Sorry, if you were hoping for a story about how Store of Lingerie has just what a full-figured guy was looking for, you will be sadly disappointed. I find myself walking by this store on a regular basis, and just as how some people seem forced to rubberneck at traffic accidents, or others of us strain our peripheral vision when strolling past a Victoria's Secret, such am I easily distracted by the window displays at this store. Also, it is hard to resist a store where so many of the reviewers (you know who you are) use the word "boobs". So, on my last trip by here, I noticed they had a tent set up for a sale. I popped inside, thought about grabbing a Thin Mint by the register, and said hi to the pretty clerk. I had a friend snap my picture in front of the giant poster of the lingerie model. I then completed my Yelp check-in, but decided I probably did not need the free bag, so I saved it for later. No purchase made on this trip, but I will file it away for a future occasion. read more

The only difficulty was picking which ones to buy now and which to save for the next paycheck. They had a great selection for my size (including 34E). I noticed another review commenting on their lack of 30 bands, but those aren't a standard size for luxury lingerie. So if you are on the fence definitely go to Sol. What I'll cover in this review: (1) What your in-store experience will be like, (2) What to do if you purchase something and end up not loving it, and (3) What to do if your bra rips/has underwire issues, etc. (1) If you're going for the first time, I'd recommend making an appointment with one of the staff. SOL tends to be quite busy, and even though you will be greeted by one of their friendly staff upon entry, you may have a bit of a wait if you don't have an appointment. I went in with an appointment and was immediately shown into one of the fitting rooms. Great service! Once in the room, you're ready to try on your potential purchases. A staff member will assist you (so yes, you'll be topless in front of another woman - if this freaks you out, I'm sure you can try on bras solo... but don't underestimate the value of their expertise). You may try on as many bras as you like, and I felt absolutely no pressure to purchase. They assisted me in finding the perfect size and helped with things like strap and boob placement - things we thought we learned in junior high, but WOW it's amazing what I could have been doing better all these years! Decide what you like, place orders for specific bras they may not have in stock in your size, and proceed to pay for what you'll be leaving the store with. They do not charge you at the time if you order something - you're not charged until it ships. (2) The bra I special ordered did not fit. I emailed my consultant (Anna) to see if I could return it, and received a response a couple hours later. Yes, I could return it, which I did - with absolutely NO hassle (I didn't even have the shipping documentation or a receipt - they pulled up my account by my name and put the full refund, including shipping charges, right back on my credit card. No hassles, no complaints - nothing but A+ customer service. (3) The underwire in one of my bras began to poke out of the underside. They took it back for repair by their seamstress, and I wasn't charged for this either. This company stands behind the products they sell, and that's kind of rare these days. Another A+ So, if like me you've been living with bras that don't fit (doing that shirt reach-in to readjust yourself during the day, constantly fiddling with your straps, pulling down the back, etc), GO HERE. Waited maybe 3 minutes before being helped by owner, Cindy. They all treated me and my infant like VIPs! Items were brought in to me in the dressing room, I wasn't left stranded in there. Another lady was "on hand" should my baby need to be entertained. Amazing! I was fitted perfectly, of course, and walked out with exactly and only what I needed. So I waited until the last day -- no, make that the last hour and a half -- to redeem the Living Social deal I purchased last August. As might be expected, there were more than a few other Living Social procrastinators there, too. I did have to wait a bit for a fitting, but once I got into Drew's fitting room the service was so attentive you'd hardly know there was a crowd outside. I do have to say that the fitting process was a bit mind-blowing -- Drew took a look at how my current bra fit, asked a few questions about my style and the types of clothes that I wear (but not what size bra I was wearing?) then disappeared for a few moments before coming back with a couple of bras for me to try on. Now, as you are trying on your bras, be prepared to be handled and scooped to get the bra adjusted just so. A few more questions to get my thoughts on whether I liked what we'd started with, whether they were comfortable, etc. and then Drew disappeared again to pick out a few more options to try ... and so it continued until I said stop, I have enough options to consider. I never felt rushed, and appreciated the tidbits of education she dispensed. I didn't look at the size Drew fitted me into until I got home with my purchases, and I have to say I am shocked at how wrong I was