Rude owner. Refused to allow taste testing with zero explanation. Wanted a booking without the taste test or a look at a portfolio.

Great vibe and thoughtful service, though the iced tea missed the mark…read more We stopped by this beautiful café during a day trip to Astoria, and it completely won us over with its cozy atmosphere and kind hospitality. We ordered the Tempeh Reuben: grilled tempeh, house-made sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese with house-made Reuben sauce on their signature scorcher rye. It was absolutely outstanding! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. The rich flavors of the grilled tempeh and the perfect tang of the sauerkraut paired beautifully with the hearty, fresh-baked rye. The service was also wonderful and incredibly thoughtful--they noticed we were sharing and kindly split the sandwich into two separate plates for us before bringing it out, which we truly appreciated. The only downside was the iced tea, which unfortunately tasted quite watered down and lacked flavor. Aside from that, it's a fantastic spot. If you're exploring the historic streets of Astoria and looking for high-quality, conscious food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Was in town and this cute cafe was right next to our hotel. Came here early in the morning for some…read more"get up and go" juice (aka coffee and tea). The gentleman working was very friendly. Their pastry section has so many options that it was hard to choose (BUT I AM ALWAYS UP FOR THE TASK!)... I landed on the cinnamon and cardamom morning bun. It was more dense than I was expecting, which isn't a bad thing at all, just an observation. It was crispy on the outside with a soft and sweet inside; it was so delicious. The outside was almost crystallised with the cinnamon and cardamom (So. Dang. Good). We got an americano and a chai tea with almond milk. The coffee was fine but the chai wasn't my favorite. Okay quality but it was more a chai tea with milk than a chai latte that I was thinking it would be. You can also buy something from the "pay it forward" menu so that all members of the community can access this yummy cafe, regardless of ability to pay. Loved seeing that! There is a large breakfast menu, too, in addition to the pastries... they had breakfast tacos, sandwiches, and more! They also sell bagels and bread loafs.

WOW!! This is THE place to go in Gearhart / Seaside area. We somehow stumbled upon a Saturday…read morereservation, you will likely need one before coming. They run a tight ship so arrive on time for your reservation. We found free street parking nearby, it didn't seem too congested in this area. Delicious, unique, and creative dishes with a changing locally sourced menu. One of the owners mentioned to us that all ingredients arrive on Thursday and that determines the menu. We started with the homemade focaccia and chili roasted carrots. The carrots were wonderful, perfectly done. We loved the pumpkin seeds and coconut. For entrees we had the halibut and seafood paella. Both were obviously very fresh and perfectly cooked. Scallops were some of the best I've had on the coast so far. The chili sauce on the halibut was a great sweet spicy contrast to the halibut. The chocolate ganache was of course delicious also, it had many unique flavors contributing but was not overwhelming at all. In addition to the wonderful menu selection and local options, they also offered some vegetarian dishes. There was also a tasting menu available for two or four people (about $65 / $95 respectively). Lastly, huge wine list and selections. Indoor dining was such an adorable atmosphere. Beautiful paintings, decorations, and lighting created a calm beach town ambiance. Many were sitting outside also which I would try if I came back. Service was extremely fast and staff were very welcoming. I will not forget this restaurant and cannot wait to return. We are accustomed to Midwest farm to table dining experiences, and this exceeded our expectations. Made such a wonderful highlight to our trip to the coast!

The flavors were incredible, and the salmon was a perfect texture. My duck dish came with a heavy salad portion, and the duck ended up being lukewarm. Although the flavors and texture were good, the temperature really detracted from the dish. My grandma ordered a crab cake. It was pretty standard, not remarkable. I really like the interior and some of the wall decorations. The whale planter was especially fun.
