first of all I've never been charged for cleaning or xrays from any dental office because my insurance totally covers that. Wellll, Coast dental apparently took too many exrays and i just received a letter from my insurance stating they may bill me. We'll see! my insurance also covers deep cleaning and the hygienist made sure i understood no charge for that but snuck in other costs since i didn't have my readers or hearing aids. that wasn't explained clearly. so $172 dollars later..... my husband visited the day before and had xrays and cleaning. didn't care for the facility at all. went to another dental office who asked for the xrays and when he went back to coast dental they didn't have a record of him as a patient!!! they don't want to play nice and give him his xrays! i will say dr. I went there due to not being able to get into my regular hygienist. Ihad complimentary xrays done. Then was told they couldn't do my cleaning, I would need "deep cleaning" costing $744.00. I was also told I had a crack in a crown. I left in shock to decide what to do. Got into my Dentist at Florida Dental Associates and didn't need the deep cleaning, and didn't have a cracked in my crown. Found out they are paid on commission at Coast Dental.$$$$ is their goal. read more

I was pleased with the dentist and the other one that works on you , I went there and got beautiful work done but the billing didn't know how or didn't want to take the time to fill out paper work for my insurance to pay . I went back and was told they no longer took my insurance so I called my insurance and they do take it , got another appointment but got nothing done my insurance said the paperwork was not filled out properly! I have made an appointment 5 times over the course of the last 3 months and each time I receive a text that tells me there is no doctor in the office. I then proceeded to receive another text saying they were sorry I canceled my appointment. This is incorrect. I have kept all my 5 appointment reminders and cancelations. I would have given this place a one, except Dr. Baker was very nice. Everything else about it was ridiculous! This whole organization (Coast Dental) seems to be a conglomerate that cares only about the money. Be prepared for an environment of a mix between "the soup Nazi (Seinfeld)" and "keystone cops". While the staff are pleasant, it is not a "warm, we want to take care of you" place. Combine that with the AWFUL billing practices, we WILL NOT be back. We have VERY GOOD Dental insurance AND Medical (which acts as a dental co-pay). We have not paid a dime out-of-pocket for cleanings/checkups in over 10 yrs with these insurances (we moved from another state and had to change dentist). That is not the case with this racket. When I got the bills, I called and asked if they had filed with the Medical ins, the person told me, "No, we only file one insurance. Anything else is up to you". That was the end of the conversation. I gave her about 30-45 seconds of silence to offer another suggestion or at least offer to tell me how to go about filing....... Nothing! Dead Air! It gets worse! I called my medical insurance to ask for assistance. They were extremely helpful and instructed me how to file..... which I started the process and then the form asked about dental insurance. When I looked up my dental insurance.... NOTHING has been filed with them either! Therefore, Coast Dental is just plain LYING when they tell you they honor/file insurance. Buyer beware. If you think I am just a mean person, look at the rest of my reviews, RARELY do I ever review less than a 4 or 5, because I would rather say NOTHING than bad things, but this is just WRONG and I wanted to warn people. read more

Paid out over 1,000 dollars for a crown that was covered by insurance amd now they are trying to collect over 300 dollars for mine and my daughters x rays which are also covered by our insurance and billed my daughter for floride which is also covered by our insurance. Love my teeth and love going to the dentist. The hygienist and dentist were super nice and professional. The problem lies with the front desk. The receptionist la are curt and rude. I came in after a year "hiatus" and informed them over the phone that my insurance had changed. When I came in, not only was I not greeted, but upon checking out she had my wrong insurance information. When I told her that it had changed, she became frazzled and rude. I looked at the time and it was 4:30pm. I then understood that I became a major inconvenience. She started sighing loudly- and giving snide remarks and looks to her co-receptionist. My mom just changed to this practice after 20 years of going to another Dentist. On this trip I came with her to her appointment and met them for the first time. I couldn't have been more impressed with the customer service! Jonni Lynn, the Tech that worked with her, is so genuinely sweet and caring...she listened to my mom's concerns with empathy, reviewed all costs thoroughly, including a discussion of how to possibly avoid unnecessary fees, then figured out exactly what was at the root of the problem. Dr. Baker doesn't do emergency visits. I'm not sure why they lie and say they do, but they definitely do not. We scheduled an emergency appointment through the call center on a Monday. They scheduled us for that Wednesday. Baker's office called the next day and cancelled the appointment saying the call center made a mistake. She said the soonest appointment they had was in a month. If we could wait a month it wouldn't be an emergency. We explained that to her and her response was, that's the soonest we can get you in. Called Aspen, they got us in that afternoon. read more