previously -- really, I was a band size and a cup size too small? I don't consider myself a particularly busty woman, so I suppose I thought I needed my undergarments to "create shape" instead of just supporting what I have. Yes, this is a pricey shop and I regret not being able to buy a new bra for every day of the week, but the pieces I did buy truly are foundation pieces that make me look (and feel) so much better. We had such high hopes for SOL but this place was a huge disappointment. Lured in by their billboard, my Lady hoped to find new lingerie. She just moved to Denver from Seattle and wanted to revamp her wardrobe. No complaints from this guy. We had a nice little spring Saturday planned: people watching, shopping and a dinner & drinks with friends. We sauntered over to Sol at around 5. We were greeted promptly by, well um, pond smell. Not what I was expecting but it looked like their fountain had seen better days (or years). Really, the whole place needs a major facelift or at the very least a fresh coat of paint. I don't mean to criticize the store's appearance but for the high-dollar product they sell they should take some pride in their shop. After our fountain greeting, a woman with a clipboard gave us a quick schpeel and M'Lady put her name on a waiting list (like at Red Robin minus the light up pagers). I didn't get the girl's name (tight shiny leggings, boots and a spray tan. Not judging, I'm from Jersey so I get it.) but she didn't seem eager to do much else for us. She had a lot of texting and gossiping to do (more on that later. After a short wait my girlfriend was escorted to the fitting room and I was left to my own devices by the fountain with soggy magazines. But, for a man out shopping, a chair is a chair. When I got up to use the facilities, I was privy to a fair amount of gossip, some choice words that would make a sailor blush. Must have been the wine they were drinking? I get it: Employees chat and joke in the back store room and it was Saturday evening. I worked retail for a while myself. But when the only thing separating your sales area is a curtain, keep the f-bombs, hangover chat and even more f-bombs to a minimum. So we all know that most high quality things are expensive. After years of buying nice lingerie and other bank-breaking gifts for my Lady, I expected to spend a pretty penny. Not today. She found stuff she liked but pretty much nothing was in stock in her size (34C: a common size according to my Lady). Some bras and whatnot could be special ordered but most couldn't. Ladies, I'm used to expensive, quality bras. I got used to getting my bras at Intimacy while in Boston and Chicago. Well, we don't have one of those here in Denver. Upon the recommendation of another yelper, I came here to get a few new bras to replace my long-wearing bras that I bought YEARS ago. SOL wouldn't be what it is without the outstanding customer service of the sales associates. They are professional on every level. Be prepared to be fondled but in return you will receive valuable information about your actual, correct bra size and how to properly wear and care for your lingerie (otherwise known as "protecting your investment"). Once your size and needs are determined, your sales associate will find several selections for you to try, efficiently help you narrow them down, and send you out the door in a flash with some lovely new unmentionables. If you refer your friends to the store and they make a purchase, you will both receive a $20.00 credit. Becoming a SOL Girl has its benefits! Once you're all set with your fancy new undergarments, bring back your gently used bras and SOL will donate them to a local women's shelter. You'll feel beautiful inside and out! SOL participates in the annual Cherry Creek Sidewalk Sale and guess what? They mark down some merchandise in advance of the sale! That means you can go in for a fitting without the hustle and bustle of the Sidewalk Sale crowds and still receive excellent service and the discount. Sweet! Parking is the usual Cherry Creek hassle. If you're lucky - and I seriously lucked out on a Saturday afternoon - you can score one of the two free easy parallel parking spots in the alley right at the back door. read more

Hmmm. Not sure where to go with this one. Bought three bras and some necessary extras like double sided tape and nipple covers for a backless dress. Price came out to somewhere around $400. Drew I believe was my fitter. She was friendly and nice and taught me how to wear a bra (thought I had learned that at ten. Oh was I wrong). I liked my purchases in the store but now I am unsure...I've worn two of the three since I bought them three days ago and one is actually very painful in the middle. The underwire pinches in the middle but I'm flying back home (I'm on vacation) tomorrow and will be unable to return it (if that were even an option). I'm kind of frustrated that I paid around $140 for a bra that I honestly don't like but I don't know how to remedy the situation. The same bra also doesn't give me great shape (it's all lace) and when I'm in shirts that are not form fitting, I look like a hippie. I couldn't tell this in the store because I had tried on a tight tank top. Got home and my loose tank top looks terrible with this bra, the one that was meant to be my go-to. UUUUGGGGGHHHH. Try it, I suppose, but be clear on what you're looking for (I wasn't) and don't be in a hurry (I was) because you'll need to wear the thing for more than thirty seconds to make sure it doesn't pinch (like mine does). read more

