Milpas Motors sold me a 2008 Aston Martin Vantage...convertible, manual. A very special car. Jim--the salesman--was both charming and made my first encounter with the car both welcoming and exciting. This is my first exotic--and he never once made me feel out of my league. (Although he is a savvy negotiator!) Steve finalized the deal and remained transparent throughout. As it happened, I test drove the car two weeks prior to coming back to purchase it--and, to my surprise, when I drove it off the lot, two blocks later...a conspicuously loud squeak I had not heard earlier was apparent. (It was the serpentine belt.) During the fulfillment of financing, a minor discrepancy in the material filed by Milpas (they cited the sales price a few dollars _less_ than what we had agreed), caused my bank to take pause--and afforded an additional convo with the dealership about the squeak. Steve graciously offered to replace the serpentine at his expense... Suggested I bring the car on back for the repair. Even though I was unable to do this due to international travel, Milpas honored that agreement a month later. And--while having the work done--the dealership was even kind enough to offer a pick up from their local mechanic. Moreover, since bringing the car home, the provenance of the car--everything Jim told me about the vehicle to help clinch the deal--has been verified by third parties...i.e., by an entirely different dealership's service manager familiar with the car and its former owner. The car is the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased...but it was not a purchase made impulsively. I don't regret it an iota. I must say: I have never loved a vehicle more...it's an absolute pleasure in every way. But importantly: while--with any used car purchase--buyer beware...I'm _extremely_ grateful the guys at Milpas operate with such integrity. This is not a used car dealership like so many others. Gorgeous inventory. Superior service. Real gentlemen. Highest recommendation. read more

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Oliver, Steven, and Jimmy. While I ultimately didn't buy the 718 Spyder they had after a 3 hour drive to see it, they gave me all the time in the world to examine every inch of the car, ask questions, went out of their way to get me a DME report late on a Friday -- and even bought lunch. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a specialty car to add to their garage. read more

Milpas Motors was the best experience I've ever had buying a car! Steve Hartman took such amazing care of me and the whole process with the deal, the financing, the paperwork was so easy! He has kept in touch to make sure I am happy with my Jag. I am overwhelmed with joy!!! And he went beyond the call of duty and then some when I had a little issue - he took great care in helping me. I love driving by this place and seeing all the cars. There always seems to be new, fun ones to look at. Even more fun, is getting out and walking through the lot. Today I ran into Jim, one of the brothers, and he was so pleasant to talk with. He let us hop into some of the cars just for fun :) I'm new to the community and he was super friendly and passionate about his work which is always fun to see. It makes me want to come here next time I want to buy a car! read more

This place is like no other auto sales dealer I've ever experienced. Steve went out of his way to show me the Bentley I was after. Seemed like we drove around for hours, back roads, windy streets and highway. He was already on top of a few minor repairs that were addressed in a pre sales inspection by a local expert Independant of Milpas Motors. I bought the car and couldn't be happier. No pressure and honest as the day is blue! Thanks boys for a great experience. read more

I just got a crazy a** call from the owner of this place, he complained to me for 7min ripping me a new a**hole. All because I mentioned to one of his salesman how I never got a call back from them. He then accused me of having a budget of 9k something I never said. My budget is 20k for a luxury suv that I wanted for my kids! He then said I had got emails from them! Nope! Never did, he said if I leave a review hes going to contact a lawyer. So im not allowed to tell my experience. I checked my folders before I posed this. I screen captured it all. I have no return messages on this car! Not from cars guru or car fax! He then told me I said I might not want to go that far! Lol ok Normally when a person contacts you about a vehicle, you send a email around the lines of. Hello blah blah it was nice talking with you. Hope to hear from you soon. NOPE! But I sure did get a aggressive call about how he messaged back several times. And that my budget was 9k. I guess this man knows my finances more then I do! I screan captured his call and length. Never in my life have I been contacted by a business owner angry because I said I wish I got a call back. As you can see in the emails there is nothing after I sent him a inquiry. Twice read more