I pay cash and I needed a para Donto maintenance cleaning. They tried to charge me the whole amount in cash even though they printed out the copy which showed the exact price the insurance paid minus from the whole price. I went home without my cleaning because they were insisting I paid the whole price. I called Corporate and complained and they had to return my call and explain but then they went back to the original smaller price like they didn't realize that they were asking me for $84. This review is for the Spring Hill North (Brooksville) location. I wish I could rate this place with a negative number of stars. My first contact with them was to schedule an exam, xrays, & cleanings for my husband and I. On the morning of the appointment, they called and cancelled. (Mind you, I had already taken the morning off from work.) Okay, stuff happens. For the next first appointment, we arrived early as we were instructed to do because we were new patients. We waited 45 minutes (well past our appointment time). I will admit that the dentist was very nice for the 3 minutes that I actually spent with him. When I got into the chair, I was informed that they do not do cleanings on the first visit. I was very disappointed as we had discussed this when making the first appointment because getting time off work every couple of weeks for dental work is not easy for me. They basically had a "too bad" attitude and told me that I shouldn't have been told that they would perform the cleanings by the receptionist. Okay, fine, just a misunderstanding. Next they advise that I have a deep cleaning and even with my dental insurance, it will be almost $400. (200 for each of 2 more visits) and that I will need to do this 3x a year instead of twice a year because my gums are so bad. I have never had a dentist tell me that. I'm a little weary about it but I agreed and met my husband out front to schedule our next appointments. He was also advised that he needs the deep cleaning, 2 fillings, and 3 crowns...totaling almost $2K with my insurance. I asked them if his BCBS-Florida Blue Medicare Advantage would cover some of that and she said "We don't bill secondary insurance for you". Gee thanks! We made appointments to return in a couple of weeks to get started. The day after our visit, I call his BCBS and they advised me that they would have paid the $28 my husband was charged for his exam and xrays at 100% if they were billed as primary. DON'T YOU THINK SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT??? So, now the week before our appointments, they call to see if we can come in that day because they have had some cancellations. I explain that I can't get time off work that quickly. I told her to bill my husbands BCBS from now on as primary and she said she would "try". I also told her that I thought it over and decided against the deep cleaning. She put me on hold to check (the one with the really deep voice) and came back to the phone and said that the doctor said I had to have it done because I had an infection in my gums??? No one told me that when I was there AND I sure wasn't sent home with any prescription antibiotics. She also said if I didn't do the deep cleanings, they couldn't keep seeing me as their patient. OK! So the next day, I get another call to see if we can come in because they have openings. I explained again that I can't change dates off at work like that. This woman explained that she would write that in my file. 3rd day in a row I get a call from them to see if I can change.....NOW I'm starting to really get upset and tell her the same thing I have now said for 3 days in a row. (Mind you these calls are during the day and my employer frowns on too many personal calls.) I am unable to switch days because of my job and she pauses for a bit and says, "well we have a problem...your hygienist is now only part-time and we HAVE to reschedule you anyway. NOW, I'M DONE. I TELL HER AS MUCH. I ask how to get my records and she tells me I will have to sign a release form. She took my fax # and said she would fax them to me. She never did. I called to find out why I hadn't received the fax and the lady that answered said there wasn't any notes in my file about any of this....ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? She also tells me that I can't do it by fax, but I can go onto their website for instructions about how to get my records. **The phone calls to reschedule were Monday 4/5/21, Tuesday 4/6/21, & Wed 4/7/21. Our appointments were scheduled for 4/13/2021. Then Saturday 4/10/21 I get a text about confirming my husband's appointment. I decline it. Then Monday 4/12/21 I get an email to confirm and then a phone call to confirm. I tell the lady that I wouldn't let them do an exam on a teddy bear! Guess what?? They texted Tuesday 4/13/2021 in the AM to confirm his afternoon appointment --- THAT THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESCHEDULE????? SMH read more

The problem with this office isn't the dentist or the dental assistants. It's mostly the front desk person. She trashes you to the dental hygienist when you go in for a cleaning (the walls are thin.) Then the hygienist makes rude remarks. Treats you in a prejudicial manner. I had one hygienist who had the irrigating device turned up so high the water ran down my throat and I choked on it. I was lying flat. Can't say that it was deliberate, but it might have been. They are supposed to wait until the numbing gel takes effect before they start the cleaning. The last time I went here the hygienist put it on, jumped right in. I had a lot of pain. Don't go here! read more