In terms of my experience in the store, SOL was great. I was quickly set up with a fitter who listened to what I was looking for and started bringing in all kinds of options that would work with a slightly tricky dress. Perfect sizing, not too much pressure, and listened to just what I needed (and threw a few "fun" options in the fitting room, just in case I felt like going a little crazy). In terms of the bras themselves (I purchased 2), after a little time has passed, I'm actually quite disappointed. One thing to note is that SOL mostly carries "Marie Jo" brand bras, which I've never heard of. Not that I'm the master of bra brands, but I did spend four years working at the HQ of a national retailer that sells bras (among other things), so I'm not entirely uneducated either. I had been under the false impression that they carried a number of brands, so this surprised me, but that's not really my main issue. I ended up buying two bras in a very similar style from VS very shortly after my SOL purchase, mainly because my SOL salesperson made me realize that more of my old bras were worn out than I realized, and I didn't want to spend quite as much $ as I had at SOL. Now, fast-forward about 2 months, and I think the quality of the VS bras is WAY higher than the ones from SOL. And the VS ones cost ~$40 each vs. $100 each at SOL. The fabric on the VS bras is much softer and more comfortable than the SOL bras, and would feel much more natural if someone were to, ahem, brush up against you. The SOL bras feel somewhat... bulletproof. The VS bras also seem to be holding their shape better, and while I'm probably not as uber-gentle with them as I should be, I'm at least treating all of them the same way. Bottom line - if you need a fitting or something more unique, definitely check out SOL. But otherwise, I think your money is better spent at VS. Sorry SOL, I mean no offense! I am grateful for the expertise, but I think you'd benefit from broadening your selection. read more

The displeasure is all about the service, not the product. Sol carries a nice selection of high quality lingerie. I have no issues with the merchandise. What I didn't care for was the haughty attitude of the woman who assisted me. She was rude, rushed me through my fitting and tried to sneak merchandise I told her I did not want into the pile of items I'd selected for purchase. I mistakenly thought the "better-than-thou" attitude of Cherry Creek North sales clerks was a thing of the past. Not so, based on this experience. I regret dropping close to $500 in this store. The fact is I needed the bras, otherwise I would have walked out. I've had wonderful experiences purchasing from Intimacy (the store Sol was modeled after). Unfortunately, we don't have this option in Denver. I now buy my bras when I travel to major cities. read more

Love the selection of brands at SOL, but I don't believe in their fitting strategy. As a girl who is petite yet full busted, a good fit is imperative. I have purchased a number of bras at SOL (albeit at the summer sale). Each time, I followed the advice of the fitter I was assigned, and each time, once I get home and wear the bras, I have the dreaded double boob, which indicates to me that the cup is too small. This past summer, I pointed this out to my fitter, and she told me why I was incorrect, so this leads me to believe this fit guidance is based on the training they receive. Maybe you get a better fit when you buy them full price? Maybe there are too many customers to service at the sale? I personally suggest that you get fitted at Nordstrom, and then if you dare, challenge your SOL fitter so that you end up with the right size. I have had good luck with this strategy, but it has generally required me to ask for the bra rather than trying it with a fitter. read more

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride... Once again, I was dreading wearing a strapless, silk shantung a-line dress in a friend's wedding (my 3rd that year alone). Being that I'm a plus-sized body with proportionally smaller bosoms, bras have never been a fun item for me to shop for. For one wedding, I even went braless, and I felt odd all evening. Add to that the pressure of wearing a strapless bridesmaid dress... I lost 20 lbs. for this wedding and had no bras that properly fit... My body is like the little cartoon lady on the SlimQuick commercial- I lose weight in my boobs and butt before anywhere else- depressing! Headed to SOL... SCORE! Not only did I find an adorable little strapless bra, that was actually comfortable and fit my gazongas properly, but I also found the world's most comfortable girdle that made me feel much more secure about letting my wintry pasty body hang out in this green dress on the Jersey Shore. True Story. I have no qualms about letting a professional handle my girls, but if you're squeamish about that, you may need to say some prayers or chant or practice letting strangers fondle you