Thank you so much, Bailey and Christopher! From the very beginning, you both made me feel comfortable and never gave up on helping me get approved. You took the time to answer all my questions, worked hard to find a lender, and made what I thought would be a stressful process so much easier. I'm beyond thankful to be driving home in my new Honda Civic. I truly appreciate all of your patience, honesty, and dedication. If you're looking for a dealership that genuinely cares about their customers, I definitely recommend Coastal Chevrolet Santa Barbara and working with Bailey and Christopher. 47 days after my trade-in, and my trade-in loan is still not paid off. Now I have 2 months with 2 car payments. Completely illegal in California, as state law requires trade-ins to be paid off within 21 days MAX! Nobody is giving me any answers or sending me my sales contract, so I'm looking into legal options at this point since they lack the professionalism to fix their mistake that I literally have to pay for. For anyone else to be in a similar predicament, file a formal DMV complaint and a claim with their surety bond: Merchants Bonding Company Mutual, Bond #100249073 read more

I've had multiple disappointing experiences with this service department. A few months ago, I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. After waiting for about two hours, I asked about my car, only to find out that it hadn't even been brought in for service. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same poor communication again today. I scheduled a service appointment for 9:30 AM, and it's now almost 3:00 PM--nearly five hours later. My service advisor, Jorge, still doesn't seem to know whether my car has been worked on or what the status of the service is. After waiting all this time, I don't even know if my car is going to be fixed today. This level of communication and customer service is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Based on my experiences, I honestly cannot recommend this place to anyone. Customers should not have to spend hours waiting just to get basic information about their vehicle. read more

I spent weeks accompanying my friend on his new car search. We went to at least a dozen dealerships, and when I tell you I have never in my life experienced this level of professionalism and genuine care from a dealership, I mean it. Abel Lorca, the salesman, went above and beyond in ways you'd never expect. My friend is very... discerning... and was nervous about buying his first EV. He also needed to make sure the car would fit in his parking spot way across town, so Abel took him on multiple test drives, explained every detail, and even drove out to the parking spot with him just to confirm it would fit. Abel is just a good person, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly cares about doing right by people. (And let me take my FaceTime call from my brother in the Corvette, that was worth 5 stars right there) My friend took several days mulling it over, and every single day this team showed BEYOND exceptional care. Sam Bitar, the general manager, has the patience and kindness of a saint. He helped us with countless questions and bent over backwards to make my friend comfortable, all without a hint of "used car salesman energy." Chris Kehr, another salesman there, was wonderful, too. Chris is friendly, also knowledgeable, and genuinely wants to get you into the right car (And might give you some surfing advice if you're lucky). You can tell everyone who works here genuinely likes each other, there's no weird competitive energy at all, just a warm environment where everyone's just trying to help! My friend had more questions about the EV, so the service department took time out of their day to put the car on the lift and answer every single one. I've never seen a service department go that far for a prospective customer. There was one small thing he wanted fixed on the car, and once again, a real theme at this dealership, they went above and beyond to take care of it. Johnny, Noel, and the rest of the service team are just lovely people. I can't speak to the other reviews on here, but our experience felt worlds apart from what these other reviews describe. It's hard to believe they are talking about the same people/ dealership. (Alternate universe, maybe?) Because of their customer service alone, I am committed to buying my next car here. They're already keeping an eye out for my future Camaro. Thank you!! read more

