Excellent service! Came to us at the Hyundai dealership while we were getting work done and made a new car key and fob. We had looked online at Amazon and found a fob that we thought would work for $15 (normally very expensive otherwise). We got lucky and it was the right one and he was able to program it for a really reasonable price. We've waited years to get a new key and fob because we were quoted over $350 and this was under $100. So happy. He also called in advance to make sure everything was on schedule. I could not be more grateful to Tim for fixing my ignition and he did it so quickly that it was extremely inexpensive. He arrived much later than he had hoped but he doesn't know exactly what problems he is going to run into with each job. We found ourselves while on a camping vacation locked out of our cabover camper due to a broken lock. What a mess. Clydes to rescue!! This was a Lance electronic lock - virtual impossible to get into. This man worked for nearly two hours and was able to get the lock off. Most would have given up. It's a great locksmith for getting key copies, WHEN THEY ARE OPEN. Unfortunately, I find the shop closed during stated business hours, more often than not. So, definitely call first to make sure they are really open. read more

They did help well with a unique key situation but it was a lot of back and forth with them not being open during their working hours, not returning messages etc. If you are going to use them call first and confirm they are actually open and in the office so you dont go there to find doors closed during mid day. My last time trying to use their services was on a Tuesday at 11 am to find doors locked and no one there. I called and left a message (their message says they should be open at that time) and never got a response to my message. read more

I was looking for a locksmith shop to make a key. I don't know about you but when I take it to Lowe's or Home Depot, etc., they never get it right and I have to go back. I didn't want to do that this time. After going to another lock shop which looked sketchy from the outside only to find they were closed until Jan 30. I looked elsewhere. This is right on State Street, so parking at noon wasn't great, but I walked a couple of blocks and was good to go. The key making was quick and $3. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I scheduled 3 times for this joker to come out and install locks. The first two times they rescheduled and cancelled. The THIRD time the woman who answers their phone said that the locksmith was running behind (we were scheduled for him to show between 3-5 pm). The locksmith NEVER showed up and NEVER called me to explain or reschedule for a FOURTH time! So I called their office and left a message stating since they can't manage to show up towards the end of the day how about scheduling me at the beginning of their day! Their office NEVER called me back. I called the door company that referred me to these yahoos and told him that it reflected poorly on his business to refer this locksmith out because the locksmith is irresponsible, unreliable and just downright inconsiderate of other people's time! We needed a door lock replaced and keyed. I called Clyde's 4 times, left 2 voice mail messages, and went in person to the business. The business door was locked, lights were on, and I knocked several times. This took place over a 2 week period. I found another locksmith business that came out the next day and took care of our needs. As of today, still no call back. SO done with this business. read more

I scheduled someone to come between 1pm-3pm and they didn't show up until 8pm and left stating they would have to come back the next day. The man appeared to be on drugs. No one called and no one showed up. I work and wasted two days waiting for nothing and unable to leave my home. I have called and no one answers the phone or returned the message I left. Horrible customer service and experience. I had another company come and they said the guy that came drilled a hole in my ignition and switched them and took my code so I had to get a whole new ignition which cost me an extra 100$. I was given this business name by my realtor, who recommended them highly. I made at least 6 phones calls over several days, and not once was the telephone answered. I waited a week and tried again, one time the phone was answered, and the message said to leave a name and phone number, which I did. Never heard from them. Apparently, business is so good they don't need new customers. I certainly wouldn't recommend them, and I told my realtor about my experience. read more

I messaged them on 8/12/21 requesting a quote for rekeying of 4 locks and a replacement of a lock. Pretty simple. Tim responded right away saying they could help me and provided a quote. I accepted the quote and gave them a number to call of my tenant to confirm the date and setup a time. My tenant heard nothing for 5 days (8/17). I called and they said, oh yeah, Tim isn't good at returning calls. And we have nothing available the day you originally asked for. WTF? This is good business? I asked them to call my tenant and they said they certainly would. After 24 hours they did not. I'm done. I don't have time to dick around with this lack of customer service. I am VERY disappointed since they are a well established business in Salem. I will never use them again, and neither should you. read more

5 weeks ago I had Clydes Locksmith and Safe company come to my home to get my safe opened. He had to order a part and as of today August 13 2020 He has not returned to replace what is needed so I can open my safe. He has cancelled several appointments or just not shown up and then when I call him back he gives me a different date for another appointment that has been going on now for 5 weeks and longer now. If you don't want your safe opened then call him to do just that read more

They have a huge selection of keys if that's what you're looking for. But if you're going to get a key cut/matched, go somewhere else with a sophisticated machine. Their old cutting wheels messed up my only custom $20 key and the worker was really rough with the file-ing and really unsteady without delicacy in the process, leaving a terribly grooved cut on the key surfaces and didn't slide easily through the tumblers in my cars' lock. Luckily I took my key to ACE hardware in Stayton and they were able to straighten out the jagged cut and make it smooth, barely salvaging they key. read more

Came out to get the keys out of my truck and broken my window track. They claim it isn't their fault and the guy says he has been doing it for 30 years, but he wasn't there when it happened a kid came out that has worked their less then 6 months and even accepted responsibility, but then they went back on their word. Almost had a major catastrophe with my car key. Called the dealership and they told me they didn't have my key in stock and that it would be 30 dollars to replace it once they ordered it. Then when I went to Clyde's I was extremely surprised to see that they had multiple of my key AND he was going to charge me 4 DOLLARS. I ended up snagging an extra one, can't beat that price.