beforehand... Okay, don't do that, but also don't miss out on this experience! My only gripe is the sticker shock that slapped me in the face at the sales counter. I believe I spent about $200 on a bra and a girdle. And the bra alone was like $120+ of that. But according to Stacy and Clinton, your foundation pieces are VITAL to the fit of the clothes you put over them, so I took a deep breath and handed over my Visa. I'm happy to report that I felt footloose and fancy free at this wedding, thanks to my undergarments. Do not be surprised to be handled....um...a little roughly when you come in for your first fitting ( I'm talking saleswomen reaching down your shirt and scooping up the girls) but be prepared to find the perfect bra fit as a result. When you come in, also be prepared to spend at least $150 if you are like me and want to have a matching bra/panty set. Things do not come cheaply at SOL, but I do believe the quality of the items speak for themselves. If you take care of the items you purchase here, they will stand the test of time. Not only are the items quality, but they are also stylish and sexy in a variety of colors, sizes and styles (from wear to work to wear for a hot night in). Another thing I really enjoy about SOL is that once you are fitted, they keep your information in the system, making subsequent visits expedient and scoop free. This system also makes it easy for spouses and partners to be able to pick out lingerine for you that will be a guaranteed perfect fit. Aside from lingerine, they also have nighties, robes, etc. I bought a cashmere robe there last fall (after my husband threatened (jokingly) to make a home in the guest bedroom if I bought a Snuggie) and it is a slice of heaven. Not three minutes later she was ready. **Quick tip - If you are a shy woman this is not the place for you. You will have to bare all for a proper measurement and fitting. Fret not - these women are amazing at knowing everything size and shape related. We started the fitting and wow she was on her game. Quickly sizing me up and trying on multiple styles and colors. We finally figured out my size and shape. You would be amazed at how a proper bra can change your life and the way you look in your everyday clothes - I look like a super model. I expressed an interest in a plunge bra since some of my tops are low cut. We found a style I liked but at last - my size is not in stock or even carried by this brand. No worries - my girl Krista is going to call her contacts and call me back by the end of the week and find be the bra I want. I LOVE YOU KRISTA! Bonus! Apparently there is a 20% sale going on in the beginning of November. Instead of coming back, she gave me the 20% discount today. My lucky Tuesday. I settled on two sets, once you see the matching panties you will want the set two. This is not a place to come to save money. You are buying quality. A little bird told me that Sol Store of Lingerie is the place to check out snooty rich Denver women getting their bras fitted. A peek at the website told me that Sol claims its customers can, "Learn to love your bras." Well, I sure love the cute model on the website's bra, but what can they do for my tomboy self who won't buy anything that's not machine washable and can't go from work to home to horseback riding to hiking without damage? As it turns out, quite a bit. I liked the Chantelle bras, which seem to include lots of simple seamless styles that have thick enough straps (forget those satiny ribbony things for horseback riding) not to fall down, and are washable and fairly durable. Big props to Sol for donating bras to The Gathering Place for women in need. Drawback? Well, you can probably guess from the address and the sleek website and ads- PRICE! I left with my wallet considerably lighter, but with comfier boobies. read more

Sol is an exquisite, independently owned lingerie boutique in the heart of Cherry Creek. It is the only place to shop for quality bras in Colorado. First and foremost, Sol showcases a beautiful, carefully curated collection of bras that range from the uber-practical to purely-playtime. Sol also sells panties, camisoles, loungewear and lingerie, but I consistently go back for its bras. Great brands include Aubade, Marie Jo, PrimaDonna and Lise Charmel. Second, Sol is for the mindset of quality over quantity. After a year of shopping at Sol I officially tossed my Calvin Klein, Chantelle, and assortment of Macys/Nordstrom bras for a select few of Sol bras. I have not regretted it once. A bra at Sol will start around $100, and you will consistently love it and enjoy wearing it I have a few Sol bras I consider the workhorses of my wardrobe, and after years of wear, they remain in fantastic condition. My clothes look better on me and there's no strap-pulling, adjusting or other awkwardness during the day. Third, the saleswomen at Sol are 90% of what makes this store incredible. They are friendly, informed, knowledgable and not pushy. They know their products extremely well. Further, despite the small size of the store, the staff beautifully orchestrates the front sales floor and back dressing rooms so that you aren't standing around waiting. Fourth, the store utilizes technology that puts major retailers to