Went to the Coach House expecting the same quality food like the one in North Bergen. My girlfriend ordered chicken fingers which were baked. I ordered fish and chips which tasted like they were frozen and then baked! Gross! When I had complained about fish, manager never apologized, but did adjust the check by charging me half. How is this place still in business? The first thing I'd like to say is that our waiter tried his best and although not the most outspoken individual, did an OK job. The food was disappointing to say the least. My steak came out cold. The portion was small and plate was not full. Girlfriends burger looked like a burger king cheese burger; flat, soggy, and pathetic. Baked potato made me sick to my stomach. Although very hungry, I had to stop eating before I vomited. Took the food home to my dog, but he wouldn't eat it either. Overall very disappointed to have wasted my money at this establishment. The food was simply the worst I've had in quite some time. I don't usually write reviews but had to warn other patrons. I suspect most of the positive reviews are fake. Avoid this place! The food was okay (not great, just okay) until we got dessert and there was a HUGE DEAD BUG on my plate. I don't even understand how the waiter didnt see it, there was nothing around it. We were given a half assed apology and he didn't charge us for the dessert that we felt to sick to eat. Now we don't party like we used to but we still come here and the food is good, the salad bar is good, and the people are good. Good local place but the chicken tenders are not seasoned. Not impressed. I walked into this dinner on Saturday at 9am, the place was not very crowded and there was no one waiting for tables. There were 4 employees at the front. One was obviously a waiter assigned to walk people in, the other three were standing to the side discussing something in the menu. All of them ignored me for a good three minutes. Finally I stared down the waiter and he pointed to a booth. Then I saw him walking the couple behind me to a booth and gave them menus. I figured he was only assigned to one side of the dinner and the side he pointed me to was not his side... I waited an additional 5 minutes to get a menu from a different waiter. Another 5 minutes for yet another waiter to ask if I wanted to drink anything. By the time I place my order with the menu waiter I had been there for 20 minutes. I was almost ready to walk out. He seemed annoyed at the fact that someone else had taken my drink order. He kept looking towards the door seemingly not paying attention to me. The Coach House is a great restaurant! My family and I come here all the time! Comfortable atmosphere, the food is high quality and is brought out quickly. The salad bar is a great addition, as well. This is a regular spot for my boyfriend and I. We enjoy the food very much (the spicy chicken and shrimp meal or the chicken francese are our favorites, among others) and we like the staff too. Every time we get a waiter or waitress they have been very attentive, and made sure that we are happy with the meal we selected. We have also come to this place with friends and the menu selections pleases everyone every time. The only bad thing would be that we have sat next to some snobs and uptight folks in this place (obviously not the diners fault), and perhaps they are the ones giving the bad reviews. Wish I checked yelp before we dined here. I had the turkey leg which was a deep fried dried out hunk of poor meat. The stuffing was actually a bread pudding with raisins. Not stuffing at all. The cranberry sauce cake in a small plastic take out container. I have never seen this when dining In. My wife had the chicken fajita wrap. The chicken was cold and tough and had no flavor. It came with chopped iceberg lettuce and green unripened tomato and no dressing. Very strange. All in all very bad experience. We won't be back sadly. read more

This diner serves awful food. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Did not think you could ever go wrong with this item at any diner but I was wrong! The bread was soggy and they put way too much tomato on the sandwich. I had to pay an extra $3.50 for french fries because it only came with coleslaw and a pickle. I ordered turkey gravy to dip the fries into and it was tasteless! My husband ordered an eggplant parm sandwich which was vile. It had a rubbery consistency and actually had no taste. read more

I love this place. Classic old school Jersey diner. Go there for Sunday brunch and you won't need to eat again until Monday afternoon, and it will only cost you 12 bucks. Our server was great. After waking up to a flooded basement and finding out that our regular plumber could not or would not replace our failed sump pump today, we were forced to find a plumber on a Sunday morning who would take care of our emergency. We were very fortunate to find Brett, a really-good person and capable plumber, who knew that we were in a bind, replaced the sump pump, and charged us a price that was fair...emergency or not.
