My bra size is hard to find and nearly impossible to find in a comfortable, supportive bra. I bought an amazingly comfortable bra here about 6 months ago. Because of my narrow shoulders the straps were constantly slipping down; it's a problem I've always had so I just shrugged and went with it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I decide to trek down to Sol for a couple new bras. I happen to mention in passing my strap issue and the woman helping me (who I think was actually the owner - though she never introduced herself) was horrified I hadn't said anything sooner and whisked my old bra and my new bras into the back room where a seamstress sewed on some "leashes" - basically diagonal straps on the back that make sure that puppy DOES NOT MOVE. Free of charge! I don't know if it's always free or if it was because she was upset I wasn't getting the most out of the product, but they gained a loyal customer from that move! Two Notes - The parking is terrible around here, be sure you turn in just before the shop and park in the spots behind the store. There are two small spots there. - Both times I have gone there no one has approached me to assist me even though there were people available. The first time I had to grab a girl who was folding things and the second waited for the woman to finish a display. I can't say enough good things about SOL. I have never been fitted professionally for a bra before and I had such a good experience at this store. I walked in unsure what I wanted and walked out not only with two new bras, a cleaning bag and special laundry detergent, but armed with a boat-load of new info about bras and proper fit! I had an appointment at 4:30 pm in the middle of the week, and the store was mostly empty. I drove up and looked for parking on the street and squeezed into a space - before I realized there was a parking lot right behind the store! Definitely a nice sight to see downtown Denver! The building is beautiful and tastefully decorated both inside and out. Upon walking in, I was warmly greeted by a couple different members of the staff. They asked if I would like anything to drink - champagne, mimosa, water. Champagne it is! I was asked if I wanted to look around, but with the wide selection available, I knew I would just confuse myself so I opted to not and head right into my fitting appointment. I was escorted into a private changing room with a large mirror, chair, table and plenty of room for two. My consultant, Marie, stepped out for me to undress down to my bra and came back in to evaluate my fit and size. She then asked me to take my bra off to get a sense for shape and afterwards, went to gather a few of her first picks. I tried on about eight or nine different bras. We discussed fit, sizing, shape and a lot of other factors that go into choosing a bra. I originally was looking for a certain shape and lift - as a bra rookie, I am used to the shape that ill-fitting bras have given me over the years but after some discussion, realized that choosing a different cut was better suited for my type of body and clothing that I wear. I was willing to trust her and give it a shot! Marie brought in a wide selection - from balconette and full cup, to bras with side-sling technology to really lift and shape. She assisted me in removing and putting on each bra and adjusting to get the proper fit, which was helpful. I throughly appreciated the amount of knowledge she shared about the different styles, what clothing types they work best with, how they are supposed to be worn and how they make your body look. She let me try on each one with the shirt I brought, but I would definitely recommend bringing in a few of your favorite shirts to get a sense of how each bra looks with your go-to clothing. After my hour-long appointment, I ended up purchasing one regular bra and one sports bra and am excited to try them on with the rest of my clothes. I learned that you are supposed to wash your bra after every wear (news to me!), and purchased special detergent that helps with elasticity. I also purchased a lingerie bag for safe washing. The pieces are more expensive than your run of the mill Kohls bra, but I was happy to pay for a quality piece and a good experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at SOL. Cristina is amazing! I've had breast augmentations and have not been able to find a bra that fits properly or comfortably since my BA two years ago. I've tried every lingerie store around and even companies over seas that specialize in bras for bigger cups with small frames and I've never had any luck. Three times I have made my way to SOL, hopeful and expectant for the store to live up to its hype. Three times I have left disappointed and insulted. Before you get excited, there are a few things you should know.... 1) Their employees have strong opinions about bra styles and will judge you if your opinion differs. I simply wanted a rounded style that lifts --- ie. kinda the norm. All three times I went in, I felt like I had gone into Nordstrom's and asked for corduroy overalls or something. They will PUSH -- and I mean PUSH -- you into a pointy style that provides a "natural" look, ie. no lift. I came home with one such purchase and my otherwise unceasingly supportive husband confirmed that I did indeed look like a hippie. A bra that makes it look like I'm not wearing a bra is a failure of a bra, in my book. 2) They will assume that you know nothing about bras. I'm in the large-cup-small-band category and have thus ended up turning to the high-end specialty lingerie stores for quality products that fit. Living in NYC for 7 years, I made my way to all of New York City's "best" lingerie stores throughout the years. When I told my fitter at SOL what I was looking for, she all but rolled her eyes and told me that the features I was looking for "aren't usually found together in one bra". Well ladies, let me tell you --- they are. I have owned these bras. Not a single fitter in NYC gave me half a second glance when I told them what I was looking for. Although this particular example is from my most recent visit, I received similar (if more subtle) responses during my first two visits as well. (and lest you think I was looking for something wacky, I believe my exact request was that a bra "not fall off my sloping shoulders, provide lift, and more of a rounded style".) 3) Their selection is limited. Yes, they did have bras in my unusual size, which is more than most lingerie stores. But a few options in my size does not an extensive selection make -- especially when not a single one of those options works well under a white t-shirt. Perhaps because I am in my 20's, the fitters assumed I had a lingerie budget that would be "incompatible" with the majority of their products. Au contraire, having shopped at the previously mentioned lingerie stores in NYC, I am 100% comfortable with the $100-200 price range for a bra so long as it's a good one. I've tried on maybe 10 bras in my 3 visits to SOL. And each time I decided that a particular bra was "not quite right," it was clear that the fitter's limited patience was running out. Any woman who has shopped for a bra knows that you can't try on just any bra in your particular size and have a "winner". They're all made differently, and suit one's body differently. Which is why I found the response from my fitters so very surprising and disappointing. The long and short of it: If you've shopped for lingerie anywhere besides a Victoria's Secret, I do believe you will be disappointed. read more

