but the layout of this place is spacious and clean. Thankfully CoCo at this specific location had a $2.50 special for their chocolate caramel slush if an when you checked in as part of the yelp promotion. The rich and thickness of this slushy is quite decadent much like a meal replacement. I easily give this drink a 3.5 out of 5. New location! I like how they opened one here, it's closer to me than the Finch & Midland one. Clean and quiet (on a Tuesday night). Service was average, nothing spectacular. They were having a January promotion. $3.50 for large Red Bean Matcha or 2 Ladies. Ooouu I love Matcha anything! Pretty excited considering their specials are usually drinks I would never order. I wanted to order 30% sugar and more ice but the guy wouldn't let me! Said something about "can only half sugar because ...." I didn't understand the rest. So I just went with 50% sugar + more ice. The Red Bean Matcha was delicious on the first half of the cup, but it gradually got sweeter & sweeter. Weird! Perhaps a large is just too large for a little one like me. I would have preferred less sugar and more red bean. Overall, it tasted pretty good. Not my favourite drink here though. I prefer their Sago Milk Tea + pudding + herbal jelly. read more

After I ordered and sat down to wait, my frugality surfaced and contemplation began on whether I made the right choice because I saw the original Pearl Milk Tea for $4.7 (large), and what I ordered was literally identical except for one word: "roasted", priced at $5.2. I thought, great I pretty much ordered the same thing and paid more, argh. But I was wrong. After taking my first sip, a blast of aromatic roastiness filled my mouth; you can really taste it! this place is messed up. I ordered the most standard drink possible. A taro milk tea with grass jelly. Someone tell me how this place gave me a " milk tea with grass jelly and tapioca" instead. and no I'm not gonna complain and wait another 10 minutes for them to remake my drink while the line is bustling.. so the milk tea was good.. The girls here all speak fluent English, smile and are friendly. It's the only bubble tea store that I actually enjoy going into. I like the drinks at coco since they have such a great variety and is slightly cheaper than other bubble tea chains like chatime, etc. They also have great options and combinations such as three guys and two ladies. I feel like they can write the words of what they consist of a little bigger on the menu. I literally had to walk right in front of the sign and squint to read it. Came here tonight and only one person was making the drinks, so it took a while to wait for. There weren't any seats at 9:30pm, but after waiting a while, there was one seat. I feel like they have a lot more room to place a few extra seats here and there, while stilk making the environment comfortable. I enjoy their specials and recommendations, sometimes when you see what they are promoting, you'll get a pretty good deal, like when I paid $4.20 for three guys back in Christmas time at a different coco location. read more

