I used to rate this place 5 stars, but after today's experience, I'd give it 1 star. I ordered two vermicelli plates (one was $19.95 and the pork vermicelli was around $15.95), a beef stew with bread for $14.95, one whole coconut for $6 & a side of soup for $2. When I got my bill, the total came to $80 + which didn't seem to add up for what I had ordered. As I was leaving, one of the employees came out & handed me another beef stew with bread. It caught me completely by surprise because I had already ordered and paid for one & I had even packed it to go. I wasn't sure if this extra one was meant to be complimentary or if there had been a mistake & no one explained anything. The whole situation left me confused. If there was an issue with my order or the bill, I would have appreciated an explanation. Instead, I walked away unsure about what I was charged for & why I received an extra item. So I decided to add the extra beef stew cost that they gave me....& now it made sense. I was charged for something I did not asked for. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but this experience was very disappointing. This is a large casual, ascetically pleasing, air conditioned, good quick service. The vermicelli/ bun with grilled chicken was large and they happily brought extra fish sauce which was needed due to the sizes of the bowls. If I was in the area, I would definitely eat here again, however it does not compare to many places in Stockton Blvd/Little Saigon area or all the good places in the Racho Cordova area either. I think the noodle texture got to me... it was a bit over cooked. Also, the flavor on the chicken was lacking. But it was a fine dish otherwise. read more

I had a craving for Bun Rieu so I tried this place and it was decent. I ordered the shrimp and pork spring roll which was ok, I mean its a spring roll there's not much to it. The Bun Reiu was decent but it didn't have that strong flavor that I was looking for. But it did taste good, the broth was clean and they weren't shy with the ingredients. We came to this place for lunch and were excited to give it a try. We ordered the 28. Bun Tom ,thit nuong cha gio (hoc Ga). It was delicious. I would have liked for there to have been more meat. Being accustomed to Vietnamese food in San Jose and SoCal, Co Do 2 does not hold a light to the flavor and quality you can get there. Stopped in for lunch and ordered a few different items from spring rolls, com tam (rice plate), bun thit nuong (noodle bowl), hu tieu kho (dry noodle bowl), wonton soup and chow fun. Everything was unremarkable and meats overly salted. The spring rolls had no flavor and barely had meat in it. Meat was dry in the noodle dishes and in some dishes inedible. The best part of my hu tieu was the side of broth. The noodles itself were super salty and the seafood was on the small side and didn't taste fresh. The chow fun was 1/3 sliced onions. I do give it to them for serving up large servings, but felt like they go more for quantity than quality. Service is whatever, food came out quickly but once we were served our dishes we were never checked up on or waters refilled. Price is cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. The gloomy Sacramento winter weather has had me craving soup, so I decided to stop into Co Do 2 for some takeout. The parking lot was pretty packed, but I was able to find a spot. Be careful in this lot, the parking spots are on the tighter side and many people are coming and going. I walked in and headed to the counter to peruse their menu and ended up ordering pork spring rolls ($7), Hoan Thanh Mi (wonton and egg noodle soup) ($15.95), and Bun Dac Biet (House Special Combination over vermicelli) ($16.95). After ordering I took a seat and snapped a few photos, and my order was out within about 10-15 minutes. Everything was packaged well and when I got home we replated everything for our lunch. The portion sizes were generous and each dish is perfect to share, or for bigger appetites will fill you up. The spring rolls are a goo size and had lettuce, bean sprouts, rice noodles and pork with a peanut sauce for dipping. I didn't notice mint or cilantro- or it may have been a very small amount, it was definitely more noodle heavy. The wonton noodle soup came with a full container of broth and all the toppings on the side. There was a good amount of wontons, pork, and noodles as well as basil, onions, cilantro, bok choy, jalapenos, and lime. This soup is perfect for the winter and the broth and wontons were very flavorful. The vermicelli noodle dish had a generous amount of noodles and meats. The combination comes with shrimp, pork, a spring roll, veggies, peanuts, bean sprouts, and a few other ingredients along with sauce. I ended up combining everything in a large bowl. This is a solid spot for a meal, and I know I'll be back again. read more

