Check your order before you leave! Not very impressed with their service. The pastries were delicious but the drinks and service from the lady in back were not. Ordered an iced caramel Americano with cream and a light roast coffee with cream. Tasted the iced caramel and there was literally no caramel added. When we asked for some caramel bc we didn't think it was added, we were told "we do it light" in a very snarky way and that I needed to talk to the guy bringing drinks to the window. He was sweet and fixed the drink. Got back to our hotel to open my drink and found no cream in it. Our family joke now "they do it light". I won't be returning! read more

We were pretty excited to try this place after seeing the reviews and drinking their Keurig pods while staying at the hotel next door. Unfortunately, we were let down. We ordered a couple bagels and a drip coffee because their espresso machine was broken the day we went. The bagels were pretty disappointing; similar to Thomas bagels you'd find at the grocery store. The drip coffee was admittedly pretty good. We waited in line for about 20 minutes shortly after they opened but we probably wouldn't go again. read more

Americano is super fragrant, neither too bitter or acidic. It also went down very smoothly and had a slight sweet undertone. When buying their coffee beans we were told they roast them no more than 48 hours ago. With the quality of the americano we believe that! Was adventurous and tried the sweet mint cold brew w/cream. Was a little worried it would be too minty as it was advertised just as sweet mint, not peppermint. However, it closely resembles the taste of peppermint. It was like a fresh take on peppermint coffee. We do feel like it was a bit more cream than preferred but overall glad we tried it! Lastly we got the Irish cream latte. The Irish cream was very prominent and the coffee flavor was just as good as the americano. We passed by the Coffee shop three times throughout the day, and each time the line was out the door. While still being super busy up until closing, service was super friendly and upbeat. We have yet to try the coffee beans but anticipate they will be great considering the quality of the drinks we got. The coffee beans were $15-16 for a 1 pound bag which is a steal if the quality is good. Since we went right at closing we didn't sit inside to drink but the inside is small yet cozy and super comforting. read more

We went when the espresso machine was down, so we tried their cold brew. We liked it! Very strong. Customer service was great. We also tried the everything bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese which was yummy! And the maple bar was one of the best, so fluffy and delicious. Will be back! read more

When we recently visited cannon beach I stopped at my favorite coffee shop but it was not a great experience... they seemed very untrained and over filled my coffee and didn't put a lid on it so it spilled all over. I also couldn't tell if they were open or closed. read more

OH MY LANTA! I waltzed in here 5 minutes before they closed all muddy after my 3 hour hike and honestly felt bad about coming in right before they closed. But, they were so amazing! Wonderful and kind staff, super efficient service and the coffee was truly spectacular! I mean it's drip coffee 5 minutes before they closed BUT it still tasted hot and fresh and I was throughly impressed!! I got the medium roast and it was fantastic as well as a delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (they bake in house!) Hands down the best coffee shop I'd argue in all the states. The owners are always behind the bar working along side their employees. They even remember your name, mind you I visit once a year. Their coffee is incredible. Their 3 signature espresso drinks are phenomenal with flavor and not too sweet, take notes Starbucks. Fun fact, Sleepy monk does their own roasting and supplies the whole Canon Beach area. Their reputation in town is legendary. All of their pastries and bagels are made fresh or outsourced fresh from a local bakery. Expect a line but it's well worth the wait. I recommend the Monk's Decadence, salmon bagel (mind you I don't like salmon but LOVE this bagel spread), and marion berry oatbar. read more

