Beautiful selections for cookware! Very nice and welcoming store. Would recommend everyone to come!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff ! If there is anything cookware related -You will more than likely find it here. A true hidden gem. So many wonderful high end products -to include fiestaware and Le Creuset. A great variety of local goods! Must try Belle Toffee!

This is a great place to get a gift for someone. Really enjoyed the different buildings. Took a few pictures of the "baking building" that says Morton out front. Bought about 7 different items today. So much to choose from. Main building has a little bit of everything There's also the baking building Christmas building (not sure what it is other times of the year) A building that I'd compare to a boutique Last building is totally random stuff If you need a last minute gift you are sure to find it because it's packed with so many random things and I love it.

Funny thing happened about 115 years ago. There was this family in a small farming village called Cockrell, and they started a convenience store for the self-sufficient community. Through civil wars, changes in ownership, and highway building, this place remains, it's some of the best kitchen/housewares shopping you can find, rivaling even Pryde's of Westport (who were previous owners until around 2006, see http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/1999/09/27/newscolumn3.html). What you really have here is a group of houses from a town long-gone (read all about it here: http://cockrellmercantile.com/ht_docs/Cockrell.html), that have been reconditioned for shopping of all sorts. I hear couples register here for their wedding and stuff. Anyhow, if it's in your kitchen, and you _can't_ find it here, you must live in a one-room house. I mean it is like a frankensteinian Williams-Sonoma/Bed Bath and Beyond/Olde-tyme-village-place. The prices are not outrageous, but they do sell some well-to-do cookware. Also, if you are inquisitive, you might find the old original scale used by the first grocery store. It still works. But if anyone can figure out the measurements they use (besides the ounces markings), please let me know. It's keeping me up at night. In nice weather I guess you can lounge around outside and walk around the place, like you're back on the old homestead, reliving days gone by. Take an afternoon and leave your watch in the car; it is a nice venue for re-remembering how things might have been.

TRIPLE DIPPED dark chocolate malted milk balls. These are so good! We also bought milk chocolate and butter mints (had a sweet tooth.)

Having lived in Berkeley, my husband I are obsessed with Sharffen Berger chocolate, which is difficult to find out here. Well, the Pot Rack has it--semisweet, bittersweet, unsweetened, and cocoa powder. They also carry Nielssen-Massey vanilla products, Republic of Tea products, and other excellent food stuffs. Additionally, The Pot a Rack carries cookware, bakeware, cooking utensils, cutlery, and many other cooking related items. Customer service is top-notch. Once I called the place and when no one answered I just hung up. No more than 2 minutes later someone called back, profusely apologizing for missing my call. Once I made it to the store, I was offered a cup of coffee or tea to drink while I browsed. And even though I've always dragged at least one of my kids into the store--which I could see as terrifying for a person who owns or works at a store with plenty of things that could break or hurt a kid--we feel welcomed here. Cute place, lots of excellent food products and cooking supplies, great customer service--The Pot a Rack is not just a gem in Leavenworth but in the whole Kansas City area.

They offer complimentary tea/coffee which really encourages you to try something new. This is great for hostess gifts, birthday gifts or for someone who has it all. Talk with them, let them know what you need and they are great with suggestions. This is the kind of shop that makes shopping fun and a huge asset for downtown Leavenworth. Park in front or at Haymarket Square and pop in whenever in the area. They always have something new. This is THE place to go to for tea, sauces or just something to get out of the normal cooking rut.

Every piece they have is quite unique and fits your everyday needs. All the designs are simple, sleek, and in neutral shades, and that's something I truly adore!!! The staff is not very welcoming sometimes..at least that's how I felt but they are usually friendly and polite. Tip - If you're looking to buy a coffee machine, they do offer coffee samples for some machines like Jura or Nespresso. The ground floor has kitchen pots and pans, appliances, cutlery, and dinnerware, while the upstairs floor is more focused on furniture shopping. I have visited this store numerous times and gotten gifts for a lot of friends as well - each one of my friends said that they are of good quality and are long lasting. I'm sure you will enjoy visiting this beautiful, elegant store. 5/5 rating!

The kitchen pieces and furniture are all wonderful looking but customer service was one of the worst. They gave me plates and bowls that I took home and checked the quality after, which half were defective with nicks and bad finish to where you can see the base material. Their policy was that once the sticker is taken off, they can't do anything about it. But instead of being sorry or offering an alternative solution, they just laughed it off and left. Trash. Other than that, the only reason I saved it at 2 stars was the curbside pick up. The gentlemen was really kind and helpful, much better than the rude manager of the store. Price wise, the dinnerware are pretty affordable and decent.

The prices are not low but they do have sales and the staff is so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, it's like part of the cost is their expertise. I visited on a Monday morning, a seemingly dead hour in the River Market - but surprisingly not. Index was packed with every kind of everything, from supplies to people. I know there has got to be an Asian restaurant opening up sometime soon because the crowds were predominately Asian and their hands were full of items to be purchased. The first thing I noticed was their red tagged sale items placed indiscreetly in the front window - which I thought was a nice touch for visitors to allow them to know exactly where the lower-priced items are at the start of their shopping trip instead of having to stumble upon it somewhere in the back if it catches their eye. I was immediately greeted by a storefront manager who wrapped me into a conversation about the high school I attended (because of the sweatshirt I was wearing) and now, looking back, I can see it was a very shrewd move on his part. We talked for some time about it and finally he slipped out to get me their new catalogue. Index ships all over the United States, but it only delivers in a 100-miles radius from the store. I'm not surprised it sells Nationwide however, because everything was topnotch, everything was accounted for - things I would have never even thought of were provided in the best forms possible: stainless steel appliances being the key component here. EVERYTHING was stainless steel, a very professional and sleek look on everything! And while I know restaurant owners come here to stock up on what they need for their kitchen - I don't know for sure if individual people come here who simply like to cook, because they should! Index should market themselves alongside other kitchen supply stores for people who want quality individual items. Sears stocks too much crap with the good - it's inconsistent and the staff is not expertly trained on the matter (they're usually gradmother-types coming out of retirement). Williams Sonoma shoppers would love this store - because it provides for every culinary experience there is in existence. Seriously, here are some of the crazy amazing appliances and supplies I found: 1. Cut-Resistant Gloves 2. Frozen-dessert mixers 3. Iron french fry conical baskets 4. drawer warmers for bread and chips 5. pizza dispensing cabinets 6. infrared food warmers, 7. kettles 8. fast food trays 9. little bow ties And these were the random items right alongside hundreds of pots and pans of every size and food need and aprons of every color, whisks of every design - I suggest at least looking through their catalogue they'll ship to you for free: (index@sbcglobal.net). I might not own a restaurant, but I cook and if I ever had my dream kitchen - I would go straight to the source to supply it right - forgo the Sears kitchen retailer's of this world - what do they know?! Index knows, it is their WORLD - they had rows of desks for their staff, all empty because they were busy helping out clients like me, curious or serious about owning a well-stocked kitchen.

It says open to the public, but I felt very unwelcome in there. Someone just sat at a desk in the…read moreback and never said a word to me and I couldn't find the price on anything. I won't be going back.
