At least one major appliance cost more than it's "big chain" competition, but I try to do business with smaller shops like Quimby's. The appliances so far are mostly satisfactory. When I had a problem with one, however, the owner did not follow up when requested and instead I was treated very poorly over a simple misunderstanding related to delivery. I do not deserve to be spoken to so rudely and disrespectfully for any reason - especially at these prices.

I had two experiences which Whirlpool washer I purchased four years ago, First one is about the door lock, error code was E01 F03, I looked after the solution by googling and YouTube. That thing was not easy when you encounter first time, I called them the service, Bob came in same day, he fixed for me, I paid because, the time was just passed the warranty period. The second time was happened just couple of days ago. This time was not the door issue but about the drain pump which is not working. I called them, and they scheduled me next day, then they ordered the pump and fixed the next day, it costs me about two hundreds which include the cost of service and the pump. I called the other service center for the repair, when I was waiting. They said, they will charge me $99.00 even though there is no repair. Maybe, I try to show that what is the better option to choose when you have similar occasion. I suggest their Good service and better timing. Thanks Bob.

Honestly, I find some of the complaints of JT's Appliance to be really remarkable. JT's Appliance…read moreis a local gem, a precious and reliable resource. We moved to Putnam six years ago, and since then have made four service calls: once to repair a 10-year-old washer/dryer combo we inherited from the former owner, and three other times when various parts of our refrigerator needed to be replaced after power outages/surges that are common in our neighborhood: a new logic board, a replacement ice maker, and a reprogramming. We liked them so much that we considered them when we upgraded our dishwasher earlier this year, and chose to buy from them: we paid the same price as "discount" warehouse stores, and we got delivery and installation plus removal of the old washer at a much lower price than the competition. JT staff are courteous and attentive, honest and RELIABLE. And isn't it better to pay a few hundred dollars to repair a $1500-3000-dollar appliance than to pay for a new replacement? JT's is an OUTSTANDING local resource. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I was damn right, and found out the lawn service I used to use bought their exact fertilizer and pesticides from Preco. I walked in and was greeted by a guy named Chris. He was awesome, and answered every question I had, and gave me a bunch of tips. I bought a 50lb bag of commercial grade slow release fertilizer for $29. An amazing price, compared to the Scott's crap everyone sells. They do sales, service, and parts for lawn equipment. Seriously, if you take pride in your lawn, check this place out, instead of using Scott's or paying for a service.

I've just turned to Michael for help with a third situation…read more A year ago I purchased a used washing machine from Michael at a very reasonable price with an added one year warranty. When I thought I was having a problem with it, he was prompt in assessing the situation and making a recommendation. Turned out an easier remedy solved the problem. When I offered to pay for the part Michael had ordered for me, he declined. This spring I worked with him on the purchase a new electric range. Everything went smoothly and I couldn't be happier. Recently my 26-year-old dryer gave up the ghost. I looked around and had my eye on a model. When I contacted Michael, he recommended a different manufacturer. I concurred with his choice. Dryers are in short supply these days so there's a good long wait for delivery. Michael managed to locate a very fine machine and delivered it two days later. He's knowledgeable, straightforward and a man of great integrity. You can't go wrong working with him. (BTW, he wasn't aware of Lucia's one-star review. I pulled it up for him. He doesn't need to defend himself to me [clearly I'm a fan], but he gave me the full story. The lesson? Don't make a Craig's List purchase without confirming that the machines are actually functional. Lucia is directing her ire unfairly at the wrong person.)

I had a bathroom faucet with a leak. I first went to a big box home improvement store with off-brand parts that made the problem worse. The big box store also pushed me to buy parts I didn't need. So then I went to NPS. I told the employee behind the counter the brand of faucet I had and the problem and he did some research. He went back to their supplies and found something I never would have picked up on my own. Evidently Delta Faucets changed their design for the gasket/ball assembly. They had the exact Delta brand part I needed and it cost less than the big box supplies (that didn't work). I'm very glad I went here. He was also nice with my 3-year old who tagged along! Absolutely going here again.