So I don't know too many people who enjoy the car buying process. From haggling, to processing loans and signing unwanted warranties (because after 4 hours who really cares right?), it's not a fun experience until you finally get the car. I must say, however, as a person who rarely writes reviews, the team at Milpas Motors makes the entire process literally seamless. Steve was my Godsend on the day that I purchased my 2013 Audi A4. Not only was I surprised that I was able to test drive the car by myself (which is very helpful to not have a dealer breathing down your throat), but I was completely amazed at how fast the turnaround was, and how diligent he was in getting me the best offer/loan. If you're new to the car buying world, it can be very scary because typically sales people are trying to meet their quota, and they could care less about your best interest. These wonderful people at Milpas Motors, though? You will feel as if you're sitting down with your parents because they want the very best fit for you, and the care and attention to detail is unscathed. This is my third dealership experience and I would recommend any and everyone to trust these guys with finding the best car for you. P.S. (My credit is not perfect by any means and I still received an APR of less than 10%. This is not common, and it shows how valid their lender partners are). Don't sleep on them! read more

Jim, Jim Jr and the rest of the crew were especially helpful in buying my car. First off they answer the phone and talk to you like a real person. I purchased a 2013 Ferrari 458 spyder. Each of the salesmen were extremely knowledgeable and very upfront. If anything they over described the car to me- which I appreciate. I made the drive from LA to SB and was even more pleased in person. The location is easy to find and somebody is always there. We went over the car, finalized the deal and off to the bank I went. When I got back 9 minutes later, the car was being washed; inside and out. What a class act. In addition 1 week later Jim tracked down and sent me the additional literature, records, etc from the original owner. I didn't even have to ask for it. A FedEx envelope arrived with everything and then some. I would go back read more

Can't say enough good things about the guys at Milpas Motors! We looked everywhere for a pristine Eurovan Camper and they had the absolute best specific vehicle that we could find in all of Southern California. Steve was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, honest and stayed good to his promises. From the appraisal to the mechanical integrity of the vehicle right down to the financing. "He fought for us" when the financing almost fell thru. They even followed up months later and provided spare keys that had been later recovered. Thank you to Steve and the team for making my teenage camper-van dream come true!!! read more

I bought a used Model S from the dealer in July. Overall, I am not happy with the purchase and lost a good chunk of money on the deal. Dealer clearly noted in his communication that the car has Autopilot and Free supercharging. He said that he even confirmed this with Tesla service department. So I thought I paid a decent price considering the car had these two features. As soon as I got the car, I realized that it doesn't have both these features. Dealer did not have any idea about these features. His ignorance costed me good amount of money. For the price I paid for the car, I would have gotten a later year model with less miles. Autopilot alone is 3300$. Even after contacting several times, Dealer did not try to do anything about it. His ignorance about the car costed me money. read more

Milpas Motors - 07 mercedes SL550 - Car Dealers Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

although the lot is filled with beautiful cars, my daughter and I were completely ignored by the fedora-topped salesman. We waited in the showroom - probably 20 feet from his desk - while he talked with a customer/friend. No simple "hello" or "I will be right with you". Len (fedora guy) even took a phone call and chatted about loan rates while we waited. We were incredulous at his arrogant disregard - up to that point, I had been on a mission to buy the mercedes on the lot. Have since discovered how overpriced the vehicles are - Len's rudeness saved me $4000!!! read more

I stopped in at Milpas Motors to look at a Toyota Land Cruiser in the lot. We decided that we were indeed serious to buy the car and scheduled a test drive to which we brought our mechanic to look over the car and tell us what he thought, on my boyfriends lunch hour. When we arrived at the lot, the car was not charged, it was not running at all. The man put a charger on the battery, etc., but he should have prepared for our appointment by making sure the car was at least charged. It was a complete wast of time, and we had the cash in hand. Furthermore, the car salesman failed to call us after the appointment as he had promised, to let us know if we could come back and test drive it another day. TOTAL FAIL. read more

Saw a car I was interested in on Auto Trader at a great price. Contacted Patrick and he provided all the information I needed. So happy with the service provided and most importantly with the vehicle we bought. I would highly recomend! read more

The best car buying experience I have had! Patrick sourced a new Audi Q3 with a great lease deal to go with it. The buying process was so simple. I told him what I was looking for, let him now the quotes I had received so far and presto, a better deal. When the car arrived, an Audi rep showed me through the car, I signed some forms and it was done.....so much faster than I had experienced at other car dealerships previously. To top it off, its great fun looking around the lot with a mix of classic, modern and hip cars available. Will definitely come here again. read more