I am a bridesmaid next month and was having the hardest time finding a strapless bra that would provide uncompromising support. I read the reviews and SOL's philosophy and was excited that I had found the answer! To be fair, I went in on a Saturday, so I knew it would be busy. However, I felt that my consultant wasn't listening to me and was in a hurry. I would have rather she told me to make an appointment for a later date. She did not take the time to measure me or explain the sizing. I was flabbergasted to hear that she 'sized' me as a 34 E. I'd been wearing a 36 C. Thus began my head spinning. Are my boobs taking over? Have they grown overnight? What is the cause for this disparity? I got no answers from the professional. In addition, she put me in a bra that was not appropriate for what I was looking for and then only showed me one viable bra option. As I was about to sign my soul over to what appeared at the time to be the only bra option in the world, I discovered that it was a $300 bustier. My head really started spinning. She had me at the counter shortly after and I could hardly remember my own address, I was so overwhelmed. I feel like I was taken advantage of. It was not fun, nor did I receive superior customer service. I hope that sales lady really needed the commission off of my purchase. I was told they don't make my size and it'd have to be specially ordered, but sent well before my event. I just spent an agonizing week not hearing anything from the company until they responded today to an email I sent. Is there no order confirmation email? I only hope that this bra that has been racking me with guilt (cost), and stress (waiting for shipping) is worth it. This whole thing bums me out. read more

Amazing. I have shopped here for years and love this local Colorado company! While the bras are a little expensive they last FOREVER and it is so worth it to be properly fitted for a bra. Recently I purchased a few new bras and one of them just didn't fit correctly. I wore it twice and decided it just wasn't right (which is rare in my experience with Sol). I have no idea why I waited so long to find my home for beautiful fitting lingerie - primarily bras - but they say good things are worth the wait. And SOL is it. I put up with ill fitting bras for so long because I thought I had to. But I was so wrong and when I searched for a professional bra fitting recently SOL came up first in search and was highly rated. So I went to the website, scheduled my fitting for the next day, and discovered I'd get 20$ off a bra because it was my birthday! It was meant to be. I saw Sandy for my fitting and I cannot tell you how much fun we had chatting, fitting and laughing. I felt so comfortable and it was a really great, no pressure, personalized experience! Got huge boobs? Looking for a great store to find odd sized high quality bras? The girls at SOL are going to be your new BFF's. Here's the lowdown... I have enormous boobs. Real ones, which mean they need serious support. SOL is the only store I have found in Denver that carries the brands I like, and whose peeps know what the hell their doing. I am a big fan of the store Intimacy, which has locations in Atlanta, NY and Chicago (maybe more now??). If you are familiar with Intimacy (and like what they have going on), you will like SOL. They carry many of the same brands and fit people the same way--a proper fitting. I question the reviews that favor the quality of Victoria's Secret bras, which I have never found to be of good quality. I have had primadonna bras for years--washed them with Forever New in a lingerie bag on the hand wash cycle and hung to dry. If you are going to spend the money on these bras, kick up an extra few bucks to get the right gear to properly care for them. Consider it protecting your investment. Krista has always been the one to help me there, but I imagine she's not the only one who knows what she's doing. Bra shopping is worse than jean shopping in my book and this place makes it easy--even for strapless! Good luck. read more

I was fitted for a bra 8 months ago here, finally bought it (from an online retailer - it's hard for me to get to SOL during business hours, and I did not realize SOL had an online store). I'm a 30G. It's hard to find bras that fit right. This one cost nearly $150, which is a big expense for me. I wore the bra once and found it quite uncomfortable; understandably, the online retailer doesn't accept returns on worn items but did suggest I ask SOL for assistance with the fit. I returned to SOL and not only did they generously and pleasantly agree to help me with the fit, but they also offered to either exchange the bra with another one that fit better or return it to the manufacturer for me (even though I did not purchase the bra from them). It was determined that the bra was the correct size for me but based on my concerns, SOL is tailoring it for me for free and shipping it back to me for free. I can't even believe I'm writing all this. But it's true. I'm extremely impressed with the above-and-beyond customer service I received here from everyone who assisted me. read more