shame. Sol maintains a database of your size and past purchases, so you can literally walk in and say "remember that lacy black thing I got sometime last year? I want it in pink." And boom, they'll find it. Or better yet, your man-friend, lady-friend or coworker can walk into Sol and say "I want to buy a sexy-time something for Leslie, do you know what she likes?" Boom, man-friend/lady-friend/coworker has a surprise for Leslie in her size and with confidence that she doesn't already own it. A good friend of mine left Denver and still shops with Sol over the phone. You can also use their website with updated store inventory to pick something out yourself. Last but not least, yes, parking's a pain, but it's Cherry Creek, so why did you expect anything else? Look for one of Sol's two spots in the alley, or pay $1 for an hour of parking on the street. My sister loves SOL and bought me a gift card. I'm of average size and don't really have trouble finding bras. I'm also fairly versed in how they should fit but I was still curious what they'd say (to be sure). First off, they were running behind. Ok, no big deal. Then, I get into the fitting room and rather than measure anything, she brings me a 36 something. I measure 30" under breast! What?! After that we tried several sizes. Honestly, it felt like they didn't have many options and you can't actually pick them yourself (which I knew going in). I ended up with a 32 but I'm not sure if it fit well (like she said) or she just told me that bc she admitted they were out of 34 and still wanted a sale (i do buy 32 or 34 normally). I wore the bra last night. The push up is nice but it's just ok for comfort. It cost twice my normal bra and I don't think it's any better. She also kept trying to upsell me - $60 panties, more bras, etc. Lastly, other ppl had champagne. I wasn't even offered a water. I was expecting (and wanting) a great experience but it was ho hum, especially for the investment. I went once but I'll stick to Nordstrom and the like. read more

They are extremely helpful in sizing, customer service is their specialty. I'm addicted, just wish I could afford to go as much as they change their lovely bras. Nothing fits right, even though the salesgirl is rushing in and out of the dressing room with a measuring tape and the latest miracle/gel/uplift/underwire contraption that looks great on an airbrushed 'Angel" but was surely sent from hell. This was the honestly the easiest shopping experience of my life, despite the cringe I felt at checkout. Previous bra fittings have been less than satisfactory and more than uncomfortable, but the young lady here handled me swiftly and sweetly. I was shopping for something to wear under the wedding dress, and was in and out in under 30 minutes with a comfortable bustier and 2 shiny new boob-holsters. I have decided to pace myself (and my budget), but replace my entire bra collection with things from their inventory by 2014. I honestly don't buy bras anywhere else. I have huge boobs. My size is impossible to find, and before I found SOL, bras were a horrible, ineffective inconvenience. They never fit. They never stayed put. They never provided correct support. I was constantly having to re-adjust. Thank god my trust-fund-baby friend introduced me to SOL. I know the prices are daunting, but in my size, nothing else is less expensive and still functional. All of the bras I have gotten over the years have been supportive and attractive which is rare in larger bra sizes. They have lasted. They have been worth every penny. I don't care about the atmosphere. I don't care about the customer service. I have no complaints about either of those things anyway. Love love love them! I come here a few times a year, they are pricy but they do treat you so well every time you come in. All (or most) of their bras and lingerie come from Europe. I really don't have to "work" when I come here, I tell them I want bras, I like Prima Donna and Aubade and I like color. They get me in a dressing room, they put the bras on for you, (yes there is scooping, they're just boobs). And they won't stop bringing things in until you say I'm done. There is no measuring tape, they look at you and give you things to try, they know sizes by looking. Go during clearance time which happens a few times a year. I finally hit my breaking point when it came to trying to find a decent bra and made an appointment at Sol. I, like other women, was wearing the wrong size. I am only 4'9 and have breasts too big for my body so I've always struggled with finding a good fit. I left with 4 bras and was (and still am) thrilled with 3 of them. The "girls" are front and center now instead of trying to run under my armpits. It has only been a couple of months but the 3 bras I kept are holding (things) up well! In the past, at this point what I originally thought was a "keeper" would start to rub, poke, etc. all the things we hate about bras! But not these. The reason for leaving off a star was for a few reasons. Although I had an appointment, I felt rushed. That kinda sucked since it was my first professional fitting and I felt like my head was spinning the whole time. The second reason is because on the way to checkout, I asked about the return policy and was