Been to Co Do 2 now a few times in the Natomas area on Truxel Road. Nice location with ample parking. This place is pretty big inside with lots of dining tables and very clean. The staff here are friendly and very courteous. Always greeted quick once I entered the place and informed to select any open table. Menu provided quick and placing an order is super easy. I tend to stick to my usual pho dish which is the wonton and egg noodle soup, especially during this cold, rainy winter weather. The bowls are fairly big bowls so I typically just get a small size. It is as usual served on the side with fresh basil, chili, mung bean sprouts and sliced chili. I always top it off with sriracha! Sometimes I'll order fresh spring rolls too depending on appetite. Price is reasonable. Always a good experience here and will be back as a regular visitor. Haven't tried the other Co Do in South Sac yet but will try sometime soon. read more

We haven't eaten in or tried their soups so my review is based on take out food and the brief service interactions we've had. I used the Menufy app to place my orders and also ordered at the register. All interactions were friendly and apologetic if I had longer wait times. They've also offered me water whenever I've waited. The restaurant itself is large with lots of tables and pretty decor but you could see there's some messiness of work in progress going on. As for the food, everything we've ever picked has been amazing. My favorite thing to double order is their cha gio/fried spring rolls. It's also a great bargain for our area. You get four big spring rolls for $7.50. Another dish we won't skip is their com bo luc lac/shaking beef. It's the perfect combination of savory and sweet caramelized beef cubes with vegetables and rice ($17.95) Maybe my opinion will change once we dine in and try their soups since opinions on their pho are very divisive. My favorite reviewers are very harsh, but honest so I will take that into consideration for the next time. But for now I have to give them five stars. read more

I have this places another opportunity and it failed. Food was really bad. We orders a pho with nuts white meat and they did not follow the order. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and the flavor of the chicken was too fishy. They need to be careful on cooking each meat with different oil, you never know y who is alerting to fish or chicken. I started off with one start bc of their customer service attitude. We order take out, I came in and ask for the order to pay for it. They didn't greet me. They asked for the name I said the name. She walked to the register gave me my total. I paid and stepped aside to check the order (just to double check). I asked her for utensils and she repeated my question, and I said yes pleases. We were looking for some pho in the area as this was what my niece was aiming to have for lunch. Co Do 2 popped up and we figured, it looked pretty good so why not? In short, no frills, solid broth pho. L O C A T I O N Co Do 2 is located in a small plaza in its own standalone building. There's parking shared by all the businesses though small, it was easy for us to find a spot right in front. The spaces do feel a bit tighter than usual. I N S I D E There's a stage on the right and basically all the seating is toward the left side of the building. Some booths, some stand alone tables. But there was plenty of seating when we arrived. M E N U The menu is pretty big and so you can probably find something that you're craving from noodles to soup to rice plates, etc. They did also have Chinese food. We opted to get a few items which were the shrimp & ground pork egg rolls (cha gio), hu tieu mi, and pho tai bo bien (rare beef and meatball noodle soup). ~ 1. Cha Gio ~ It was okay. Not the best egg rolls. I don't even recall getting any shrimp in the bite or two I had. Just very ground pork forward. ~ 9. Pho Tai Bo Bien ~ The meatballs were very flavorful. The beef good after a nice bath in the broth. The broth was great. It had all the melded flavors that you would imagine in a pho. Definitely would get any of their phos again. ~ 16. Hu Tieu Mi ~ I guess we should've read the menu so we were surprised it came with a thin flat noodle and egg noodle in the bowl. The both was very light. So if you're not looking for a heavy flavored broth, definitely go for this noodle soup. There was a variety of toppings which was fun including imitation crab, fish balls, squid, pork, bbq pork, etc. S E R V I C E Once we came in, we were seated. We placed our orders at the table. Things did come out fairly quickly after we ordered. We then asked for the bill and apparently you just had to go to the desk in the back to pay. I wish they put a sign on the tables that said to pay at the register when done. O V E R A L L It's been a long while since we've had pho, so for my first time eating it in a while, this one hit it out of the park. It was a comforting bowl of soup on a cold-ish day. Definitely filling even for the medium bowl (can easily feed two people) and a large if you're my hubby who loves noodles. I would skip the egg rolls unless you love them. I would be interested in their actual rice dishes, but it might be probably a very long time I come back as I don't live in the area, but if you're needing a steaming bowl of pho on a cold day, definitely try this place out! read more