My first experience at SOL was amazing! Bra shopping has always been a daunting task for me since I have scoliosis and my body curvature makes getting them to fit very difficult. I had emailed with Drew back and forth about bringing in two bras purchased elsewhere for alterations. When I went in for my appointment, Drew was there to greet me and helped me throughout the rest of my time there. Sol, Store of Lingerie, absolutely know their stuff! I haven't been in for quite a while, and what a mistake! You are measured, sized, adjusted, all there, in a private dressing room. Modest women need not bother to walk in the door. The employees of the store (all women) know their bras and other undergarments. They ask you several questions about your needs: what type of work you do (more casual dress, more business style clothing, etc.), and what type of bras have you worn: padding, underwire, etc. Then, be prepared to show what you are wearing (again, modest women need not walk in the door). The employee will go out, and bring back quite a few bras for you to try on, all in different (fun) colors, styles, etc. The employee will help you on and off with the bra (again, modest women need not walk in the door), show you how to properly fit into the bra, how to put it on correctly, how to tell if the bra fits properly,etc. If you can't tell by now, I HIGHLY recommend Sol, Store of Lingerie. Yes, if you do purchase even 1 bra, be prepared to spend some money. It is so worth your time! If you plan on going, and with several friends, sister,s etc., call ahead and give them an advance warning, just common courtesy. As for the questions I posted at the top, you will just have to go to Sol Store of Lingerie, and find out for yourself. Interior - nice, comfortable, and very well informed staff Parking - street parking, in North Cherry Creek, so be prepared to walk a little, but so worth it. I think that says it all. Well, it turns out the bustier I bought from them peeks out when I wear it under my wedding dress - so I went back to return it. The store was packed on a Wednesday late morning because they had a sidewalk sale, yet they still saw me within a minute, and let me return the bustier with no receipt (they keep your info in the system), no questions asked. Great shop- you can get a professional bra fitting here, which is not the case in many other shops (I'm looking at you, Victoria's Secret). You will learn a lot, and the bras they carry are top quality. They also have cute sleepwear and everything is comfortable! Go check it out, and at least get a fitting. You'll probably end up buying something, because the bras are super cute and comfortable. The bras are EXPENSIVE, but if you want quality they are worth it. They are one of the only shops in Colorado that carry the Marie Jo and Marie Jo L'Aventure line. Also, don't miss their "Hanky Panky" brand panties and thongs- they are EXTREMELY comfy- better than any others I've owned. You can get these elsewhere, but the prices are almost always the same ($18), so why not support a local business? I also have two L.Z. brand bras that are less expensive and very comfy. They have a great sidewalk sale in the summer (July), but go early because it is a madhouse! The staff is professional and courteous. I don't know about the size ranges they carry, (I wear a size that is relatively easy to find), but I would guess it is probably extensive. They do have free customer parking behind the store, but I've always found it to be occupied. Tells you something about their popularity. read more

I love my swimsuit! It fits like a glove. The problem is....why is it sooo f'ing expensive. Just because you're in CC, doesnt give you an excuse to sell a bra for over $120. Yes, i know they are fit especially for you, and the experience.. blah, blah blah! It's a little pretentious. And although yea! some lingerie there is totally worth the money, it's beautiful! some is not though. This was hands down the best bra buying experience I have ever had. Normally bra shopping has me in tears. SOL knows exactly what they are doing. I went on a Saturday, mid afternoon and expected to have to wait. It was only about a 15-20 minute wait. I was with Ashi(?), a new employee training. She did a fabulous job. Amazing bra fitting experience and excellent customer service! The bra selection is the best and well worth the price. During my first visit I purchased two bras and was told to give it time to break them in, one bra I love and want to wear everyday while the other just didn't feel right I had it for a little over two weeks and Sol accepted the return of the bra! Prior to coming here I had never really considered spending over $100 on a bra. And, really, I know it sounds crazy to people who still don't that any of us would spend that much on something that is not usually revealed in public. But let me just say, I am a convert, and while I still wear $40 bras, too, I love the bras I've purchased here--better fit and cute styling. I have been in a couple of times now and I just adore the ladies who work at Sol! They are amazing bra fitters and have such beautiful bras to choose from. I wear a 36G and finding bras that are supportive and still beautiful can be tricky. Don't get me wrong, you can spend a pretty penny at Sol, but you won't be disappointed you did. I have even had a couple of my existing bras that were purchased elsewhere altered at Sol to make them fit better. That's was SO worth the minimal alteration charge.
