There are about 40 rooms of which each has different challenges and involve solving puzzles or executing a task in 1-4 minutes. Depending on how you and your team do you will be rewarded with stars or puzzle pieces for prizes. Everyone is given a wrist band that has a little badge that you use to tap when you enter a room to track your results. Many of the rooms require the participants to work as a team to achieve a goal. Some of the challenges are mental, physical, or require a high degree of coordination. This place is great for adults and I would say kids 8 and up. Teens would love it. I would not recommend this for younger kids. I have heard that this place has very long lines on the weekends. Since we went on Tuesday evening there was no wait for about 50% of the rooms we wanted to enter. And even in those cases we only had to wait no more than 2 minutes for the team inside to exit. It's a cool and fun concept and I would highly recommend it!

Some of the games made no sense or by the time you figure it out the times up. It does move quickly and there's lots of options. I came back to host a birthday party. For any parent, looking for a party venue for their child I…read morehighly recommend this place. I booked the option two party about three months in advance. What's great is that you just select a theme from the pictures they have they send you a digital invite to send out and as you get close to the party date, they'll confirm the theme and give you an idea of what the schedule is. That's it that's literally all you have to do. Honestly, if you were to just walk in the door without anything in hand other than a child, your 90 minute birthday party would go off without a hitch. They had the cupcakes, the utensils, the balloons, the beautiful room set up and they had the goodie bags. Honestly, a lot of the parents gave us a compliment on organizing the party and how much fun they had and I felt weird taking any credit for it. We had an assigned party planner that was very invested in making sure everything was running on time and that the room was set up perfectly to our needs. And at the end of the party, they packed everything up for you. What's wild is they actually packed everything back in the original containers organized and ready to go. And then these poor people had to re-organize all the toys that our party had demolished and dragged a different corners of the room all within 30 minutes. I hate planning, and hosting events gives me a lot of anxiety, so to have a party go off successfully with my minimal involvement is amazing.

First of all, the concept of a pretend Main Street USA with shops with all kinds of props and working cash registers with play money inside is brilliant. I remember playing pretend shop keeper with my brother and cousins as kids and we would have loved this place. Secondly, the place is very well maintained and has plenty of space for the more active kids to just run around from shop to shop. My wife loved it so much she booked one of their other locations for our son's birthday which is many months away.

Now I have kiddos who keep asking whether we can go again. Just bought tickets to see the Snow Man and the Snow Dog show for the holidays and looking forward to it. Update: Snow Man and the Snow Dog was not loved by the kids (3 year old and 5 year old), personally I felt it was really boring too. High production value but just not captivating enough. My kid loved the original video but couldn't wait for the play to end.

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. Thanks again Imagination Stage. Can't wait to visit again!

For starters this place is so unkept, it's so incredibly dirty and the bathrooms are gross. I truly wonder if they ever clean this place? We visited 2 years ago and again this weekend, and I can tell they haven't updated a single thing. Including the nasty pom poms that have clearly seen better days and cost 2 cents a piece. This is the weirdest children's museum I have ever been to. Not even sure what the target age group is. They have like half of an exhibition appropriate for each different age group. The exhibitions are not cool, barely entertaining, half of them are broke or barely work, they are all dirty as can be. And the museum overall is tiny! I feel bad for the people that pay to visit this place. This was definitely the last time we visited, even with free tickets. Every single Smithsonian museum is 100000x better than this, and they are all free. So save your time and money and visit any of them, I'm sure your kids will be more entertained there and at least they won't catch a nasty virus from playing in this dirty place.

Recently opened in February, TFCC is a new and welcome addition to the Rockville Parks & Rec…read moredepartment. Located in the Fallsgrove area, the community center is both convenient to my office and a very affordable gym option. The facilities (all brand new) include a big basketball court, a ping-pong room, a fitness room with weight and cardio machines, a playground outside for the kiddies, a community garden that's starting to grow, and a few rooms for classes/events. And, the building was built with many sustainable features (i.e. geothermal heating, locally sourced materials, efficient water faucets) I've been a fitness member for a while which means I can access the fitness room whenever the center is open. On top of that I take a weekly kickboxing class that is a lot of fun (but also kicks my butt.) I really like that I can take as many or as few classes as I want and just pay for what I actually use through the Parks & Rec department. At typical membership gyms, you pay an inflated fee to pay for all these classes you don't even go to and all the personal trainers to annoy you to take a training session and all the sales people to haggle with you over an extra $5 off the 'joining fee'. Here you can pay a flat rate and get access for a month, 3 months, 6 months, or a year. And there is a discount if you're a resident of Rockville. The community center also has community events like basketball tournaments, festivals for kids, teen movie nights, and other family oriented things that are a nice addition to the area. I haven't tried these out as I don't play basketball, am not a kid nor am I a teen but they look like fun family functions. Overall I highly recommend TFCC and am very satisfied, especially since I don't have to commit to a membership gym!
