Edit: Up to 4 stars because they ended up offering to repair it for free and reached out to the shoe store on my behalf. I really appreciate their quick response there! The shoe is now being repaired and will be returned to me in 2 weeks! Don't waste your time with these shoes, unless you want to pay to repair them after wearing them once. I bought a pair of the Holmes Flat Shoe for $360, wore them once, and already the inside liner is coming up. When I take my foot out of the shoe, the leather inside liner rolls back and comes up. When I reached out to the store directly to ask if they could do anything, they told me to take it to a local shoe repair shop. They had no interest in making it right. It's disappointing that this brand wants to sell shoes for over $300 but won't guarantee that they'll hold together! read more

I bought a pair of boots with a holiday promotion the website emailed me and when I received my "new" boots they were stained with black spots all over the right boot's front. When I emailed them about the issue, first I was told to use a brush to clean/try to brush out the spots. Then when I emailed customer service again to let them know this recommendation turned the dots into a smeared stain on the suede, I got no further response at all. This was the fourth Coclico pair I bought over the last year. And this ruined $350 pair -with the coupon--will definitely be my last. read more

I have a pair of their shoes I bought from Amour Vert that I love -- so comfortable. However, the store attendant couldn't be more rude and dismissive -- to the extent it felt personal. I asked for her a shoe in two sizes and she didn't make eye contact, said dismissively "she didn't know." When I followed up if they were available she laughed mockingly and said, "you didn't say which shoe" (the truth was, she didn't look up when I politely asked, and then never bothered to look up the availability of the shoe), and then laughed in the fakest way possible and said "I thought you heard me, they're sold out." I don't know what her deal was? She was much more accommodating/seemed to be able to act like a normal human being with two much older white women. They could improve on their boxes and providing dust bags, at the price point, I expect a bit more. I've owned several pairs of shoes from them, like 8-10 pairs. The fit of their shoes tend to be on the narrower side. Their shoes don't hold up so well. Even wearing them consistently or on and off, I see the bottom of the shoe split apart slightly. I've purchased their heels, wedges and boots from them over the years. The style of their shoes is more on the trendy side, as opposed to a comfortable style. I've noticed from my own collection that their shoes don't hold up as well; this is coming from someone who wears her Coclicos often. Nonetheless, their leather is soft and I prefer their spring/summer open-toed styles for my wide feet. If you choose a slightly lower heel, their shoes would be more comfortable for city walking, as opposed to attempting to walk in 3" heeled boots for a couple of blocks. I'd say slightly overpriced. I'm paying up to $400-$500 on their shoes and on one of their heels, the bottom has completely split. I mean the outside leather bottom has split from the inner structure! I barely wore those heels, only a couple of times! Buyer beware! Their sales are great. read more

I wore these shoes a handful of times. Each time they looked surprisingly more worn out than they should have considering the short use. I expected them not to last long, particularly as there seemed to be a little bit of a gap developing on the outside of the sole. About the only thing that I could afford at Coclico was their bicycle bell but that doesn't stop me from knowing good design when I see it and it didn't stop me from stalking the store several early mornings. I'm certain I looked like the Dickensian urchin I often do while traveling and peering through their windows, but when I did dare to go in knowing the kind of envy I'd leave with, the woman behind the counter extended a truly warm welcome and in no way made me feel as though I were being profiled while in there. I can't tell you how many times staff in boutiques waste their time trying to figure out if I can buy anything rather than spend their time showing me what's so great about their store so that I remember why I should come back. What's great about Coclico is the quality. The shoes are tasteful and detailed without being precious and have that European feel of never souring but without the dowdy presence so often associated with long-lasting style. You want to actually wear these shoes beyond their pristine condition, because they'll only get better. In the back they also have two racks of tastefully designed but trendier clothing with quirky but not cutesy-quirky cuts. I particularly love the quality of their jackets, with their unusual straps and askew zippers. Their prices are on the high end, but you get what you pay for and you will never buy the "wrong" shoe here. I hope that the recent addition of some limited-edition Coclico footwear to the Anthropologie chain will spark more interest in them so that they open a shop here in Chicago. read more