A 40k routine service for my Chevy Volt, which typically costs $250. Was charged $3800 at this house of thieves. No new parts other than emergency break pads. All they did was replace filters and fluids. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Just got charged $236.50 for an oil change. Had a GMC Coupon, and they said it was not valid. Fire Sam Bitar and send him back and fire Chris Kehr!!!!! I looked at a car on Saturday but their service department needed to repair something and Sam the General Manager told me he will have it fixed Monday morning and shook my hand and said I can go back Monday to make the purchase. I had an appointment today at noon but my other thing I was doing ran over so I messaged Chris and told him I'll go at 6pm to buy the car. He said he would put the car aside for me. Prior to 6pm, I was on my way to the dealership from Ventura when Chris called me to say he sold the car. That's right, prior to my agreed upon appt they sold the car and my daughter whom I was buying the car for was very upset. Sam gave me his word he would have the car ready for me and Chris told me he will make sure the car is on hold for me. I didn't realize they have a 1 1/2 star rating on yelp until I sat down to write this. I will never buy from this dealership and would suggest people stay away as well. There is so much better out there and better humans to associate with and do business with. Shame on you Sam Bitar and Christopher Kehr for treating people this way. This type of business behavior is why people who care about the way they are dealt with won't cone to you. And a message to Frank Figueredo, President...you have employees mistreating customers and I will tell everyone in all of my circles about your business culture and I will not forget Christopher's name and Sam's name. Two very despicable humans who must think for it to be acceptable to be so underhanded. I'd give zero stars if I could but just know that everyone should beware of this one and a half star rated dealership. Santa Barabara deserves better! read more

I can not begin to explain how horrible the service center is. I have an older Chevy Silverado 2500 that the tie rods on one side snapped. My personal mechanic told me to take it to the dealer because they were the only ones who could get the needed parts and he is 120 miles away. I should have known better and just paid to have it towed the 120 miles!! Once my truck was taken in, I wasn't given the name of my service manager, I was told I would get a call to go over what was needed. After hearing nothing for a week, I started to call. I was finally told that my service manager was Kevin and he would call me back. 2 days later I received a call and was told what was needed to be replaced, we agreed on a price and I was told it would take a few days. After a few days I did actually receive a call telling me that the needed part was on back order and it was going to take a few more days. Great, its now been over 12 days, I called multiple times a day and asked for Kevin by name, I was generally sent to a voice mail for somebody else, and did not receive any call backs. Finally, last Friday I called and stayed on hold for over an hour because I refused to wait for a call back, because I hadn't gotten one in a few days. after an hour, I finally just had to hang up. Finally i received a call back saying that they found a problem in one of my brake lines. They said they would get it fixed by Monday. Well, today is Monday, after not hearing from them, and several text messages to Kevin and a call to his cell phone with no response, I finally got somebody from the service center to answer. I was then put on hold for another 20 minutes, before somebody got on the line, and then told me my truck was not drivable because it wasn't finished. When I asked why, he told me "i don't know, I was just told its not drivable". At this point in time I asked to speak with the general manager and was told I would be given a call back. They still have my truck, I do not have a formal quote, I have been told what the parts cost, I am scared about what the labor will be, and at this point in time I may call a tow truck to go get it and tow it to Oxnard instead. Stay as far away from this dealership as possible!!!! read more

Beware. I am updating my previous five star review because the experience has taken a very upsetting turn. Coastal has still not paid off my trade in, and it has now been a month. I am being held responsible for payments on a vehicle I no longer own. I have called every single day for over a week, sometimes multiple times a day, and I cannot get a single person to return a call. I am transferred around, placed on hold, and told the finance manager is unavailable, and yet no one ever follows up. Because of their inaction, my credit is now at risk and I am left making payments for a car that is no longer mine. I am incredibly disappointed. What started as a great experience has turned into one of the most frustrating and stressful situations I have dealt with at a dealership. read more

Changed my review from 5 stars to 1 due to the fact I am owed a check for $2206 now for 19 days after I was told I would get it. I understand that getting the check 2 days after my purchase is not realistic even though that is what I was told, but since then I have been given the run around by every single person in finance, told I would be called back, told I would have the check in a few days, basically anything but an honest answer. Not a single person has reached out to me. The only way I have any comms is by calling multiple times a day until someone actually answers the phone. I live an hour away or I would just show up every morning. There are only two explanations; they are incompetent and do not know their job, or they have no problems lying to customers to make a sale. read more

