Naturally any store front sign advertising "UP TO 75% OFF" grabs my attention and with nothing much going on (other than walking the mall), i detoured into the store to check out the goods. To my surprise, maurice's had a wonderful array of trendy clothing from the moment i hit the first rack. Their brand jeans are for the younger mature lady and cut very favorably. These are not your daughter's jeans with sizes from 2-20 and styles with jeggings to straight. Fall will re- introduce the flare (YES PLEASE!!!) Eventually I made my way to the sales rack (natch) where i grabbed up some cute t-shirts and hoodies at $9.95 ea and jeans at $14.95. Fabulous (end of season) deals available! I may have left with a few extra outfits at a very good price! The sales staff are friendly and helpful (they'll set you up with a dressing room ala Ann Taylor) and the fitting rooms and sales floor were clean and kept in order (this was a busy Saturday mind you). After working retail, clearance is my best friend; as a plus sized customer, Maurice's clearance is not. I'm not sure who's idea it was to jam the few plus size pieces in with the standard sizes in clearance, and I'm not sure why it was allowed. Even thrift stores have the convenience of separating their extended sizes from the rest. The regular priced areas are always extremely tidey, and you're bound to find at least two pieces you can't leave the store without.

I generally just buy pants here because they fit well. The tops...not so much. If you are not large with big knockers you will have a very hard time finding tops, dresses or bras here. I am glad that they have new styles of jeans because for a few years I didn't like the ones they had so I had to settle for ill fitting jeans from other stores. I also really like their Houston pant. They are my go to pant. A bit pricey but worth it because I feel comfortable shopping there and I enjoy the clothes. This location is usually not too busy and well stocked.

Get the credit card (but don't carry a balance on it, steep interest!) for the coupons...they're worth it. ;) Love when stuff like this happens (true story!): Went in and spent $11. The haul? Two pairs of jeans, a cute dress, bolero, and a cute pair of heels. How? Take $10 card (you get $10 off for filling up a punch card, you get one punch for every $10 you spend), a coupon (20% off) and an awesome clearance sale (take an additional 40% off marked prices). Only problem I've had so far? Occasionally they forget the anti-theft devices. But if you bring it back in, they take it off and give you a generous coupon to use on your next purchase. ...okay, one other problem.