Great place to grab pho and they also have some Chinese dishes in the Natomas area. We came here on a Monday afternoon before dinner, I think around 4pm is when the workers are taking their breaks before it gets busy. When we got there it wasn't busy but people started trailing in after work and school. We had a party of 5, service took a little long but the food was great. We started with spring rolls, and 4 of us got pho soups, ranging from small to large, someone got a vermicelli bowl, we also got the fried chicken wings in fish sauce, and we got the slow cooked bone in beef which comes with 2 huge bones for $10 and great to share with the table. I stored it in the fridge immediately after and thought to myself that I could try again the next day. Broth went bad even though it was in the fridge. I have been on the fence about coming to the second location of Co Do with the very mixed reviews, but after I saw another Yelper mention that the restaurant has recently been renovated, I decided to finally try it out for myself. I have recently been on the hunt to find the best BBH restaurants in Sacramento, and was looking forward to try the BBH here. I set my expectations low as I enjoyed the BBH at Co Do but it wasn't the most flavorful, so I was expecting something similar here. But I was wrong. Co Do 2's BBH is by far better than the first location. Not only is the soup deep and flavorful, but it is full of lemongrass flavor. The color of the broth was also red when it arrived, which is what I love to see. I asked for shrimp paste as well, which arrived quickly. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the herbs were fresh. The meat was tender and I got a big fatty pork hock to gnaw on as well. The large was perfect for my early lunch. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, as well as quiet. I came on the day before Thanksgiving, so that might explain why it was so quiet, but regardless I felt comfortable dining here. My server was kind and friendly, and attentive to refilling my water. Co Do 2 is tucked away in a quiet corner of a strip mall, but it is the perfect place to get a good bite in. I would love to try their pho some time, but this review is strictly for their BBH, and I am very happy to find another place that serves BBH well (and not in South Sac)! The bun rieu was flavorful; however, a bland and too sweet. The tofu was tough and tasted better with fish sauce. Would have loved other veggies to go with the noodles soup instead of just mint and cabbage. My husband and kids liked their pho and my husband commented that the pho noodles were cooked to a nice consistency. The marinated beef with lime juice was the best dish on my opinion and I don't like raw white onions but it was so tender, flavorful with the right amount of lime and seasoning of the herbs. First off, service was good. Not her fault. I came in for lunch today. Very hungry. Had not eaten all day and super busy. Was stoked to find an off the beatened path Vietnamese restaurant in the midst of my holiday shopping. I ordered the eggrolls for appetizer and mi quang for my entree. With great anticipation, I waiting a short time for the eggrolls to come out. Much to my dismay, I was presented with what looked like a great disappointment. Vietnamese eggrolls. Tiny partial leaf of lettuce with a large amount of a cheap sweet and sour sauce. Being Vietnamese my entire 51 years of life and 30 if those years an executive chef at some of the best and most luxurious hotels in the country, I ask myself, "HOW DARE ANYONE EVEN CALL THIS ATROCITY "VIETNAMESE EGGROLLS"? I spoke to the server and told her I don't want this and there isn't even an offering of the ubiquitous nuoc cham, a Vietnamese staple sauce with any Viet eggrolls any effing where. No mint. No cilantro. No fresh crisp leaves of greenleaf lettuce or anything resembling this components. After refusing to take the dish back, she said she would bring me what normally comes with eggrolls. As if being deeply disappointed once was not enough. She bought out a small bowl of fish sauce and a plate of greens. Spotting its contents from 10 paces, I knew this was not going to end well. I was brought cilantro, ok. Some pickled carrot and daikon. Was way too sweet. Adding insult to injury, a fistful of Thai basil. I what effing world in the US or Vietnam does eggrolls come with effing Thai basil??? No effing where. The "nuoc cham" deserves the quotes I put it in because it was not nuoc cham. At best it was cheap fish sauce with water and sugar. No garlic. No lime. No resemblance to Vietnamese nuoc cham. This in it of itself is a crime punishable with scathing review. I will never darken Co Do's doorstep. I will shout from whatever mountain top/platform telling diners to STEER CLEAR OF CO DO.