One of the sales people there genuinely seems like a good person. The rest are full crooks. Sold me a new car that was not new and had been in an accident. The door had been replaced and I took to them the next day when I noticed. They however acted like they had no idea. Took it to get fixed it's still not fixed right. I went in to turn in my 2021 lease to bunnin. It was not Bunnin and had changed hands. I was told my lease fees would be 10,000 for miles even though I had the insurance for over mileage. I was told they had no new leases and I could wait on one but would be paying a much higher payment. I have little kids and needed a car, ended up waAAAAAAAAYYYYYY OVER PAYING AND HOT SCAMMED WITH A CAR THAT HAD BEEN CRASHED. Despite being advertised and me paying for rubber mats they were not in the car when I picked it up. I was given an auto detailing also a years worth of maintenance after bringing all of this to their attention. I went in to get the car detailed and they were having computer problems. I contacted the one sales guy who'd been the most helpful about all of the short givings. He had me bring my car in right then for the detail. I took the car in. The finance guy who full scammed me had the audacity to come out to say hi. Then said he needed my id. I give it to him and say I have to leave. I later learned that was a lie and just wanted me to go to his office. Full creepy. I pick up my car a few hours later the maintenance guy says my keys are in the car. I ask about my Id and say that guy took it. He said oh yeah I saw that it's in the car too. It was in the car with Creepo's business card attached with a high light on his cell number. Like I'd date someone who scammed me? Or maybe trying to sell me more crap. I don't think so tho it was giving full creep vibes. Scammed out of money and sexually harassed all at one place it's a hard pass on this place!!! Steer clear ladies! read more

This business shouldn't exist period! I purchased a vehicle 6 months ago and it came with no floor mats. I've called a dozen times and promised they'd send a PO to my local Chevy Dealer close to me. Never happened, called again was told the person who told you that no longer works there! Escalate to another person and states will get this taken care of and let you know when they're in. April 7th get a text stating your parts are ready for pick up. Drive all the way to SB and was told the mats are on back order and we can ship them to your house. Why couldn't they take the mats from a vehicle in the sales lot after me driving all the way out there?! It is now June I make another call, and I'm told we don't ship parts to customers and find out they were never ordered to begin with! They don't care about their customers! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! I will never do business with them ever! read more

I couldn't trust them to even call me back, much less repair my car. Service team was terrible. They had my car for a week while I called them every day and couldn't get a hold of anyone to give me the car back. This is a horrible dealership. The customer service is horrible. They are unprofessional. The car salesmen will screw you to the max. I used to drive 45 mins to get services here because they had great customer service . The last few times were such an inconvenience . It started when I needed an oil change last year . I show up and they say they don't have the parts and I needed to come back . I had to ask for the day off to go so I told them I would just go to one closer to me . A few months later I started having key issue and thought I'd give them a shot again . They did a diagnostic I made a partial payment for the part. I took the car in but was still having issues so I had to bring it a third time they said it was possible they got a bad part, I Never got a call back when they received the part. I called 3 weeks later and got scheduled and the day before I called to make sure they have the part and boom they said no and cancelled I tried to reschedule the girl told me no they'll call once they get the part. Here I am a month later still waiting. Still having key issues and out $90 because I pre paid the part because the guy said I had to in order for them to order it . I was willing to drive more and pay more due to the service I used to get here but it's just not worth it anymore . read more

Today was my 4th and hopefully final visit to Coastal Chevrolet. The 1st time I went to buy a Silverado EV which they had zero of. The 2nd time I picked up a ladder rack which hardware was missing. No apologies. They did order replacement parts 3rd time I ordered a SET of hub covers and there was only 1 upon pick up. Then when I call a few days later to check on the status I'm told they are backordered. The super professional guy who answered the phone made sure to let me know it was my mistake though so it was all cleared up. He even imitated what he thought my voice sounded like which apparently is the highest form of flattery. So thanks. My 4th and final visit i came to get a refund for the (1) hub cover and the (3) others which needed to placed in a separate order in which I was told they didn't have any cash. They called themselves a "cashless" dealership yet accepted cash from me for the parts on backorder. Additionally why not check if an item is in stock before taking someone's money and then NOT calling to inform them it may take a while...an indeterminable amount of time to receive said item. Many people need things done on a timeline. My time and energy was NOT respected at the parts department. To top it all off I have to wait 3-4 weeks for a refund check from Florida If we treated people this way in my line of work we wouldn't have work. read more