This little coffee shop is just two blocks from he entrance to Cannon Beach. We went there on a Saturday morning and there was a long line out on the street! This is always a good sign, it means the coffee and food can't be bad! We had there special coffee the Monk's Decadence and Druid's Delight. Both were delicious! The chocolate whipped cream on top was really amazing! The coffee was so good we even bought a bags of coffee beans to take home. Beyond their coffees, they have fresh pastries baked daily in house. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in OR. The staff are fun and great to talk with. The coffee is not bitter or burnt. Good acidity. The place is small but has some seating. You can get bags of whole bean and ground to go also. They ship orders once a week if you wanted to order online. I have a few bags of the house bean at home for our machine. Being one of the only places open at 8am in the morning at Cannon Beach means you get an early try for coffee since my wife needs it to function. Quite the line up, prior to opening, lets you know that the locals live this place as well. I had a hot chocolate, great by the way, and my wife had the Druids Delight (an Americano). The pastures were amazing as well... we each had a bacon and blue cheese scone which were delicious and then I have a toasted bagel with salmon mousse and my wife had a berry turnover. Many reviews rave about how good their bagels are... they aren't anything to write home about. Yes, they are fresh, but they are definitely not worth the wait in a line that takes forever to move. There's also a good chance you will wait in line just to find out they are sold out. If you are visiting during the weekend prepare to wait over 30-45 minutes in line. The coffee was average. I liked the chocolate whipped cream as a topper. Overall, I wouldn't wait in line again, this place is not what everybody makes it out to be. This has become my goto coffee place in Cannon Beach. Line up for the coffee, but be prepared for the pastries. The pastries are house made and incredibly delicious. The Maple bar. Sun-dried tomato cream cheese that goes on the bagels. The vegan breads. The scones. Always worthwhile to go home with a couple of bags of coffee: they are such a great value. Owning the tin is a point of pride. My goto drink is the cold brew: delicious every time. There's a wide selection of beautiful coffee beans, and they are so reasonably priced that I save up my coffee bean needs for my visits here. It's worth picking several up for the people you love or want to expressed appreciation for. This last visit I picked up two bags; it's a fantastic feeling to be able to gift something so amazing for an affordable price. If you're lucky enough to get the tables inside, you'll feel the good vibes, but even if you're outside, standing in line, rain or shine, the people are wonderful to talk with and you might make a new friend bc that's just the amazing energy that place draws together. A bit of a wait, but well worth it! Had the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a yummy Monk's Decandence (mocha w/Irish cream). Also, tried the poppyseed cake w/cream cheese and an iced Monastery Maddness (mocha w/caramel) which were also good. The ambiance here was also cool. Smooth, rich flavor, not overly acidic and good undertones.. and as I sat inside, enjoying my coffee, they have a nice big display case with coffees from around the world. So I decided to grab a bag. They had sweet and savory breakfast pastry options. I tried the druids delight drink and it didn't disappoint. I mean with chocolate whip cream how could it?! They also have almond or soy milk as non dairy options. They do not have oat milk. The inside is cozy but they do have a few tables. There is also outside seating as well. I've been fishing out of cannon beach for 20 years. I have never stopped in to get a coffee or pastry after a day on the ocean. Don't understand the rudeness. This is my mom's favorite coffee shop. The only place she bought coffee from the 2.5years we've lived here, and the 2 years since. My point is that she's a loyal, very enthusiastic fan of this place. However, the one and only time I've accompanied her in, I was shocked at the treatment. My mom bought 8 bags of whole beans, a drink, and 3 pastries. They were busy, so I assumed maybe that's why they were short with us. After we ordered, we stood outside at the pickup window and my mom counted the change she was given. She was certain she hadn't been charged enough, even including the generous tip, so she went inside to try to pay for the 2 pastries she thought she hadn't been charged for. The lady working at the counter freaked out on my mom, going on about how she had worked there for many years and knew how to work the register, how to do math, how to give change... it was nuts! I've never seen somwthing like it. It's as if she thought she was being accused of being bad at math or her job or something. Totally bonkers attitude to have towards my sweet mother who was just trying to pay more money. My mom ended up sticking more money in the tip jar and still feeling bad. When we picked up the drink and beans at the window, they practically threw them at us. My mom still loves the place, but I'll never go there again. I don't go to coffee shops to encounter angry people. Luckily, I found an adorable coffee shop right down the street. Cannon Beach and the close towns have enough coffee shops available- it's not worth your time or money to go to this one. I recommend any of the others - Sleepy Monk is the only I've found that'll freak out on you for trying to pay for what you got. read more

One star is still too much! While the coffee itself is good the experience with the older woman taking the order sent this review to the bottom. After ordering my coffee, I handed her my credit card. She literally threw it back at me and said VISA or MASTERCARD, PLEASE! with a very sarcastic tone. So I decided to give her cash as it was just a little over five dollars. I couldn't remember what she said was the price so then I said was it $5.17 and with a very sarcastic tone again she said FIVE ... SEVENTY... FIVE...PLEASE AND THANK YOU! My favorite baked goods are the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (individually wrapped) and the Rosemary Sea Salt bagel that they toast for you. This is a popular place to go so there is almost always a line; however it moves quickly and worth the short wait. This is a small shop so there is limited indoor seating. There is covered outdoor heated seating and during good weather times there are multiple options for outdoor seating. You can also take your purchased goodies down the street to the beach as well. There is a variety of parking options, though it can still get busy in the area. Note, bathrooms are available across the street at the public restroom. read more