Their Febuary promotions sparked my interest, and also I have been craving bubble tea, so I decided to check them out. The place is pretty small with not too much seating, but very clean otherwise. On a 7PM Friday evening the place was almost packed, so I decided to just do take-out. From their February special, I ordered the Sago Taro Milk Tea with 30% sugar and less ice. For 30% sugar, it tastes A-ok. It was not overly sweet and tastes just right. It is not creamy as I expected from a milk tea. Good thing the drink was at a discounted price. The drink just didn't meet my expectations when it comes to taste. My BF got the Lemon King from their February special. This one is actually a better drink than the Sago Taro Milk Tea in my opinion. This is such a strong and flavorful drink. It makes sense that it is named Lemon 'King'. Very tasty and very sour at the same time. I came here on their 22 anniversary so the regular sized pearl milk tea is $2.22. The line was as long as I've seen before but this is my first time trying coco. Drink: It can definitely be better. Too me, it didn't really taste like the regular milk tea I expected. I think the tea flavour was too concentrated so it just created a change in the taste. But maybe that is why people like it. Tapioca: It was not soaked long enough, no sweetness to it, still quite hard. Service: It was busy so I understand if some workers were frustrated and didn't want to continue anymore. But whoever made my drink was not paying attention. I asked for no ice but I got ice anyways, but that is no problem. Coco is definitely my favourite bubble tea store in Markham. Their quality is definitely good and consistent. I dare to say that this is better than Chatime. Milk Tea/ 3 Guys/2 Ladies: 3 guys includes grass jelly, pudding and tapioca where as 2 Ladies just has the pudding and tapioca. The milk tea is definitely a lot more milky than most bubble tea shops. Their 3 guys topping definitely goes well with the milk tea... Especially that pudding! I do say their milk tea is more like a preference drink, if you don't like really milky smooth drinks then don't get it. Bubble Gaga: my favourite drink there! I usually stick with the normal milk tea but this one is delicious. It's like a passion fruit green tea with coconut jelly & tapioca. For some reason, it just taste better than other passion fruit bubble teas. Get 50% sugar or else it'll be too sweet! Taro with sago: something different. Usually I eat sago in those Asian desserts but this one is pretty good. It does go well together and the sago is a lot harder than the Asian desserts. Had it twice and the sago was consistent. Came here for their promotion since Vicinity sent me a text that I needed to claim for a buy one get one free. There is a big banner in the front that says grand opening, buy one get one free. No restrictions written, no conditions. After lining up, I told them I had a special offer on my card that I accepted for buy one get one free. The guy told me it's for original milk tea one. Nothing else. So I said it's not written on here (there's a flyer at the cashier) and his excuse is that there isn't enough room on the flyer to write details. But this paper is tons of room! So I asked him what's the difference between offers I have to send text message to receive and this promotion that everybody can walk in to get. He said nothing. So I said thanks, we will go to presotea in the same Plaza. And walked to presotea for happy hour 30% off, any selection at a cheaper price. I only ever come here when my friends want to go to Karaoke. Every time we come in here it is PACKED. Like line to the washroom packed. Full of teens taking up all the tables with 2 drinks at the table..between the 10 of them wtf. The service is decent I have definitely seen faster but I have also seen worse. I like how they always have a different promo going on and whenever i ask for the promo drink they never tell me they are sold out. *cough* chatime vip *cough* The drinks are decent some are a hit or miss. But I think that is mostly due to the fact that I havent found my favourite drink from CoCo yet. Stopped by this place after grabbing some dinner in the Commerce Gate plaza. One of the places that offer Presto Tea with the benefit with the benefit of being a nice sit-down place. It provides an environment which isn't as packed as the well known Chatime in the area.I guess the perception is that people like Chatime more than Presto Tea overall. Upon walking into the place, there is ample seating with a fireplace on the side with a screen. There are ottomans for additional seating available. In the back of the store is the ordering and pickup. Ordering was pretty quick, and it looks like the place offers the typical 2 for $8 promotion with Mango Slush. You greeted with some card games such as Uno, and a deck of cards. Ordered the Mango Slush and it came pretty quickly. I'll admit that it tasted quite good with the flavor of fresh Mango. Overall a good place with what it has to offer. Would give it four stars out of 5 especially with its location being a great spot to grab dessert after grabbing some dinner or lunch in the same plaza. read more

Fastest review ever!!!! Love the taro milk tea oh my god! It's just so.... smooth and perfect omg. Words cannot describe this taste... if you love taro come here! If you've had the hot taro drink at moji they would taste exactly the same! So good on a nice hot day! Although these days it's cold but who cares haha. I'm actually surprised this Coco's got such a low rating. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my bubbletea as there's a lot of other options right now. My absolute favourite is the Sago Milk Tea + tapioca. When I first walked in, I already knew that only bubble milk tea was on promotion but I do agree the wording on the promotion is quite misleading. The girl then told me that she's going to change my order from 2 sago milk tea to 2 bubble milk tea + sago. That literally never happens - the bubbletea stores (especially opening ones) just want to take in as much $ during grand openings to cover expenses. This honestly makes it my fave store right now. The girl even gave me a receipt that allowed me to claim the point I was losing because their tap tap tap Vicinity wasn't set up yet. I've came back here at least 4 times within the last 2 weeks. I heard this place's specialty was the 3 guys drink. They had a BOGO offer for a large milk tea w/tapioca, but you have to try what they specialise in on the first visit. So, of course, what I would inevitably be sucking through my straw was a cup of 3 guys (there is only going to be more and more of these as CoCo gets more reviews). Anyway, 3 guys is milk tea w/tapioca, grass jelly, and pudding. I got mine with no sugar and no ice. The floaties, as my white ex-coworker would call them, are sweet enough to not need any additional sugar in the drink. Overall, it was a good drink but it wasn't something that blew me away. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to it if a friend suggested to grab bubble tea here, but CoCo does not make it on my Mt. Rushmore of bubble tea shops. read more

Finally dropped by here with my mom on our way out from grocery shopping. A very interesting set up, which was a lot larger than I expected. Good for both take out and sit in, but you order on your own at the counter. Was a bit of a chilly day out, so actually wanted something hot. The menu was a bit tough to decipher, as the drinks with a hot option did have an orange circle indication, but it was nearly impossible to see, being super small, and the legend for it was in the finest of fine print at the bottom. I tried the Passion Fruit Black Tea and my mom got a Matcha Latte. Both hot, and were quite good. It took a little bit of time to make it, but both were steaming hot, which is definitely worth the wait. Ambiance was a bit confusing, as the televisions were broadcasting music videos of English songs, but Chinese songs were playing in the space... Definitely will come by again if I am passing by and want a drink! read more