Made the mistake of returning my suv for scheduled maintenance. I had a coupon. I signed up online for an oil change with tire rotation. Presented my coupon, and was told everything was good. Waited over 2 hours. Went to pay and asked to know what all was done. Oil & filter changed, fluids checked and filled, brake pads checked. Asked about tire rotation - not done. He said the coupon was for just the oil change. Not what I signed up for. He said they could do the rotation, for additional charge, and another hour wait. No one explained the coupon downgraded my appointment. I was fully expecting what I signed up for. Of course the manager "just left for lunch" I paid, was told my car was in the customer lot. Where? He started walking out towards the lot. I hit the alarm and found my car. He led me to the car, like I couldn't find it with the alarm going off. Turns out they forget to remove the plastic seat cover, paper floor mat, and mirror tag.. I had to go back in to get the inspection sheet. Manager called and had to convince him to rotate the tires. Had them che l a hard to move shifter, and now it won't recognize it's in park. Can't shut off the car. Won't call me back. Car is in worse shape now than wh Men I went in! read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service in the service department. For the second time in a row, we made an appointment online only to arrive and be told they didn't have us down for service, despite the written/text confirmations we had. Service then took ALL DAY. Eight hours for an oil change, tire rotation, and entertainment center software update. Unresponsive to calls to check on the status of the vehicle and when we finally reached someone we were told it would be ready at 4:30. At 5pm we were still waiting. The cashier was another story. She was TERRIBLE. She was rude, unhelpful, and dismissive when asked questions. She truly hates her job and it shows. We will drive to Ventura or Buellton, or LA for that matter, from here on out. Had a terrible experience with service dept. Got my truck towed in on Thursday, was told it was slated for Friday, however wasn't touched until the following Thursday. UNBELIEVABLE experience from the first moment!! I called Coastal Chevrolet to look into trading in my 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid on the way in to help my friend in his cigar shop. Marco hooked me up with the salesman Chris who busted his butt all afternoon to get me the deal I needed - I think he bruised Billy the Sales Manager (who is also a really great guy). Not only did he get me the deal I needed, after the wonderful Jennifer in the Finance Department got all my documents sent over for E-sign, he delivered to car to the cigar shop and picked up my trade in. Car dealerships and car salesmen have always had a bad rap for being pushy, slick and even sometimes telling lies to make a sale. Yeah, that is NOT going to happen at Costal Chevrolet. I cannot believe how not only easy but PLEASANT the entire process was. I'm now driving the incredible 2024 Equinox and I find myself smiling like kid in a candy store every time I get into this car!!! If you want a fair deal on a great car, you NEED to go to Coastal Chevrolet, talk to Billy the Sales Manager and he'll hook you up with a great salesperson - and tell him David sent you :-) read more

I can't begin to tell you how pissed off I am with the parts dept. especially Eddie, I called last week regarding a key fob for my 2003 Grand Am, Eddie found me one from another dealer and the cost would be $175.47 I found that high but ordered it I had to pay in advance and it would take a week to come in. I asked if that included programming it and was told yes, so after I hung up I called around and found a locksmith in Ventura that had it in and would do it all for $95.00, but when I called Eddie back I was told I could not cancel it because he already ordered it, so I was not happy with that to start, so I waited the week for it to get it, well the day I was going to drive up from Sherman Oaks to get it, I received a phone call from Eddie telling me it will be an additional $125.00 to program it!!!! To say I was pissed is an understatement, but crazy they said they would refund my credit card the full amount.... Which I had them do and now I am at Ventura locksmith waiting on my new fob $95.00 out the door. So I wasted a week waiting on Coastal Chevrolet thanks Eddie!!! read more