told it wouldn't usually be a problem, but because of Covid, they weren't taking any returns. I thought that was a little weird, but felt confident with the bras I chose and proceeded. Lastly, without being asked if I wanted to purchase the lingerie soap SOL recommended, it was just rung up with the rest of my order. I realize it's my bad for not speaking up, but like I said, head was spinning. I have an almost full bottle of delicates wash I had purchased in Europe one summer when we were traveling every few days and I wanted to wash my underthings in the sink. Luckily soap doesn't go bad, so I suppose I'm stocked up for awhile! While I was hesitant about returning the one bra I was not happy with, I called SOL anyway to ask. I wish I could remember the person I spoke with but she was super happy to help me move forward with that without any mention of a new "Covid" rule. So, not sure what that was all about. Bottom line, would I shop there again? Absolutely! Would I recommend to others? Absolutely! Just be sure nothing extra sneaks into your bag and be confident that returns are not a problem. You and I both know what we like, now let the Sol ladies know too. Outside of Paris, this is the best lingerie store I know of. Be sure to bring your wallet though. LOVE THIS STORE! When I lived in Denver, I would frequent this place. They do an excellent job in measuring and fitting. The best fitting bras I've ever gotten were here. I never walked out of this store unsure of my purchase or with any buyers remorse later. They give instructions on the best way to care for your garments so they last longer. i went here today to get a few new bras ..i have gotten bras from Sol before and they have lasted years!!! Yes each bra starts off at the very least $125 but in my opinion its worth it to have a few lovely things in your drawer.. that being said i went because my hubs got me a gift card and i wanted to splurge.. Christina helped me and she was the funnest, coolest sales girl in a long time..she made me feel comfortable and i had fun looking at bras with her... i ended up with 3.. because she made me feel so good about my girls!! OH and they were having a sale which is kinda rare for Sol.... I'm happy even now thinking about my lacy purchases thanks a lot Girl!! Thats what customer service is about! I have been a long time customer of Sol and never really thought that I needed to Yelp about the place. After all, Sol has been on the Today Show and Oprah. But today was the icing on the cake. When I was pregnant I went in to get a few bras to get me through my pregnancy, that's when I was told they could be converted into nursing bras. For a small alteration fee my favorite bras were converted to nursing bras. I picked them up today and was thrilled when I got home and tried them on - who knew they could be so pretty. This wonderful experience is just my latest, but I have relied on Sol to fit me in the perfect bra for several years - including my wedding. Every time I go in the staff is very helpful and great about working with you until you are 100% satisfied. In addition to bra fitting, they also sell the most fabulous lingerie and the must have Hankie Pankies. If you must go on a weekend, be prepared to wait. I would highly recommend going mid-afternoon during the week. It isn't so hectic and you really get to enjoy the whole experience. Also, be prepared to pay a bit more for the bras, but they are well worth every penny. read more

I found SOL by accident one day while doing a google search when my favorite lingerie store in San Francisco closed. I called SOL, told them my situation and for the past 10+ years I have been purchasing bras, panties, etc from them from my home in the San Francisco bay area. Over the years I have had many sales associates each one better than the next. They are all so helpful and friendly even though I have never met any of them. :). I am in love with SOL. Everything in the store is fantastic - including the staff who even saved my sanity a few years ago when I was having a near wedding dress disaster. The woman fitting my dress kept telling me the bra was the issue with the fit. So - I took the dress AND the bra to the store where they helped me find just the right bra, even selling me two to take home and decide which I liked better, returning the one that wasn't my favorite for a full refund (unworn and with tags, of course). For the record, SOL went above and beyond by referring me to a new seamstress who fixed the dress up right with only a few days before the wedding! The price tags at SOL are a little higher than you might pay at Victoria's Secret, but you will get a custom fitting and lots of useful advice at SOL that you won't get anywhere else. I echo Jody Z's assessment that the care tips you'll get from SOL help to extend the life of the items you buy at SOL making the price worth it. This week SOL is having a 15% off sale which is really helpful for the bottom line. They have a few sales per year and if you get on their mailing list you'll never go wrong. Guys - you should know that SOL keeps great records and if you stop by to purchase a gift for your lady SOL can look up her size and notes on her preferences to help you buy her something awesome!
