First, I dont have children. Second, just one second before you label me creepy. It was my nieces birthday which put me at the small children's playhouse called "My Gym." This place is fairly compact. About the size of a kitchen on the real housewives of X State, theres a small ball pit, a small trampoline, a couple slides, some monkey bars etc. So this place being small- the workers really have to be on point and use their imagination- and boy did they. Led by a gentlemen who could easily grab a career on a PBS kids, my nieces birthday was a smash. This place is really suited for 2-4/5 year olds. Yes a fairly narrow spectrum, but a fairly hard age to throw a party for. The kids were having a ball and throwing a bunch of them to boot. All assisted by the wonderful energetic instructor. Not to mention his on point playlist for todays events. As the kids all, either, threw balls at each other or the "grown-ups" or at the girls, or at the gym instructor- the song "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benetar was playing. Totes adorbs. Other classic hits included Billy Idol and of course your all-time Disney favorites: Bibbiti Bobbity Boo ( sp?) , Under The Sea, and more! The activities included a giant cylindrical gym toy being rolled over the kids to "make cookies" and the same large gym toy being used as a giant straddling swing. The kids were enthralled by the direction, the fun, and creative games. If you have kids this age, this place is a no brainer for a birthday party. In 1 and a half hours the instructors managed to play several games, feed them pizza and cake, and put them all through a mini zipline. Obviously, my niece "the Birthday princess" got to go twice- as her guests (aka the other kids) stared in awww and wished that it was their birthday party at "My Gym" Whoever that gentlemen is who led this party. I wanna say they were calling him "Mr. Gogarty?", this guy deserves a raise.

This place has good service and is responsive. But there is just not enough to do. It gets old fast.

So this was my home gym for about 6 months. Unfortunately I didn't discover it any earlier when…read moreliving in the DMV or I would have been there A LOT longer and A LOT sooner. Love the gym and equipment - this gym (Rockville location) has everything you need to include several pieces of cardio equipment (but not too many because it's definitely a strength gym). The vibes are pretty good - I like the lighting, the posing room, the music, the chill staff, and that it's well maintained. My ONLY complaint about this gym is that on MANY occasions, they would just remove/change/move/add equipment with no warning. So for example, they had a nice, standard MTS row machine (plate loaded), and it was great. One day, I walked into the gym to do a pull day and it was GONE. Some other very clunky, very awkward machine in its place. Same with the plate loaded low row machine they had - loved it, walked in one day and GONE. Replaced with another back machine that was not even close to the same. I don't know, I just found this incredibly irritating! Anyway, the locker/restrooms are well maintained, there are saunas in each one, and plenty of lockers (although that was a new upgrade earlier this year, and none of the lockers have handles, so it's awkward), but whatever. The time of day I work out is awesome (around 2 am) because the gym is virtually empty, but I know during some other times of the day (bro hours, if you will), the crowd gets kind of douchey lol. Either way, I enjoyed this gym and would go back in a heartbeat. They also had a very easy cancellation system and I had no issues cancelling my membership (in advance) before I moved out of the area. *Lastly, they also offer several different plans, so make sure you find the one that meets your requirements.

Love this gym! Most modern trendy and up to date gym in the dmv. For serious athletes and people…read morewho really want to take their fitness journey to the next level. Always playing great music and I love the sauna access. Also it's next to Trader Joe's which is great because you can do your meal prep shopping right next door. It's pricey but it's worth it

My last 5-star review for OneLife at Pike & Rose was posted in 2020 shortly after Maryland Gov…read more Larry Hogan lifted the COVID remain-in-place restrictions. Ever since then I have remain a committed member of OneLife at Pike & Rose for a number of reasons: 1. Pike & Rose staff and trainers are awesome! Everyone is willing to help and answer your questions. If you frequent the gym consistently, say 2 or 3 times a week as do I, gym staff and workout buddies will become a positive influence in your life. This helps you want to return to the gym on a regular consistent basis. 2. The outdoor astroturf workout space as well as the natural light throughout the East and South-facing gym always supply good visual energy. I have yet to find a gym with the high quality of natural light Pike & Rose supplies to members. 3. Local manager Skyler and Fitness Director Carolyn listen to members questions and/or concerns. The over all quality of the gym, the efficiency of equipment, the way in which members approach and use the gym are all on Skyler and Carolyn's radar. They may not be able to remedy a situation at any given moment for a number of valid reasons yet they will make a note. And they are always looking for ways to improve our experience at OneLife. Things do change for the better; new equipment arrives and class schedules are adjusted to help members. 4. The personal trainers are awesome! Every single one of them is kind, polite, friendly and approachable. You can always ask them a question or two and if they can't help you, they will direct you to someone who can. Over the years I have worked out with a number of personal trainers and I can guarantee you this: you fitness achievements will increase so long as you stick to it. What ever you are facing as far a personal limitations and/or goals go, your personal trainer will work with you to help you achieve your fitness goals while remaining mindful of any physical constraints that may need extra attention. Over time, the returns on your investment working out with a personal trainer will manifest themselves in a positive way (body, mind & spirit). 5. Lastly, the cleanliness of the gym and locker rooms remains attended to throughout the day. Cleaning staff are great, I enjoy seeing them as well when I work out at Pike & Rose. Keep at it and pace yourself. Slow and steady wins the race!

I love this location!…read more 3 Floor of fitness options: cardio, strength training, stretching areas, several group classrooms, red light therapy room, massage chair rooms, outdoor turf area, and saunas (within gender locker rooms). This gym is nicely constructed and renovated (from a different gym), and offers 2.5hrs of validated garage parking. No pool, but there are so many fantastic amenities and new equipment available, you won't mind. You'll get a warmup in trekking those 3 levels via stairs, but an elevator is readily available for accommodating all accessibility levels. Also, being located in the convenient area of Pike & Rose, there are plenty options to run errands, or grab food. I Highly recommend!

I loved the workout sessions! If you're new to the gym, I recommend this gym as a great starting…read morepoint. The personal trainers tell you what you need to do, the machine is always available when you need it because they plan ahead, and they help you with your form. That said, I wasn't thrilled with the 6 week program at the Rockville location. Usually, 6 week programs help you lose 20 lbs (or a percentage of body fat if you're under 200 lbs) in that timeframe. It was a few hundred more then the cost of just sessions, but I saw results pictures from other people and I was promised nutrition sessions, so I thought it would be worth it. At the beginning of my program, I didn't get any before pictures or starting weight check at the gym. All that I had to do on my own. The nutrition session wasn't super helpful. I already watch a lot of videos on the topic and I aim for 100g of protein a day, so when I said what I was currently doing, they said to just keep it up and we never talked more about it. My other complaint is that not all the trainers use the app correctly. I came to the gym at a few different times depending on my schedule that week. The morning trainers never entered the weights I was lifting into the app log, so when I went to the afternoon trainer he wouldn't know if I progressed at all since I last saw him. That was kinda annoying because I'm paying over $1000 for a trainer and they don't keep track of my weights for me, I had to track that myself. The afternoon guy was good at using the app though. Hopefully they fix that. Overall, love the workouts, form critique, and direction in the gym. Accountability was good too since you scheduled sessions in advance. I wouldn't recommend the 6 week program. I started at 176.8 lbs and ended the program at 176.7 lbs, but I can see a little more muscle definition on my arms and I started thinking 30 lb weights were so heavy and only good for farmers walks, but now I use them in dumbbell overhead presses. I just feel like I didn't get anything extra out of it. Gym was worth it but 6 week program was not.
