Best tacos in downtown RVA. Went with my wife and the ambience and people are awesome.

It is a counter service restaurant with a unique vibe. There is a big bar, dining room, and they have a nice sized outdoor patio too. The ambiance is lively with music and diner style tables. In my opinion it is a little pricey for a walk up and order restaurant, but the food is absolutely worth it! We tried the birria quesadilla, carnitas tacos, and elote. All were the best I've had in Richmond, and this is our new go to Mexican spot. read more

Good tacos. Bad elote. Good drinks. I was very disappointed in the elote here. I don't know if they were just having an off day but the corn itself was cold and mushy and tasted old. The tacos however were very good with lots of meat and were the redeeming factor. The agua frescas are also great. I will probably come back and just not order the elote. read more

Finally Scotts has a good Mexican food restaurant! This place has been putting out delicious food since it opened. I would get the cochiloco taco here every day if I could. I've also liked their quesadillas. They have a salsa station where you can dole out as much of the different salsas as you want. The staff are very nice and helpful. The bar is busy, but they get to you quickly. They have a nice outdoor space as well. Truly has become one of my favorites in Scott's Addition. read more

I had been stalking their Instagram page for an opening and couldn't wait to try them! When we walked in we were greeted by warm friendly faces ready to take our orders. It's very open and spacious with lots of orange, red and yellow colors. They had a good Spanish playlist going in the background. They don't have table service and you order at the counter. I legit wanted to try one of everything lol but settled on the beef quesabirria tacos, shrimp quesadillas and a frozen margarita with a Tajín rim. They give you a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready for pick up. We sat outside on their spacious patio since it was a beautiful day in RVA. They have a pick up window they slide open and hand your food to you so you don't have to go back inside to pick up. Our food looked and smelled amazing! It was piping hot just like I like it. Everything was delicious but the shrimp quesadilla was the real delicious star of our meal. I love it here! Great friendly service, tasty margaritas and delicious food! I was in Mexico City in May, and never did I think I would find tacos as good as those in VA. We walked in and it looked exactly like the taquerias in CDMX (specifically taqueria Orinoco). The tacos were juicy, flavorful, and loaded. The agua de jamaica was a perfect sweetness, and the elote was mouth-watering. The salsas were so good and being able to grab and go as we needed was even better. The music matched the vibe. Super authentic spot. As a Mexicana, I 100% recommend. read more

EPIC! Hands down this is the best Mexican restaurant in the city! The Carne Asada flour taco was juicy and filled with the best toppings! The flour taco was soft and pliable! So mid it's not even funny. I fell for the vibey look of the place on their Insta. We moved here from San Diego so our bar is high, but this was kinda gross, even by East Coast standards. The potato tacos tasted like straight oil, everything was bland. Husband's quesadilla was somehow burnt, soggy and had like some kind of onion consommé in it? The food was so heavy and greasy, we ended up throwing most of it out. Hard pass. read more

The birria tacos I've gotten a few times.... Not the best in RVA. The horchata is not really good with a minty flavor. The best item is the quesadillas and elote (they should put takis dust). I tried the carnitas tacos and the carne asada tacos. The steak was tough. The pork was greasy. Both were bland. You can't mix and match your taco sets. The acoustics in the indoor dining area were terrible. The tables were sticky and I didn't notice any staff cleaning up after people left. The surface area on the high top seating is too narrow. The self-serve water tap serves warm water to drink and there is no ice. I cannot imagine ever coming back to this restaurant. read more

I knew from the moment we walked in and smelled the place that we were in for a treat. I ordered the gringa quesadilla and my boyfriend got carne asada tacos. Both were amazing!!! I got the house frozen margarita and it was delish. They have a self service salsa bar area and all the salsas were so good. We loved them so much that we got back in line to order chips just so we could eat more salsa. Employees were friendly, and we enjoyed the fast casual vibes and the fun ambiance. We will definitely be back because we can't wait to try more of the food and cocktail menu. read more

Meh! This place is def overhyped. It's new and trendy; people tend to like trendy. However, the food and drinks, both missed the mark for me. Chicken tacos had no flavor but enough lettuce to be considered a salad. Steak tacos came with an abundance of beans on top that my niece removed and said were disgusting. I have a cilantro allergy that can be difficult to navigate at mexican restaurants and the cashier made sure to avoid foods with cilantro. The ambiance is very cool with white and red decor all over, indoor seating and outdoor seating, and a bar that's accessible from both areas.
