Ayd is the by far the most honest and upfront mechanic we found in Baltimore. We used several others including Jerrys (they're pretty decent but pricing is high, felt like they only were in it for money and not upfront with what could waitll, SAP, J & K (over charged and didn't even diagnose the actual issue), Firestone (worst experience, great price of tires had to come back 3 times with issues w install). Living in Baltimore for 15 years it took us 10 years with dozens of autobody and repair shops to finally find Ayd who was actually just a word of mouth suggestion.
He has always been the most competitive in pricing, very timely but most important he's upfront and honest. If he can save you money by suggesting you do the necessities vs what other garages love to do which is say oh my you need to address immediately, there's 4 major issues. Come to find out its a minor and it took him 1 hour to figure out. Moving back to Baltimore after school my cruise control turned on randomly while driving on the highway. My car was new to me bought the extended warranty on a certified preowned mazda b3000 (loaded and a beautiful truck) driving from Charlotte to Baltimore the dealer at ford in dundalk via the phone scared the hell out of me, told me it was transmission but that most likely wasn't covered. Said we'd have to take apart countless areas to figure out and if it was covered under my powerrtain warranty I would be responsible for the bill. Luckly my parents got a referral from some lifers in baldimore hon, he came strongly recommend. Showed up, told him what had happened to me during my 7 hour drive, left the car with him and an hour later he called to say it was a 70.00 fix, come pick it up. We've been going to Patrick Ayd since. He has done countless little things on the house when I would hear a noise and rush it in to him. He has saved me thousands when I thought I should go ahead and be proactive to the water pump and a few others. He is honest w what's gonna last and what you really need to take care of. One time with my passat (worst year to have bought 2002 regarding engine issues) we kept trying to figure out what the issue was, it only happened at certain times during a certain situation. Ayd kept the vechicle for the weekend and drove it as his daily to diagnose the issue. Day before returning it about to say I see no issues, he encountered the issue while his wife and himself were driving it to the grocery store. Had he not gone above and beyond I would've kept having the issue and my engine would've seized. He didn't have to do that for us, but thats the kind of service he provides.
As long as we live in Baltimore, Ayd has my business. read more