I am so happy I bought my car from Milpas Motors. I did not even see the car, I relied on the pictures and the feedback from my sales person, Seteven. I have been bye 3 times in the last month. Just doing research and I have been on this lot in the past many times because they don't hassle you, they say hi and "Let us know if we can show you anything" But lately I feel accosted by the Car washer, following me around and asking questions that I feel are not necessary for my browsing and idea gathering. So I Vamoose. My family & I have purchased 2 out of the last 3 cars from here. I hope that the owners are the same. Santa Barbara doesn't need another car lot of head hunters and sculkers. read more

Warning, despicable, no integrity. Do not trust or believe anything they say. I purchased a car from them on Thursday morning. We agreed that they would take the car to my mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection; I would obtain a loan. Friday morning (next day) I called to tell them I had the loan and asked if they had taken the car to my mechanic. They SOLD the car to the next person who came in! Never told me; and gave me the biggest line of BS as to why the HAD to sell it to another. Very polite people, seemed so nice but just without any scruples. The worst of any dealer I've ever dealt with. read more

These guys are great, I found the deal online for a BMW and he sent me everything I needed including more detailed pictures, carfax, maintenance records and we were able to reach an agreement through phone and email. Patrick was very helpful. He pointed out the tiny scratch through email and touched it up for us. I sent him all the new title info by email and went there and took a spin around the block and everything checked out. We made the payment and drove off with the car in about 45 minutes. Buying an expensive car from 1800 miles away, without ever having seen it, can be nerve wracking. I knew Milpas Motors carried the type of car I was interested in, but knew nothing about their customer approval rating. One look at Yelp convinced me to give them a call. James and Len were great to deal with. They provided accurate information, and worked with me to arrange for an independent inspection of the vehicle, as well as additional repairs that I requested before it shipped. They also helped to work through a paperwork snafu that was out of their control. The car arrived in the excellent condition portrayed in their pictures. I am very happy with the transaction and would definitely recommend them. read more

I recently had a great experience in buying a car from Milpas Motors. Patrick, Len and Jim were all very professional, helpful, and of course true to their word. When there was a minor issue with the car we had just bought, they took care of it, all at their own expense. This was our second time buying through them (the first time in 2005 via their brokering service) and I will always use them in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to sell or buy a car! read more

I bought a used tdi from them. I've had the car for about 5 months and had to dump about 4000.00 in to it. I had 4 injectors, a fuel pump, a bad turbo egr problems all go bad on the car in a short amount of time. I called them up because I have about a 9000.00 loan for the car and asked if they could help me out at least give me a discount on one of your mechanics to work on it. I'm a nice guy I wasn't being rude. Steve replied with I appreciate your problem but there is nothing we can do about it. Just a warning don't get sucked into seeing a nice car with new tires on it. Have a mechanic check out any car your thinking of buying from this place. read more

I just took delivery on a 911 Turbo this past week. The car left California via enclosed transportation on 3/18 and arrived in Michigan on 3/24. My sales representative, Patrick, was absolutely incredible. Excellent communication, all questions answered, pictures sent, professional, courteous, attentive, the list goes on and on. I also spoke to Len and he was equally professional and courteous. Looking back on the entire transaction, I cannot think of one thing I wish was handled differently. I would certainly purchase another car from Milpas Motors and I highly recommend them to anyone considering a vehicle purchase. Thank you guys! read more

I received a great deal on a BMW and walked away happy. The service throughout the entire process was top notch, no haggle and no bs. Jim Crook was excellent to work worth and seems like a wonderful person. We spoke at length about his support of the Boys & Girls Club (an organization that I grew up in) and how he raises funds to give back to the community; I was very impressed by his humility and casual candor. From the owners, to the salesman (Patrick), to the gentlemen who prep the cars (Phil); everyone treated me with kindness, respect and hospitality. I took the car out for a test drive on my own before purchasing it. It was so refreshing not to have to feel pressured or cornered into listening to a sales pitch while test driving like most dealerships. It seems that the philosophy at Milpas Motors is to keep quality vehicles in stock and let the cars sell themselves; at least that's how it worked in my experience. They let me take it off of the lot a second time to have my mechanic inspect the vehicle and it came back with a glowing review. I would definitely recommend this dealership and particularly Jim. My husband and I look forward to becoming repeat customers in the future. Hopefully this is just the beginning in establishing what we can imagine to be a long relationship if service continues to be this up to par. read more