I am appalled at how they operate at this dealership. Me and my fiance had an appointment with a salesman today (Pedro) to see a car that was set the day before. We drove from Victorville to Santa Barbara to the dealership only to find out that some people who were walk-ins looked at the car before we got there and were making a deal on the car. I spoke to the manager about the situation and he replied that he would see what he could do, but he never came back to us with an answer. Needless to say, we drove 200+ miles for nothing because the walk-ins got the car and we got screwed! The give zero priority to people who make appointments. Believe all the other reviews. The service department here is SHADY!!!! I got nothing but a bunch of run arounds & stories while my car sat there for a week & a half. I bought my car there. I was counting on them to fix it when the sensor said the timing belt needed to be changed. Still stumped why they assured me they could & would do it but instead found reasons they couldn't, promised estimates for those reasons (water pump & oil leak - never any evidence of that) but then didn't deliver those estimates. This whole thing was very disappointing & confusing. Dan was the one I dealt with. Very unprofessional & unwilling to communicate or help. Our sales person Pedro H. was very patient with us (along with other salespersons on staff including his manager Marco) - it took a few visits - we were deciding between a new Chevrolet Equinox EV or a used but very good condition Toyota Prius. Our current Prius has over 220000 miles on it - the vehicle is built to be extremely reliable, but at 220000 miles, we decided that if something major went wrong, we probably would want to replace the car. That said, we went back and forth - our other car is a Nissan Leaf that we have owned for 5 years. Still, giving up any kind of gasoline power was going to be a bold move. After all, in my early musical training, I learned "All Cars Eat Gas" when learning the bass clef. That's just it: All cars eat gas - except when they don't. Now we are full electric with our Chevy Equinox EV. With an over 300 mile range, it is as good as having a gasoline powered vehicle. You can read the reviews and decide for yourself. In the sales process, being low-key was great. I asked about different parts of the deal, and I really felt like they let me call the shots. The fact that Pedro is also the owner of an Equinox EV also made a difference. He could tell us stories (we got into a Toyota Prius 20 years ago just because the salesperson told us about his vehicle with 300,000 miles on it - salespersons listen up! Nothing sells like you using it yourself). There is the final element of every sales transaction, and that's the trip to the finance office. Now I have walked out of more finance offices than you could imagine! I mean, running shoes are good to wear to an auto dealer. In this case, I didn't need running shoes, and comfortable old sneakers sufficed. That's because Miguel, our finance person, presented all the options to us, but he did not give us a hard sell. We were out of there in record time! I can hardly believe it! If you want a dealer that will give you the space to take your time, go with Coastal Chevrolet. One more thing: When my wife and I met in 1999, she had a Chevrolet Lumina sedan and she absolutely loved that car! She is most appreciative of the fact that we bought a brand new Chevrolet! She said that was sweet (maybe that's why our nearly 25 year old marriage works so well). Thank you Chevrolet for adding a blissful moment to our marriage! Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet - remember that jingle? PS: My wife makes a wonderful prize winning apple pie! ...but neither of us plays baseball. read more

Avoid this nightmare. Under previous ownership I bought multiple cars here and had them serviced. Since new ownership I stopped taking our Suburban there after getting totally crazy estimate for a regular service. Took it to the mechanic we use for our older vehicles and estimate was 50% less with way better service. Also bought a 2017 Volt here and just brought it in to service. I'm in over $1000 on repairs, and now they are asking for another $1200. They would not give me the vehicle without paying the $1000. I had a confirmed appointment with them for 8:00 a.m. to diagnose a mechanical problem with my van. It was the first time I had been there. I dropped off my vehicle and call them at 1pm to get a status on my vehicle. And I was told they were working on it and someone would call me back. At 3:00 p.m. I called again to see if I could get a status and the manager of the service department someone by the name of Jason told me that no one had looked at my vehicle yet and they probably weren't going to get to it today. So I said okay I'll come and pick my vehicle up. And when I went to pick up my vehicle all they did was giving my keys and that was it. They never said sorry we couldn't honor your appointment would you like to come back tomorrow? They just acted like nothing happened. It was as if I had never made an appointment with him.