It tastes milkier and has more tea flavour to it. The pudding was also flavourful and chewy. However I could taste the artificial flavour of the tapioca, which was disappointing. A medium is $3.88 as part of the Asia Food Fest. There were also no napkins at the pick up area. As well, no tissues and toilet paper in the female washroom. More attention to service would be nice. I think it's pretty good BBT better than the other places around here like Cha Time and Gong Cha. Just had the original bbt and it was around $5. Kind of pricey, but that's equivalent to the places I listed above. Quality is pretty good and you have the ability to customize your drinks like all the other places. They also have very interesting special drinks that I've never seen before so I'm excited to try those out next time I come back! I have only been here once and I had a really good experience. I ordered the large bubble gaga which had tapioca and coconut jelly. The base was passionfruit green tea I believe. The drink itself was super good and tasty but I do think it was a little too sweet so I should have gotten less sweet. I actually wanted A drink that was on their online menu which was grapefruit and orange mixed together but they actually didn't have the orange juice I guess so I got the bubble gaga instead. The person that took my order was super nice and friendly. And even though there was a lineup when I got to the store they get through the line pretty quickly. I probably waited in line for maybe 5-7 minutes. The store it's self is very clean, modern looking, and a place where you could just chill with friends. However, the parking lot is a disaster. It took me more than 10 minutes to find a parking spot. Customer service and product quality is what brought this rating down... This is in a super convenient location in Markham, not to mention all the other chains popping up everywhere. Plenty of parking available (although you might not park righttt in front of the store). The size of the place is bigger than I thought. There's a lot of seating inside as well, even a small fire place (obviously not real) by the window. There's not much decor except for 4 walls and 2 TVs constantly playing Chinese music videos and Korean whatnot, so don't expect it to be like a coffee shop to sit around and lounge with your laptop all day. The location of the order desk though is literally right in front of the door. So if it's a cold ass day you're basically gonna freeze waiting for your order. On my first visit there, we actually waited for almost 20 minutes for one bubble tea, and people were piling up... we then realized it was because they ran out of tapioca and had to make it on the spot... maybe you should watch how much inventory you have before taking order after order. Just a tip, CoCo. Quality-wise, though, Chatime or Ten Ren's would be my pick over CoCo. They do use milk 'powder' as opposed to the real, good stuff. Taste-wise it's still okay, but if you compare it side by side you can tell the difference. If you're paying $5 or more for a bubble tea, you might as well get the real stuff. They have $3.50 specials going on every now and then. Yes, $3.50 for a LARGE. The flavours change so you get a different pick every time. Unlike other CoCos with long, front to back layouts, this Coco is better sized, making the table set up great to bring friends or coworkers to for that good good boba. Especially if you catch this location during down time it is peaceful and calm. During busy hours, don't hope for a seat and the line itself extends to the entrance. Got a BOGO coupon that expires April 22. Went to redeem on April 22 and the lady at the cash said "yesterday" I showed her the text and coupon that said expires April 22.. and she repeated "yesterday." I mentioned to her that today is the 22nd. And she just walked away from the cash letting out a huge sigh. She didn't speak to anyone else.. so I approached someone else behind the counter who tried to explain to me there was a glitch in the system and they will not honour the coupon. It just opened a few weeks ago and I came here a couple of times but there really isn't anything too special. Just normal bubble tea :$ I like how there are some seats for you to sit on tho! :) I tried a couple of their drinks and they were good but not mindbowingly delicious. Still love my Chatime roasted milk tea~ Price is basically the same as every other bbt shop so nothing much on that. However, one thing that could be improved on is their speed. I know they just opened and they're still probably training new staff and organizing their things, but it took over 15 mins for two drinks! :$ Hopefully, they will be more efficient when they settle down since there were quite a few people waiting for their drinks. Chain originated from China and I expected higher quality due to the higher prices (compared to China) but it utterly failed. I've had their original milk tea with tapioca and their lemon drinks. I commend the fact that they do put a full lemon in the drink but all you can taste is the syrup and sugar. Prices are similar to Chatime but lower quality. If you had Coco in China then you will be disappointed here. read more
