These guys were awesome!! Got me insurance and a car within 24hrs. Great service. I'm back on the…read moreroad making much needed cash! The peace of mind that comes from their maintenance program is everything. Great Program, if you want to get in the ride share industry or you are already in but need a new car. My car broke down, so I got a car with Lyft. Realized how much money I was losing from not having my power drive bonus. Then my friend recommended Whip leasing...Best friend ever. I spend less money on my car today and the reliability of having a new car ensures that I can stay on the road making $$!!

1 Star My experience…read morewith DriveWhip was one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I have had with a rental company. My rental contract was terminated over damage that I maintain was not my fault. What made the situation even worse was that this happened after I was involved in an accident that was not my fault and suffered significant injuries, including a concussion. Once DriveWhip became aware of the circumstances and the injuries I sustained, I expected at least some level of understanding and compassion. Instead, I felt like what I had gone through simply did not matter. I was not asking for special treatment. I was asking to be treated like a human being who had just been through a serious accident. The situation became even more upsetting afterward. Following disagreements about the termination, I was told that I could start another rental contract. Multiple members of DriveWhip's staff told me that another contract would be allowed to proceed. I relied on those statements and acted accordingly. Most importantly, I paid DriveWhip over $1,400 based on the understanding that I would be able to move forward with the new contract. Then, after I had already paid that money, DriveWhip reversed its position and decided that the new contract would not be allowed to start. That is what I find particularly unacceptable. If multiple employees tell a customer that an agreement can proceed, and that customer then pays more than $1,400 based on those representations, the company should be prepared to stand behind what its employees told that customer. Instead, I was left feeling like I had been given assurances to get me to move forward and make the payment, only for those assurances to disappear afterward. The financial loss was frustrating, but the way I was treated was even worse. I had already been dealing with the aftermath of an accident, serious injuries, and a concussion. I was also trying to maintain transportation and continue working. Rather than receiving understanding during an extremely difficult situation, I felt that I was treated as though I was simply another problem to be disposed of. Companies are absolutely entitled to have policies and protect themselves. But policies do not excuse poor communication, lack of empathy, or making commitments to a customer and then reversing them after the customer has paid a substantial amount of money. My biggest takeaway from this experience is to get everything from DriveWhip in writing. Do not rely solely on what an employee tells you over the phone or in conversation. If you are told that something will be allowed, make sure you have documentation before handing over your money. After everything that happened, I do not feel that DriveWhip treated me fairly, consistently, or with the basic level of compassion I would expect from a company dealing with someone who had just been seriously injured in an accident that was not their fault. This was not simply a bad rental experience. It was the way DriveWhip handled me when I was already dealing with one of the most difficult situations I had experienced.

I am surprised to see so many poor ratings. I have used Kyte about 10 times since I learned about…read morethe company, and overall I am extremely happy with the service, and SO GLAD it exists. It used to be such a huge hassle getting to the closest car rental company, hoping they actually HAD a car available, and waiting, waiting, waiting in some austere lobby. I have so many horror stories from rental companies like Hertz, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, etc. There was one trip where the kyte drop off was an hour late. Otherwise, it's always been relatively punctual and SO CONVENIENT to wait IN YOUR HOME instead of in some horrible tiny cramped car rental facility lobby. Yes, be aware of the fuel policy. They will charge you allegedly market rates to refill the tank, but it's way over market rate. So just fill it yourself and avoid that. Cars have EZ passes and toll charges are passed onto you at the rate of the toll, no extra fees. You can add a second driver FOR FREE. This service kicks the butt of traditional car rental companies. Keep up the good work, Kyte.

Kyte was founded to help the poor rental car experience- only to offer yet another poor rental car…read moreexperience! I contacted Kyte to let them know I was delayed and then my flight took off. They had my contact information including flight information, and yet when I landed, I found out my rental was cancelled because I didn't respond or show up. Just trying to figure out how I could have called to cancel or responded any further than saying my flight was delayed. It's really frustrating because now all the cars are sold out and I have to wait another day or so if I want to get a car from them (which at this point, is not gonna happen, because I had such an awful experience). I ended up trying to rent from DCA and they were completely sold out of the cars and had people waiting three hours. So I just ended up in a rideshare and going to another rental car place outside the airport a couple days later, which was still very inconvenient. I did contact customer service, and the best they could do is offer me a credit, but the conversation kept timing out, because "I was not responding in time". I think this may be a good car rental place if you are local and your flights not late. But if you have any changes to your reservation, or if you happen to be running late and unable to get to a phone text, just know that you'll be screwed. I really hope this is able to improve their policies or just communicate a little better with folks, especially those flying into places that are actually in need of rental cars that they may have in their fleet.