Holy crap do I have a love affair with this store. Not only do they carry the best shoes ever, they are also carrying a pretty solid new addition of clothing. I bought a miraculous shirt there just a few days ago. It's silk, it's purple, it's fucking hot. So Chie Mihara is one of my favorite cobblers of today and they have loads of her shoes, rotating quite frequently to boot. I love my Coclico shoes!!! My only complaints are that they really should have rubber soles, and moreover, sometimes their 'wooden' heels actually are plastic with a wooden overlay (a big no no, given they are saying they have eco-friendly practices AND wooden heels....). Also, if you are local to NYC watch out for their sample sales (typically in January and in the summer)..they post about them on Instagram and you can often get on their mailing list. Returned to the store within a month to express dissatisfaction with my purchase. Manager offered to send my shoes to their cobbler to attempt stretching. 5 months, countless attempts to call for status checks & several visits to the shop later, I'm told all those other managers promises were invalid... $50 store credit offered as recompense. I'm sorry to say that I did buy a pair of booties and they gave me horrific blisters. I have massive buyers remorse and don't see myself trying this brand again. The first time I wore them I did a few quick errands. By the time I got home, I was limping in pain. Both big toes had been massacred by the shoes. It was so bad I stayed in that night to soak my feet and recover. After my feet healed, I applied moleskin to the shoe where it rubbed before. I just wore them for 15 minutes as I walked to the drugstore two blocks away. My left toe and right heel are already blistering. I couldn't wait to take them off when I got home. I not sure what I'm going to do now. These were insanely expensive but obviously a shoe that I can't wear for 15 minutes without pain is not functional. FYI the booties in question have a 1 inch heel. They should be wearable. read more

I love the look and found them to be comfortable, but noticed they creaked when I walked and eventually realized the heels were loose. When I contacted them they said they would pay for shoe repair...for the price I just hoped they would last a long time, I have to admit I had 2 pairs of cole haan sandals for more than 10 years. I did try wearing them one more time and the heel completely fell off. I will try to find a local shoesmith, but can't in good faith spend this much on shoes from this company again. read more

You'd never think that a shoe boutique would carry such beautifully tailored clothes but Coclico does it in Nolita! Two very short racks of clothes was enough to keep me occupied and even walked out with a beautiful dress that was on sale for third of it's original price. The ladies are so super sweet and the shoes and bags are amazing. So it's totally worth a trip just for the shoes. But the clothes might surprise you. But you have to try them on. If you're looking at it on the rack and you don't want to barf, just try it on. Unlike H&M and Banana, the stuff is cut to look way better on a woman's body than on a hanger. I have struggled for years to find heels that I can wear. I have a fear of heights - anything above three inches causes my knees to collapse and my hips to move in a way that resembles a rhinoceros rather than the horse prance favoured on the catwalk. Thanks to YELP I discovered the Coclico Retail Store (I love stores and rarely shop on line). The young women working in the store know shoes, understand feet and are very good at their job. With their able assistance I bought two pairs of their fabulous Coclico cork wedges and now, hopefully, for the first time in years I will be able to wear something other than clogs, boots and flats. Unfortunately for my wallet I also bought a beautiful cashmere and silk scarf which I know I will wear for ever And ever. For women with beautiful legs, ankles and feet, this is a store that will only make you look more fabulous. Shoes are comfortable and reasonably cute. HOWEVER, I will never return to this store. I consider myself a good customer having bought about 6 pairs of shoes there in the last six months. I recently went in to make an exchange and was completely ignored by the sales clerk. She just left me sitting there while she helped each new customer walking into the store. I can only assume they staff works on commission and an exchange was not worth her time. I politely asked her when she would be ready to ring up my order and she screamed at me!! I have never experienced anything like that before. When I spoke with the manager on a subsequent visit, she was less than helpful, to say the least. I got a great pair of Coclico wedge espadrilles before last summer (on sale). I wore them on and off- maybe a total of 15 outings?. They were comfy and pretty. I went to wear them today to work, and by the time I stepped inside all of the roping on one of the shoes was falling off. Seriously? $350 (thank goodness I paid $150!) espadrilles and they fall apart? My Aerosoles last longer for $40. read more

I bought a pair of wedge booties from the Coclico brand for 40% off the original retail of $385 in September. I wore the shoes occasionally for about a month and I know that New York sidewalks are hard on shoes, but after only a month, the shoes showed seriously the worst wear-and-tear that I'd ever seen in a new pair of expensive shoes. The sole had entirely eroded and the bottom of the hidden wedge was showing. The pointed tips of the shoes had entirely worn down and it looked like there might be a hole in the right one. I have shoes from other brands in the $200 and $400 price range, and they are much better quality than these. Since they do have a very cute assortment, it may be worth it to buy these for 80% off, but you should not be paying full price for Coclico shoes unless you plan on buying a new pair every month, or unless you plan on spending money at a cobbler to fix these after a month of wear. Even a couple months later, I'm disappointed in how this purchase turned out. read more
